Seriously, no joke, it’s here. We look at the story and assess whether Blizzard have successfully created an expansion with the excitement, stakes and sense of danger that Dragonflight lacked. We also assess the Remix: Mists of Pandaria disaster and talk about the real damage it will do to The War Within

  1. I think remix shows the power of keeping all the content relevant from patch to patch. In remix, every dungeon, raid, rep, and zone is completely relevant and worth doing at max level and gear.

I’ve thought for a long time now that wow needs to stop raising the level cap and focus on making all new content going forward in a way that doesn’t invalidate the old, even AFTER doing the new stuff.

Guild wars 2 is a worthwhile field trip for wow players to take and experience what an mmo can be like when it doesn’t do what wow does, and every expansion EXPANDS the game rather than replacing everything that came before.

Updating the old content for wow to fit this paradigm would obviously take a lot of work, but if they stop raising the level cap and max item level NOW, then it can stop becoming a larger and larger task to fulfill and they can slowly add more and more old content to max level in the future

  2. You don't need to have bronze farmed to get powerful, I'm only 4 upgrades each off getting maxxed gear now, I have a great cloak, we were always going to get to godlike power if we wanted to, I really do think that was the point of the game mode in Remix, the only problem is feeling weak against those people but honestly I don't see why people care, if you want balanced WoW it's still there in Retail. MoP was never going to be balanced and I suppose if you care about that you're upset. On a personal note it's going to mean all my toons are level 70 come TWW cos levelling a new character through it is insanely easy and when my main MoP is maxxed out in gear I'll be able to farm bronze from anywhere I want. I love it.

  3. If Blizz is rushing players through leveling content to minimize the amount of time players have to spend in their new world and zones that, to me, is such a massive fucking L. I’m very skeptical about WW so far to be honest, really hope the patches take us somewhere cool. So far only Hallowfall has people excited like nearly every zone in BfA did. And the nerubian palace is Suremar like, but Suremar city was one location in a zone full of vikings, ruined forests, and, oh ya, underground spider buildings.

  4. I suspect some of the observations and data the WOW devs have on the effects of long term "confinement" and attempts to mitigate these issues could be very interesting fodder for psychological research much like the data on the blood plague incident and may be very valuable.

  5. The event goes on for 90 days. If you do all your raids and dailies, you can get almost 2 upgrade tiers per day. Sure, gear should've been put on another token besides bronze but ultimately it's not that big a deal. Everyone eventually becomes overpowered, and it feels good when you hit 556 on all your pieces and can hit for 80 million glacial spikes. You have plenty of time to get all the transmog you want, it all depends on whether you want to invest your time into levelling multiple characters at first, or get a fully geared character that you can rock the DPS meters on.

Bosses have finite health, if the entire mode is to 'become overpowered on an unprecedented scale' then no matter whether it's now or 60 days from now, people are going to leave you in the dust one way or another.

  6. I can see the mounted combat being used in pvp, hunters and casters shooting arrows from the backs of dragons, melee classes trying to get in close to daze their mounts and maybe even hijack or knock them off their mount! Maybe turn it into a pvp battleground with rings and orbs to transport (full quidditch fantasy may be coming into play here…) so much more to that that I think would be so much fun.

  7. On like day 3, I decided I won't spend a single bronze in item upgrade and am glad I did it that way. Having to farm non-stop to bump ilvl before you can get mounts is NOT a good feeling. Let this alt I'll never play afterwards sit at pathetic ilvl… let me use remix for the mogs and mounts it was intended for. Blizz has even said they don't plan to lower costs of upgrades.. Good, once I get the mounts and mogs I want, no reason to think about the event again.

  8. I've loved remix. I play too much and have reached max ilvl and gotten a powerful cloak just doing daily content and raids. It's a blast being able to nuke aoe packs from orbit and soloing heroic raid bosses for friends. It would be nice to be able to nerf yourself to play with friends when you don't want to be op though

  9. So people are not having fun collecting mounts, toys and full arsenals and regalia because some sweaty farmers are breaking the game with how powerful they made their characters in a mode especially designed to build dragon ball characters? Wasn't that the actual fucking idea of this event? Cloak of INFINITE power !
What the actual fuck is even wrong with this community? Nothing seems to ever please people. Nothing.
I honestly go like… Equip Ward gem. Spam bullshit skills that make as much screen clutter as possible for the fuck of it, spam toys and loot everything. I don't know about you people.. but considering I didn't waste 60hs farming brainlessly to build my gear I can accept being carried by tryhards. It's perfect.
And crying about how hard it is to make bronze is retarded. I got 120k on my first char with 20hs of normal (meaning I wasted as much time as possible) gameplay and I honestly already got everything I wanted from the shops. And I still plan to level 2 more toons. That is literally more bronze that I care to spend. Feeling forced to farm bronze because "reasons" you impose on you own self is just your brain falling for the most basic bitch fomo tactics. Snap the fuck out of it and just enjoy the fucked up awesome ride. And also salute the tryhards. You are literally profiting from their hard work and you still bitch about it :))

  10. I certainly stopped playing Remix, not fun getting locked out of boss fights while guy one shots boss. Maybe if I cared about mounts but I got most of them back in the day.

  11. Blizzard's response to remix have been incredibly disappointing, but not nearly as disappointing as the legions of players meta-slaving the shit out of what was supposed to be a fun and casual event.

  12. O great… fast-paced movement based mounted combat in a game that's designed around slow-paced tab-based combat with a janky-camera and fairly slow movent at the best of times.
    That will totally mix well…..

Seriously though; I get the appeal, but can we please just accept the limitations of the WoW combat engine instead of constantly trying to make it faster paced by throwing random nonsense at the game regardless of how well it mashes with the core engine….

  13. 8:19 can I let the assmons of the world do all the pew pew for me while I spend my bronze on the cool cosmetics? Ugh 😩 too bad I don’t have the spirit to play… I mean I do, but I can’t 😔

  14. Watched this yesterday, before the May 29 hotfix came out. Boy howdy, in that hotfix Blizzard took the hot mess that is Remix and made it a dumpster fire. The US forum is more that your typical feces spectacle, it's now an extraordinary feces spectacle. On aerial combat: No, thank you (emphatically). I already spend a third of my Dragonflight time with a bin bag over my lap.
