Telogrus Rift – Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Legion

Telogrus Rift is the fragmented remains of an ancient, Void-infested world that was destroyed long ago by a powerful being, killing the “great ones” that inhabited it.
The destruction scarred space-time itself, and left fragments of the shattered world teetering on the brink of the Void, inside a rift in the very fabric of reality known as Telogrus Rift. This is where the void elves have taken residence, but unchecked Void energies ravage the floating islands, forming a growing Voidstorm that might one day even consume the big island entirely.
The first Azerothian to discover the existence of Telogrus Rift was the high elf necromancer Dar’Khan Drathir through his studies of the Void, believing the rift held an ancient object of unspeakable might. Despite his extensive research, however, Drathir was never able to access the shattered world.
Around the end of the Argus Campaign, a group of blood elf exiles, banished from Quel’Thalas for their Void experiments and led by Magister Umbric, succeeded in reaching Telogrus Rift after finding the work done by Dar’Khan Drathir. They entered the world in search of the powerful item that eluded Drathir and hoped to use it to harness the powers of the Void. There, joined by the legendary Alleria Windrunner and her ally, the elves began trying to open an unspeakably ancient and mysterious cube they discovered in the area. Doing so, however, opened the way for Nether-Prince Durzaan, who overwhelmed those gathered and began a ritual to transform them into servants of the Void.
Alleria and her ally, however, managed to defeat Durzaan and his forces, including the Void monstrosity Nhr’ghesh, and free Umbric and the other elves. Though Durzaan’s ritual was not completed, the process had permanently changed Umbric’s blood elves, turning them into void elves. In the aftermath of these events, these “ren’dorei” decided to make Telogrus Rift their new base of operations, and pledged their loyalty to the Alliance through Alleria. She remained on Telogrus to teach her kin how to use and control their newfound powers.

  1. A "quick" video… Something which is too small to qualify as a full zone, I only dedicated 30 minutes because there isn't much to film there.

I have been meaning to do this for years… but seeing the zone being revisited in the Harbringer scenario (10.2.7) gave me a new reason to do it. I've used for the video the Alied Race scenario, the regular zone and the Harbringer scenario. Anyway… I hope you enjoy it… I find the music both mysterious and beautiful.

Did you enjoy this video? Give it a like, listen to more (playlist links below), subscribe. Do you want to further support my work? Details in the video description.

  2. this place, this music, this whole atmosphere is completely different than all the other zones in the game.

it seems to be just a piece of rocks floating in space, but you feel there is a greater mystery behind this place. Just one look at the skybox of this place makes feel that the Warcrat universe is much larger than we think. Somewhere in this darkness there are beings greater than the Old Gods or demons waiting, and whats worse, trying to get here…

  3. When I made my first Void Elf, I was absolutely mesmerized by how beautiful the zone was even though it was small, and the music caught me so off guard with how fitting it was. Thank you for this video.

  4. It may be a small place, but Telogrus is so full of intrigue, mystery, personality and uniqueness that it deserves its own video, and what a better time to have one than now, in the star of the World Soul Saga.

In fact, I think for such a small place, it has way more potential and allure that many full-fledged zones, and I dont think this is the last time we set foot again on those purple floating rocks.

Plus the David Lynch-esque, Twilight zone-like music is unlike anything that I've heard in wow, I really love it!!

Thank you so much for this gem of a video Meisio!

  5. It's very unfortunate that both:
    A. This zone is very underutilized
    B. This music plays nowhere else

If either of those were not the case, things would be better

  6. I was not aware of this place, but then I was not paying much attention to retail WoW that much. Could someone explain to me how can we get the access to the zone?
    Great video, as always @Meisio
