  1. My only critique is the whole overly friendly persona of Ferryn. Im all down for staying positive and never giving up hope. But when someone calls me friend in every sentence, I start to wonder what theyre hiding.

  2. By far, my favorite character is Faerin Lothar. I may get hate for it but, I don't care. I like her because she is a female character that remains feminine w/ none of the woke BS. I thought they did a good job with her character.

  3. Pretending Faerin is a good character is how you know Bellular is cooked and stopped telling the truth.
You can see the look on Matt's face, he obviously doesn't agree but says nothing and instead gives half hearted agreements.

  4. You cucking for Blizzard is funny, but sticking in a DEI character that checks every block doesn't make a Franchise better (though I guess for you it does), the rest of us require actual characters and not Mary Sues. Is Blizzard going to have to learn the Acolyte way?

  5. I disagree mostly… the writing makes Faerin come on too strong, her virtue extremely explicit, preachy, and is implemented in a heavy handed fashion (even reading to orphans, come on). Anduin is basically used to make Faerin look good (as the wise mentor). Speaking of Anduin, he remains a wimp, and has been since forever–Blizzard could perhaps change that at some point. The Magni stuff was unearned IMO, as his condition covered several expansions and then, all of a sudden, there was this new rock guy civilization and boom! Within a couple of introductory quests, Magni is back…ish… not as a badass dwarven king, but primarily a reformed father and grandfather. WW is decent, but the story is not great, and it lacks "edge"–and much of it feels very rushed. However, it could be that since I left after the first little bit of Shadowlands I am not very familiar with the poor writing of the last two expansions. WoW players could be so starved for decent stories, that WW looks like Shakespeare after having gone through Shadowlands and Dragon Flight. Since I didn't endure that, that could be why I don't understand what all the hype is about. WW just seems decent, nothing more.

  6. I won't go on the extreme and bring up DEI or whatever people are mad about. But Faerin is a mediocre character at best. At first it's okay she's an optimistic person in a bad situation. Then towards the end it turned into eye-rolling preachy mess who can do no wrong. It's clear that if the Arathi turn on us she's going to have some kind of faith crisis that Anduin brings her out of then she goes back to her shtick.

  7. Side Quests have always been where the real meat of WoW lives. If you go through almost any list of "Best Quests in WoW history", the overwhelming majority of them will be side quests.

BTW, did we ever recover the portal to Dreadscar Rift (the Warlock Order Hall) from the beach? I remember using the soulstone to rez Risstlyn after he had been impaled on it when it landed, but can't remember if it's still there. If so, probably not something we should just let lay around.

  8. Something that I noticed is that in Dragonflight it seemed like for the most part cutscenes were used for dialogue between characters and usually happened after major events. So far in TWW something interesting or impactful actually happens in most of the cutscenes. I hope they keep that up with the story in the patches. It really makes a difference when cutscenes seem important. We can save a lot of the dialogue scenes that happen during gameplay or for the "stay a while and listen" options.

  9. I'd be surprised if the Goblin patch doesn't revolve around Void corruption. I mean, they're basically self corrupted anyway. I can imagine something like, the whispers telling them "Dig deep…..deeper. Fortune ever favours the bold……"

  10. Adding to the discussion, I like Faerin! I was afraid they would go full diversity checklist, but outside of a few hiccups she feels like an actual character to me. There were a few times I rolled my eyes though, first being the over optimism during the hallowfell void invasion and the other when she refused an arm prosthetic(something about the scene just felt too checklisty to me)

  11. one of my favourite things about this expansion is that they’ve put older characters, both minor and major around the world. Little things like having Aysa Cloudsinger and Ji Firepaw teaching the Earthen monks, and characters like Ritsyn Flamescowl and Meryl Felstorm being in the Dalaran wreckage make the world seem so much more realistic. Of course these characters would be there- even if they don’t have any lines or contribute to the story at all. having pretty important, powerful people just standing around in Stormwind or Orgrimmar or missing just doesn’t make sense so it’s nice to see them all make little cameos

  12. I'm not really paying all that much attention, but I'm watching the cinematics and am still pretty bored with it all. The Alleria and Xala dynamic was done about as well in Shadowlands between Sylvannas and Tyrande (which is not great). Alleria pulling an Anduin and getting mentally manipulated into doing incredibly stupid things is also groan-worthy. That said, I do like Faerin's voice acting direction though. She sounds so soft and feminine.

  13. People dont have to play the expansion for 6 months. Buy the game get a sub for say two months enjoy it a bit and you will have money well spent. Theere are many games you could not even enjoy for a week that cost more.

  14. It's better but still very bland, there's a lack of grit or real impact even in the 'big' moments and very short overall. After playing Shadowbringer in FF14 the bar to be impressed is set pretty high.
A lot of War Withinwas already in place, I'm hoping we feel the Impact of Metzen's return even more in the next expansion. Also where were the Horde?

  15. Well, I started playing world of warcraft, because I thought the vibe is cool with the war between Orcs and Dwarves, etc. Nowadays it feels like, it was written by a balding millenial, who lives in one of these gentrified modern eco-buildings and drinks soy-latté every morning, while writing in social media about the evil patriarchy, or whatever social topic is popular currently. And honestly, that's fine, I respect other humans, but I'm not the target audience anymore for this type of writing

  16. Some MANY whining about DEI, while ignoring they're just mad because the "boxes" THEY like aren't checked. The VAST majority of WoW caters them. Not to mention the VAST majority of media, since it's inception, in this and many other forms. Oh no! A disabled person in a WAR ZONE where the only choice is to fight (and be good at it) or lay down and die. How dare! I'm missing a leg, among other things, and I was a decent wrestler in HS. I beat MANY "normal" people. Disabled people CAN be competent in combat situations, especially if they have no choice! And if they are alive, you can bet they're better than most normies because they literally had to work harder to adapt to the situation. Also, holding on to your faith IN THEIR POSITION would be literally all they have, of course it's going to HEAVILY color their personality. You only see a TINY fraction of those that live in the universe, you interact with even less, a couple of them are going to be different than you, that's reality. Stop looking at it from your safe observer point of view and look at it like it's actually there, like THEY are actually there. And realize there is still more happening we don't see, we aren't perfect observers. Hell, in a universe like that, we might not even be reliable observers. I seriously don't get the ignorance. As for the other shit, (race, orientation, etc.) I don't give a shit. these people exist in life, there is no problem seeing them in a game. Maybe mommy told you you were special a bit too much when you were little, but you're not. You're opinion is fine to have, but it changes nothing. Other groups of people don't stop existing just because of your feelings.

  17. A guess is that when the Hallowfall Arathi FINALLY manage to regain contact with the Empire they get rejected. Seen as tainted for their association with the other races of Azeroth they become "unbound" as well. After that they become a playable race. Paladins are a favoured class.

  18. But WoW still sucks. They are trying too hard to stay relevant in the MMO field. The way the game is made and programmed is completely broken with how in-game (non-rendered) cinematic scenes are done. It gives you Sonic Adventure 2 vibes with how their characters faces and bodies flap about when talking or interacting. Plus the characters are cringe AF.
