So Queen Ansurek was already defeated, the nerubian storyline was quite predictable and most of us thought this was the end, just a filler storyline but a few new documents emerged hinting at the mad forgotten Queen of the old. An ancient Nerubian Queen that had insatiable hunger for conquest, that created the first civil war of the Nerubian empire and for this she was exiled into the depths of the earth. No one has seen her ever since, some presume she was lost.
If she made a bargain with the void in the past they might have preserved her and this might be exactly who Xal’atath needs next for her new nerubian army, a warmongering Queen that will hate the nerubian rebels that exiled her. Who is Queen Zaltra, why was she exiled and could this be the next big villain of the War Within?

I can see that the mad queen actually being Xal'atath. She's got a deal with the old gods who were offering eternal life. But they tricked and imprisoned her in the blade.
she is ingame. a little above a questing area at 54,20 Azj-Kahet.
she is probably the NPC "mad Nerubian" hanging around and talking about how she is the long lost Queen.

Nerubians do not live for a long time. They have a similar lifespan to humans, if not shorter.

I'd be fine with a Nerubian Mega Dungeon but another Nerubian raid would be lazy even by Blizz standards.

makes sense with earthen getting their memories "erased" and stored so if we help them restore the mechanism that stores the memories xalatath will get her hands on it and find the mad queen

theres anouther narubian that tells stories to the little kids, its a "sage" that someone imprisioned inside something, when trying to reach for the water below it would dry, when it would reach threw the roots above it would consrtict.
Most likely the next patch villain is going to be Iridikron. Xal'atath has him digging up something but I doubt it's another Nerubian Queen.

My theory is the Mad Nerubian is a nerubian that came across the remains of Zaltra, took her strands, and along with her knowledge got her memories, so they now think they're her. Or perhaps Zaltra did it on purpose, passing her strands down a long line of nerubian vessels to effectively cheat death
Nerubians are not "creatures of the void". It's clear they are insects that have been corrupted and evolved with void magic. Possibly azeroth's power like the trolls then void corrupted after gaining sentience. Void is nothingness. There cant be creatures there other than "beings" of pure void energy.
So.. that fresco everyone thinks is an old god? That's a representation of this mad queen devouring her people, isn't it?
So that "Mad Nerubian" IS important….intersting. I believe that Nerubian is that exiled queen! Blizz isnt't going to place that Nerubian for no reason. We find that Mad Nerubian for a very good reason, and that reason is exactly what you just explained. Good going sir!

I'd also like to mention that blizzard did add a trinket that drops from Ansurek thats called the Mad queens mandate
