The title says it all. The War Within has been an awesome experience so far, and it really feels like a return to the World of Warcraft that I’ve been dreaming about and reminiscing about for so long.
This makes me excited for what the future may hold for not only this expansion, but the expansions beyond in the Worldsoul Saga.

1. The quest addons and UI addons I use are Dialogue UI and Plumber, they're both great and I highly recommend both for more immersion.
2. Your feedback about also slowing down and enjoying the game is inspiring, and reading your personal stories is awesome!

This is exactly what made me lose interest in ff14. Being the "main character, or chosen one" in a mmo story shouldn't be the focus, its the inactivity you have with the NPCs and other PCs along the way and traveling the world.
body1, body2, bearded women… yes wow totally feels like a game aga…oh wait: So basically human mental illness has been twisted so much that abnormality has become the new norm. This is concerning. And it disgusts me. Alot.

Shadowlands just such a disappointment. The reveal cinematic was sooo cool and badass and then we gotta a stick covered in poo.

thanks for sharing your thoughts. i love WoW and have loved things about every expac but eventually it all becomes a nagging chore to me. i think you’re right that it comes down to mindset. but i can’t help min max because I want to be the best i can be… but eventually i resent it for feeling mandatory. i’m sick in the head 😭i’m better off playing single player games

Sadly, the reason we may have been able to enjoy the game and smell the flowers, is because Season 1 hasn't started. No M+ grind, no raid hysteria, no obsessing about ilevels and min-maxing.
Let's see if we are able to enjoy the game once that starts again or if we'll revert back to old bad habits.

It always baffled me when people rushed through the content, not read anything, not take their time etc , just to get to max lv asap to finally start playing (raiding).
To me, the quests, travels, lore etc is the game.
To this day, my best memories are when I was questing and discovering everything. I tried out the newer content a while ago and it felt awful how quickly you level up. I barely did a hand full of quests before they turned grey 🙁

Hallowfall really blew me away. Ringing deeps kinda sucked but yeah. Ajkahet is awesome too it feels like spider Suramar.
The culture point really hits the nail on the head about what feels so much more meaningful about this xpac. This is my first xpac where I'm wanting to play alts and quest more than anything else because I want to uncover the lore and secrets and CULTURE! Great video

As for me, no matter how good is expansion or graphics, WoW just can't give me the same feelings as when I was a 17-year-old playing Wrath of Lich King for the first time, grinding dungeons with friends or arena rating, it just doesn't work like that, and I will not return 👋

Im back since WoD (~7 years) and it’s been so good.
lived in is the key. thats why WOTLK was so cool is we got weapons as quest rewards because we were in an active war not because its time to upgrade you to a new ilevel bracket
Have some faith in your first analysis. This is copium. It feels like half a game now, half a stakeholder fueled pay-to-work job. You can explore and do lots of side stuff, but you're rushed from the start to do the MSQ for world-ending stakes. You still have giant rings and arrows and the ever-present quest log influencing you where and when (NOW) to go. It's still bombarding you with flashy, vocalized open world quests that remove the sence of exploration in favor of farming shards of azeroth's soul to upgrade your gear.

I'd reserve judgment until the honeymoon phase is over. It's still retail to me: the world feels small, the open world is way too easy, no one talks, there's no community, everything that matters is instanced content, etc. etc.
I'm on the verge of starting again just because the fact alot of people say this. The game is a game once more I just dont want to be feeling bad again for putting all those hours in there again.
It's gaming evolution. There should always be things to do but with variety. The current WOW formula, for those who don't want to chase rabbits around Goldshire (like yourself), is a shallow grind loop that is repeated until you max out then when that happens it will be timed exactly to coincide with the next bit of content. The other side to WOW, i.e. the hardcore side, is a game within itself – like theorycrafting or playing the auction house. The simple days of running around not knowing what to do are over. That's our problem for being too good at adapting to things. Now we have the internet telling us everything about everything so you don't need to think. Take that away and games would be way different, more sociable, more demanding and ultimately more rewarding but sadly that's not going to happen.
Amazing how many things they … borrowed from Turtle WoW. Luckily they won't be able to replicate it good enough to recruit me back at any rate. Turtle WoW > retail wow.
I think the new level scaling sucks. There should be zones that are a higher and lower lvl than you at all times.
Not to me tbh. Dragonflight felt more genuinely fun whereas everything in this new expansion feels like work/a slog to get through.

Its a 20 year old game, get a move on brother you are just nostalgic. It will never be the same and we are getting older and tastes are changing, people are having kids, developing their family its the true quest 🙂 Roleplaying is just another word for escapism

Well the game now it's good, but I gave up Retail because of people… Only rude people that hurry up on everithing… Got lots of kicks because of not that huge pulls as tank 🙂 So… ty, but Retail it's a dump hole now, only bc of playera
