Here's the thing. They weren't supposed to be fighting for their lives. They were supposed to be running for their lives. Even if he had used his mana Jan, if he had recovered maximum mana, he could not have changed the situation.
If my 300 hours was on the line, I'd have done the exact same thing; save my ass. It's hardcore. You're supposed to play smart. Especially if you're a mage.

Tbf most people are not really mad at the roach, they are mad that pirate said it was everyone else's fault, and when he finally said everyone made mistakes, he never said what he could have done better.yes they should have continued to run and regroup, and he should have assisted in this retreat. This is not the first time either he has done it in AoC. He also refuses to conced points on things like the Stop killing games situation where he calls Ross a sleazy care sales man and an asshole and refuses to talk
I dont hate Pirate I want him to be better. I like his content for the most part, but he acts like he is the smartest person in the room which he might very well be but it's condescending and rude.
The fact of the matter is, the guy in charge said to run. You can't call run then be like "nvm", but not say anything. Also that extra 25% still wouldn't have kept the run from ending.
It's not even the fact that he's a bad player that matters, it's mostly the stance he took on this whole thing .. Everybody did mistakes in that party, but he's just an asshole about it. It's ok to make mistakes, just own them.

I like a lot of your content, Storm, but I really don't understand why you would cover what amounts to WoW guild drama. Your gameplay content is great. There was no need to feed the toxicity machine.
Even though you are not being toxic yourself, per se, this "drama" is only drama because the terminally online horde of toxic viewers need something to get them semi-hard, and covering this carcass that was DoA and that all the hyenas have come to pick its bones clean just isn't your look.

If anyone looks closely, he did a blizzard and the boss was immune; not to mention, the first call was "run!" and he did exactly that as he cast the blizzard in attempt to slow the boss and to help the party. Did PirateSoftware speak like a condescending ass? Maybe. But did the rest of the party behave like butthurt children, and accost him for making the right decision? Definitely.
