This is my breakdown of how to play Protection Paladin for Mythic Plus and some what for Raid. Shadowlands Season one I’ve achieved Ahead of the Curve and Shadowlands Keystone Master and in this video I share my general approach to spells, rotation, UI, conduits, and techniques.

There are definitely many variations to this build and Venthyr is also VERY strong if you play it correctly. So much is personal preference and in Mythic Plus even more is about the party utility.

It’s also worth mentioning that I mostly PUG and only about 10% of the time or less have Discord or a partial friend or guild groups. So my tactics are VERY defensive. Prot Paladins can do more damage if they aren’t fighting to survive via Talents and Conduits.

There are several other viable Legendaries. I prefer the SOTR one for threat and easy mode uncapped AOE. The AShield one is generally strong for interrupts and damage. The Endless Kings is situational for higher keys where you are getting close to one shot through mitigation, its the meta leggo for Ret and Holy at the moment for the same reason. You get Gaurdians of the Ancient Kings (plus free WOG) every 45 secs.

If you aren’t dying ever in keys, you can drop the cheat death trinket and go PVP Haste trinket to get 25% or higher haste. Or the Castle Nathria SLG verse or Sire trinket, if you can get it.

    Nice guide! I'm going to try out blessed hammer again. Loved it whilst levelling and my prot paladin hasn't felt the same since I switched to the Icy Veins recommended Holy Shield. If you can +15 with it, it's good enough for me!

  8. Could you look more heavily into holy avenger. Math wise I have seen you can get more holy power, and get more holy power spenders per dungeon than either of the other two. Not only that, but having the ability to cast a word of glory every other holy power builder is such a great way to save the group in a bad situation. Pop wings into holy avenger and argent defender, you are just crazy dps or heals, or both.
