  5. I have done a lot of testing with Deathbolt when I was NightFae. What I found is to maximize the tooltip explanation:
    "dealing 40% of the remaining dot dmg".
    So use the Agony conduit with the agony talent allowing it to reach higher stacks.

    Setup
    1 Agony -> Corruption -> Siphon Life
    2 Wait for agony to get max stacks, 18 with talents and longer duration with conduit
    3 When Agony is as maxed stacks use this dot order
    Siphon -> Corruption -> Cast UA and spam agony to refresh it's time.
    4 Cast all dmg modifiers and trinkets
    5 Cast Deathbolt

    Goal:
    Maximize the dmg of deathbolt by putiing your two largest dots last, so they have the most time remaining and will contribute to DB dmg.

    Or if you have the corruption talent, it changes to a 24 second duration in PvP, which is greater than a non-talented corruption with only 18sec duration, so you get more corruption duration to buff your deathbolt dmg with the corruption talent.

    SIDE NOTE:
    as Necro, if you have a shadow-bolt proc ready, cast deathbolt then spamming shadowbolt to go off as soon as the deathbolt cast finishes causes the crit modifier to carry over to the next instant cast ability.

    I noticed this with demonology, hard casting a Demonbolt without an instant cast proc and only 1 Shard of Annihilation remaining, then getting a Demonbolt instant cast during the hard cast and launching both simulataneouly, causes them both to crit even though there was only 1 shard left.

    But haven't tested that aspect for Shadowbolt insta cast.

    PS, I bet there is a cheese build with haunt that would increase the deathbolt dmg but sometimes blizzard doesn't code int he correct compounding percentage increases, so even though the haunt talent says:
    "..increases your dmg dealt to the target by 10%"
    My testing has shown it doesn't always carry over.

    Downside:
    The setup………….
    Trying to get something like this going in arena is nearly impossible, the biggest crit I got in arena before 9.1 was 23k against 1500 geared players…..

  6. its one of the biggest problems for affliction atm where you deal no damage with normal dots because its all tied up in soul rot and ua and phantom and darksoul and rapid contagion being active ….but then a healer just dispels the stack in 1 cast and takes maybe 13-14k dmg… because ua doesnt absorb dispels or block dispel…or scale with how much damage is on the target… so you can get things like corrupting leer at 226ilvl+ + soul rot conduit + rapid contagion and use darkglare every minute with soul rot making your soul rot alone deal over 25k dmg per cast on only 1 target potentially over 75k if you hit max targets…. but it just gets dispelled and you cant do anything else with your cds because all your dmg is on cd again

  8. I was getting into affliction at the tail end of bfa cause I loved stacking a bunch of unstable afflictions and casting death bolt for that burst.

    Quickly stopped myself before i went farther after seeing the class changes for Shadowlands…
