Shadowlands Professions Review

One thing that not a lot of people are talking about with Shadowlands is professions—what reagents will we get? What recipes can we create? Will it be rewarding?

Having played since Vanilla and been interested in professions since then, I’ve seen quite a bit with professions—and I have to say I’m not super-impressed with the recipes I’ve seen in Wowhead. I’m hoping more is coming: more reagents, more recipes that make it rewarding to get the reagents and that make progressing in your profession more rewarding, more variety in professions in general, and more places where the flavor is carried forward from reagents into final product.

  1. I guess the telltale sign you do not get things is the fact you are a clicker in 2020.

The items can be upgraded on ilevel and become epic from crafting. This is a "modular" system, not a hardcoded one like back in the day, where the ilevel of the item was fixed. If you ever done high rating arena, you'd know this system exists with upgrade kits you get from winning matches over 1650 Rating. Same thing, but with crafting.

They can also expand the crafting pool easily this way, by adding the "green" version which you can slowly upgrade.

  2. AH😌! Every time I log on and see a video from you it feels like “The Return of the King”😌

That said, I can only speak for myself, but crafting has felt like the kind of thing that after Warlords, if the Devs could have dropped it completely and the only person would would say a word would be someone who played back near vanilla WoW, and stopped at TBC only to come back now and go, “Where did crafting go???” Only to be answered with a clear true, “What is this “Crafting” you speak of? Oh you mean what they do in Everquest!”

When I went from crafting bombs, guns, bikes, and MECHS, to toys that are out shine by toy drops I basically hung my goggles up 😪
