Molten Core – Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft Classic

The Molten Core was created during the War of the Three Hammers more than 300 years ago. Near the end of the war, Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron dwarves, sought to summon a powerful fire elemental to defeat the combined forces of the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. He was more successful than he could have imagined, as he released Ragnaros the Firelord from millennia of captivity under the Redridge Mountains. Ragnaros the Firelord is one of the four elemental lieutenants of the Old Gods.

Ragnaros destroyed the city of Thaurissan and created the volcano of Blackrock Mountain. He dwells there to this day with his elemental servants and the enslaved remnants of the Dark Iron dwarf clan. The burning lake where Ragnaros lies sleeping acts as a rift connecting to the plane of fire, allowing the malicious elementals to pass through.

After Dagran Thaurissanโ€™s death, Moira Thaurissan, hoping to free the Dark Iron dwarves from the fire elementalsโ€™ rule, made sure the people of Azeroth knew about the threat of the elementals and about riches hidden deep below Blackrock Mountain. When Azerothโ€™s heroes, recruited by the Hydraxian Waterlords, carefully moved through the Molten Core, killing the greatest of the fire elementals, vicious flamewakers, corehounds and their monstrous father, Magmadar, and even Majordomo Executus, and ultimately Ragnaros.

  1. Molten Core raid was created in one week. You can tell that when you look at NPC models which look the same, the simple encounters and the music which is reused and pretty bad ๐Ÿ™‚

But I had so much fun raiding this countless times.

  2. Ah yes. The memories.

Right before my guild entered MC, I had specced into ret to get blessing of might. My guild all cheered on comms cause of that and excitement. Healing as a ret pally was not easy, and having to rebuff every 5 mins was annoying. It was the beginning of a six year raiding stint with those guys.

    Thank you for the nostalgia.

  3. Spent so much time learning the bosses, wiping and finally getting the hang of clearing this zone with guild mates back in the day! Always love the nostalgia, Meisio.. makes the work days feel more epic ๐Ÿ™‚ keep them coming!

  4. just imagine: 2005, while most big guilds were finishing blackwing lair, a small guild from south america, with only 25 capable raiders, were killing the first few bosses in MC. we needed manpower fast. then, when i was a noob 58 warrior with no knowledge of the game, my GM contacted me, asked me to join the raid grp and learn the fights fast. i was told to stay back, not to agro mobs, and join to dps. Then, on Garr, we needed tanks. Our main tank asked me, can you hold that mob? do you have a shield? i was, yes, i can do it…..and that was it for me….from that day onward, i became, to this day, a main tank.

  5. I think this place is special to the hearts of many of us. The sprawling Dwarven architecture, the grand halls, the statues carved into the rock, the foreboding atmosphere…Blackrock Mountain is truly majestic. Aye, the music is reused, the models were all designed in simpler times, but I feel like its atmosphere outweighs that. From Blackrock Depths to Blackrock Spire, to Molten Core and eventually Blackwing Lair, this place is a trove of ancient memories and unforgettable experiences. As always, your posts always brightens my day, thank you. โค

  6. Got into MC right before BC dropped so it didn't feel the same. In Classic I finally got the experience the beginning of the raiding scene and it was a blast getting to go in there, but due to time constraints just couldn't do the weekly grind so after Rag fell the second week I called it.

But music like this is just so refreshing while working and reminds me of the excitement back then.

  7. Thank you so much for these videos again Meisio! Really enjoyed this one the last couple days ๐Ÿ™‚
I always dig Dungeon & Raid Music+Ambience. One question/request (no stress haha): I just recently came across the Battle of Mount Hyjal Theme from the Raid and it's so awesome โ€“ any plan to do this for a video? Can't seem to find a proper full hour video with music and ambience + I could imagine that'd be really hard bc the theme isn't that diverse ๐Ÿ™

But anyhow I wish you all the best Meisio and see you again soon! <3

  8. I have been trying to figure out how to do those slow panning shots, but I can't find the answer. How do you do them?

Great stuff btw. Your videos make my job as a food delivery guy a lot more chill.
