There are new kinds of World Quests in Dragonflight patch 10.2.5 where a tutorial would be helpful, and one was provided.
But just in case, here’s a tutorial using their tutorial, with the hopes of making a more effective tutorial of the tutorial. And now I’ve just ruined the word.

  1. I really didn’t like this system at first and thought it was way worse than old archeology, if this does replace it. After doing it a few times, it’s not as bad. If they made archeology this via world quests in all zones, it’s better than the old way. They would have to make it so lower level characters could do the world quests.

  2. The post intro questline which has you doing the same technoscrying with the goggles and excavation with the totems in the other dragonflight zone is still bugged and you will lose your progress on you final excavation % for the major excavation if another player turns up and tries to do their quest at the same time. Either hop to a shard where you are alone or do it in warmode on. For some reason the intro version you did in this quest works fine but when you try do the version that comes later in the questline it's buggy as hell.

The one in zaralek cavern is the worst offender of this, but the one on the forbidden reach also does it.

  3. Thank you for the video. It seemed a little wonky when I was doing it. Have they said whether or not they're going to remove the old archy? Should we start trying to get toys & such from the old before it's removed?

  4. This new system is a whopping big fail. The intro quests are buggy and frustrating. The actual dailies are not able to be completed. Please feed back to blizzard, the old system with new rewards would be so much better! Not to mention a waste of two bag slots… 🙁

  5. Less than two minutes in and I'm already less confused. I got absolutely frustrated yesterday trying to figure it all out and I was far from the only one. Chat was full of cranky people. I couldn't figure out why my dirt mounts kept going away and it was a while before I realized it meant I failed the 'balance' thing, which was nuts on it's own. You use water.. BOOM, you were in opposite end and failed. You hit dirt and it flew to the other end. There was no balancing anything. Thanks for this!

  6. What was wrong with the way it has been done for years? I liked the old way. This new way seems like a bunch of unnecessary stuff, that takes longer, more messing around…I do like the little elemental….cute hat. Other than that…I vote for the way it was.

  7. "Only a minority of players enjoy Archeology. So, let's make a mess of buggy, confusing quests that no one enjoys, that's a great idea!" Screw you, Ion. Break a leg. Seriously, both actually. No, I don't mean good luck. Side note, I loved Arch, also like fishing ingame. Sometimes you just want to chill out, relax and do something mindless while watching Youtube or something. Not every minute of every day has to be a mass of fireworks and seizure-inducing flashing chaos all over your monitor.

  8. I didn't dislike it conceptually, but it is just so incredibly buggy right now. I never even got that balance meter to show up during the final phase, basically flying blind PS. The c in excavate is a hard k sound.

  9. The tutorial was clear as mud. It was continually unclear what the game wanted me to do. You shouldn't need youtube and/or wowhead (or raidbots for that matter) to figure out what you need to do. Blizzard seems to be relying more and more on third party/outside sources to explain their game to players. Slow down, Blizz, and finish your game before release.
