You don't even know what GDKP brought to wow, a hundred thousand bots, a ruined economy, and inflated prices, good they banned that stupid GDKP system 🙂 maybe now will be able to see legit players and not only bots.
Banning GDKPs is a step forward for blizzard trying new things out. Its not amazing but its a step in the right direction to try it out. I think you need to have a more open mind about it because you need to realise that you are the top 0.001% of players who play 10 hours a day with 10+ characters.
Well Blizzard is taking a different approach, also maybe lowering the barrier of entry for the old wow version but also adding new stuff to make it somewhat fresh for the veteran players and capping the levels so people like you that are optimizing their huge amount of playtime to get something of "worth" out of it don't raid MC rn by doing gdkps. I like the changes, but i also don't dump 10 hours a day into the game. I know a lot of people that started the game and havn't ever played wow before and also a lot of returning players that havn't played in 5 years or more and I think GDKPs are ruining their game because they can not know where or what to farm or how to make properly gold or are even struggeling with getting 50g to prepare for next phase and then dumping that into gear that gets mostly obsolete next phase. In terms of GDKP you may dislike it, being a responsible warlord, but many out their arn't, and are forcing people to buy items even if it is almost no upgrade at all or otherwise you won't get gold. So in terms of character optimizing, GDKPs are important, but until the gold buyers out there stop buying, gdkp's are more of a way to lower the gold value than actually providing a good mechanic from preventing drops to be trash bc no one needs them. Also tokens are coming so that argument is only half valid here. In terms of dungeon finder i highly disagree here. In SOD the main focus is the world building and discorvering and there are many other wow versions out there with dungeon finder and an almost empty world. I always find someone to kill or professions to do while waiting on someone. Lets be real here. SOD is not for optimizing the fun out of the game like other versions of wow, even tho the playerbase tries to.
People just love to blame outside factors to excuse their own laziness and incompetence. Loudest anti GDKPers are usually ones that never got into one in the first place. Common knowledge among those is that GDKP inflates prices because of bots yada yada. However bots are the only reason they get so cheap consumables and can actually afford any raiding doing like a quest per day on a capped char. Banning most versatile loot system is pretty sad, however now we will see the shift of opinions in the community so they dont have to ban GDKPs in other game versions. pretty smart on blizz tbh

Just because you are loud doesn't mean you are right, GDKP is absolutely terrible and some games should pose a challenge so cut the crap about titles being hard to get.
Let me explain something to you guys, If you get into the passenger seat of a car that is in the process of being stolen by your friend and try to claim that it wasn't you who stole the car your still going to get some time for being an accessory to the crime. There is no such thing as a natural GDKP player…its an utter fallacy and if you take part in GDKP you are part of the problem.
Why isn't blizzard banning the gold buyers you ask? That is called cutting the tail off the snake, why bother when you can cut the head off the snake.
It IS hard to spot gold buyers because gold is exchanged for any numbers of reasons not necessarily discussed in-game and can be perfectly legit or not, there is no real way of knowing weather a gold exchange is illegal or not.
Banning gdkp is the best way because that is easies to find out and we know they create botters. Nobody wants SoD to turn into late-game classic era with hundreds thousands of gold for a single piece of gear. Just play the damn game like it was supposed to and roll like everybody else.
If you’re full bis with a character, make another one. Unless you literally have 1 character for every class in full bis, i don’t wanna hear complaints about not being able to raid. Besides, phase 2 is gonna have about triple the amount of raid gear compared to P1 so its gonna take much longer to bis now anyway: Even if you played every waken hour, you couldn’t possibly full bis every class in phase 2 before phase 3 arrives. GDKP has no place in SoD.
The ones that watch GDKP to be in the game
Have friends that buy gold
So vicariously they are buying the gold for the people that want the Gd kp to still be around
i had like 600g in sod with 3 lvl 25 hunters and did all the quests, i ran gdkps and rather enjoy the that loot method, its great for making gold and if nothing in a run drops you want at least you get some gold for your time. sure there are some that buy gold and are bidding stupid amounts, sadly i wasnt in any of those runs on my server. Quit raiding with a guild in wotlk and only run gdkps and i have 7 toons 6k gs+ and over 1 mil gold from alch and running several gdkps a week
This is a good decision but let’s be honest, Blizzard has never enforced their own ToS.
If they aren’t banning gold-buyers, they aren’t going to ban players for participating in a specific type of loot-system.
