+15 Motherlode Mythic Plus Dungeon 2 Chested on a Protection Paladin in the Shadowlands Pre-Patch of World of Warcraft. Affixes = Tyrannical, Bursting, Skittish, Awakened.
I just wanted to mess around on my Alt Paladin with the 3x Light’s Decree build before it goes away in Shadowlands. It’s really fun, I wish I had played it sooner.
With the Light’s Decree Azerite Trait when you have your “wings” up you do an AoE burst of Holy Damage every time you spend Holy Power. And then you run the Vision of Perfection Major Azerite Essence to give yourself random “wings” procs / a reduced cooldown, and then a talent that makes “wings” cooldown quicker as well.
When it all lines up right on a big pull, it can do a ton of damage. As you can see around the 11:10 mark, breaking 11k DPS as a Tank is pretty cool. Too bad it’s bursting this week and therefore more difficult to do large AoE pulls, where this build really excels. Still, it was fun to try out and when my cooldowns lined up on big pulls the damage output was solid for a tank.
I don’t have perfect gear as this is an alt, and I obviously make a lot of silly mechanic mistakes here. I also definitely need to heal more and use my defensives better as well. But for just messing around on an Alt with 2 pugs in the group I think it went fine. I’m glad I tried out this build before it’s gone.
Light’s Decree is technically a Retribution Trait, but you can use it as Prot if you swap to Ret to select the trait, and then swap back and use the gear in Prot spec.

(For some reason this link is showing my Holy gear instead of my Prot gear at the time of this posting, but the main thing you need to know is the 3x Light’s Decree Azerite Traits, the Righteous Protector Talent, and the Vision of Perfection Major Azerite Essence)
