Bots should not have the excuse of complaining about being griefed against legitimate players killing them.
The GM involved should have the power to investigate the issue directly and be able to judge the bot a bot.
Otherwise, as the current situation still, after a generation has come of age since release of the game, we live in this gaslighting trap where we cannot fight back against those (bots) who abuse us, because the abusers are protected from retaliation (justice) against them by the oh so high and mighty "justice" system.
You combat bots with a proof of life system. You account is tied to your government ID in some manner. One account per ID, period. You get flagged to many times for being suspicious, you have to confirm your ID again and proof of identity.
EVERY 46 MONTHS?
What the hell, yeah. Bots are unbeatable at this point. You should be hunting bots bi-weekly if you want to get somewhere. Monthly at the worst. The power of 14 bucks per account I guess. The secret here is finding the sweetspot in which the bot makers don't make a loss from spending the 14K in new accounts. I have to believe that sweetspot isn't every 4 years though, I bet every 3 months would be enough.
19:00 wasn't there famously incidents where drug cartels specifically hand over international tourists to the authorities, because they were going somewhere dangerous? The places you wanna look out for, is highly disorganised poor areas, and criminal hubs with no linchpin and where millions and millions of dollars aren't flowing through. If stacks of cash are flowing through a place, there will be people with interest in that money looking out for their own best interest, and part of that means never getting unnecessary eyes on them, so they go to great lenghts to make sure nothing fucks with their flow of money. This logic CAN break down in religious circumstances, where they often want attention to recruit people with anti sentiments against whatever those people represent, but they are often times also wary of the timing at which they do certain things, because if you're a somewhat organized militia, with at least a hierarchy, you're gonna be aware of how dangerous it would be to be caught out, and what happens if they don't have any leverage to slow the actually organised militaries they would be facing, if they didn't have anything to negotiate with.
There's a somewhat famous story about a youtuber who went to somewhere dangerous in the philippines, who recently wound up dead, and that was precisely because not even the locals go there, and it wasn't that organised, and he had too much money, and was too involved with bad blood. Relatively speaking, he should've wound up dead much sooner, but if publicity on that area had meant a risk to the flow of money to the criminal network there, he would've actually been safer. It's why it's so dangerous in south american countries, because the organised criminals don't make enough money for some publicity or interference of other countries to deter them. They're too close to abject poverty over there.
The company not caring about the bots, is the company not caring about the players.
How is there market for this kind of gold? How many people are playing the game still and how many actually buy shady gold? Or what is it I miss here? 2 million per month they earn by people buying gold illegaly?
Cory Doctorow once made a comicbook titled "The Real Life" or something, about bots in mmorpgs, and how we should feel sorry for this is these poor people's only chance of income, playing in these botfarm operations…
One would assume that someone like Doctorow knows better than that about how these things are run, but hey, he's a Socialist, so he won't say anything that really criticises China.
28:20 This is a bit nonsensical from the chatter xD. If you see deaththreats on a constant basis, but then afterwards come to find out, that the people making millions aren't giving you any, you can come out with 2 conclusions. They got better things to do, you're not annoying enough yet to even spare a thought to, that's the better and more likely one, if we assume people act in their own self interest logically, which is actually a leap you of faith you shouldn't always make. They're not doing anything that's traceable back to them, in order to cover up for something bigger that's on the way, and they're making due with the satisfaction of knowing you won't be a problem for very much longer. That's the bad one, the more concerning one. If you've just had a horrible week, you'll be neurotic. And if you're neurotic with no one to actively stabilise and ground you in reality, it'll almost without fail, basically assume the worst outcome for every situation, almost like magic.
heres something simple, if the game detects anything but the game code you get banned.
Onlyfangs is thor/pirate software
There's realistically only two ways to really go after bots:
1) Go after the sites that advertise the gold selling, have them shut down and sue them in court.
2) Go after the customers. If you ramp up banning people who buy gold, you get the customers scared. Less people buying gold -> less money to be made from selling gold. -> less gold selling
no one is going to stop buying gold and carries though – so, this is moot. I feel for this guy but we are a greedy bunch of insects who will feed this business.
"If I didnt have a job and I didnt have money, I'd be doing this, 100%" yeah nice one mate, this man had his life threatened, but "You'd do this".
This is exactly what i have been saying and exactly why i have told people time and time again that ban waves are dumb (from the perspective of the consumer). Blizzard keeps saying ban waves are the smart solution and most effective solution but they obviously aren't. They are clearly giving the bots time to profit before a ban happens and time to adapt their software to make it harder to track before the next wave. If blizzard genuinely cared about dealing with bots they would proactively ban bots immediately before they ever had time to turn a profit drastically limiting the incentive to even bot in the first place. But as we all know why would blizzard do that because they also turn a profit off these bots paying for sub fees and padding their bottom line to please their share holders. Ban waves are just a facade to try to please the community while giving bots just enough lee way to not leave and keep their operation running.
it's all AI and fake.
18:47 they absolutely like messing with american tourists, they know they have the most amount of money in a ransom situation.
Lol hey it's me Tyler. What's up
If WoW wasn't a subscription-based game there would be no botting. They would stamp that out fast.
I’ve never really got my head around it but what does botting mean?
Funny how wow can’t see the boy clients but EverQuest can see your using the client and see your directories on your computer.
i just spited my beer when u mention that cartels where afraid of fbi and cia, when is common knowledge that cia is the biggest cartel drug/weapon dealer
In the era of AI coding mutating and cooking codes is the easiest part now
Blizzard is making money on this too. The botters gotta buy all the new accounts right? They both in bed together.
4:30 – 5:30 Asmon describes one of my MBA courses in a nutshell
Coke in Eastern Plaguelands 😂😂
blizard sucks, they dont care about their players
This actually isn't hard to stop if you have a team at Blizzard watching gold transactions in game. You can follow the gold from the bots they ban to find other bots as that is where the gold is moving towards. Always follow the money. This is how they know who is buying gold from the bots.
But this would mean Blizzard loses 12000 subscribers for a total of $180000 a month. They wont do that…
how do they collet all the money with out taxes or gettin looked at ??
Why cant blizzard track the credit card used to pay the subscription on a banned account and just ban every account that has that credit card ever used
/shorts/Gg0QQSlWcU0
Pirate Software actually talks about this.
blizzard arent exactly in a rush to cancel 12000 subscriptions either
Literally who cares. People with wallets can save time farming. Blizz makes money. Larger quantity of goods reduces cost for real players. W.e..
This dudes’ stuttering holy 😭
So gold in wow, is like fentanyl in real life. Online cartels have formed to exploit the production and export of gold to online wow gaming addicts.
Notice the fairly popular mmo that's not on this list. Black desert online 😎 Also that's why a ban wave is dumb af in 2024. Of course people were going to eventually exploit the fact you only ban every few months. BDO doesn't do that. They add in game mechanics to stop it and also actively ban people every week and by actively i mean they have GM's and those Gm's care about the game and they actually do their jobs and play the game with the rest of us. They don't fire all the GMs and rely on some shitty software.
Some Blizzard games literally shut down (Heroes of the storm) because blizzard is bad at combatting bots even when they are directly told the reason by Blizzard dev's themselves in Alpha… This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. You should have Piratesoftware on your stream.
You get death threats every day? How about we have some of the opposite today. I hope you live a very long life. I appreciate you.
why they need to remove bots, they are making money from them
😱 omg not the taiwanese gangsters
It really doesnt mean blizzard catches only one version od botting software, it can catch multiply different, its just wild assumption that the would catch one.
180000 for those 12000 accounts. Nice chunk of don't ban me please money
MVP. That is everything im going to say. Blizzards goal is not making the best game possible, just money and having bots is not costing them money.
6 bots make 2k a month. 333 bucks per bot per month. 12k bots at 333 bucks a month is 3,996,000 bucks a month. Goddamn.
Work smart not hard ofc duh obviously rofl
The banwave tactic Blizzard uses is supposed to mitigate A/B testing. Running different botnet software both mitigates the risk of banwaves, while also allowing A/B testing. Hah. Wow.
People are forgetting about the buyers & consumers. They aren’t gonna be happy about this aka the streamers & YouTube content creators buying this stuff
Swedish guy deffo dose NOT make 2k a month .
And the boy farmers making 3Mill is dumb dumb talk
WOW is a shit game.. always has been only non-gamers that had zero skill in other PC games or played ps1 or ps2 final fantasy like it. at the start of 2000s people played wow cause it didnt need skill only time. I worked at a internet shop in 2000s and wow was only for losers that nobody were friends with that spent there time in there rooms. but to be honest Asmongold seams boring and not a person i would even hang with. Its just I see a video from him and play it while deving. Lol wow is and was shit.
Stop someone from making money, however they may do it, you have in effect taken away their ability to keep living. Without money you aren't paying rent or mortgage, paying your utility bills, or even buying food. So of course their pissed off about it.
Its why 'canceling' someone is a terrible thing to do.
No seriously how do i learn how to bot on wow or poe or whatever? Easy, steady income sounds pretty damn good.
