The WoW Devs just recently released a preview of the 9.1.5 PTR with some really exciting and long asked for changes.

I decided to try something new get a raw mostly unedited discussion about the changes with my thoughts and opinions here, similar to how we would do it live on stream! Usually we do a large scripted video but I decided to try and branch out a bit!

Hope you enjoy the ramble and definitely curious to hear everyone’s thoughts in the comments about the PTR and these changes that have been asked for, for a while now!

  1. What gets me about their "sorry, we'll do better" blue post is that they spend all that time going on about how they should've listened, but then put in a paragraph of how their failed design that they're changing is actually right and they're changing it now to be nice. Who are the idiots who approve these things? Why do they always shoot themselves in the foot? This is the easiest of easy wins, and they still fuck it up. I'm absolutely jaded, and they absolutely deserve my reticence.

  2. Hehe, most people react to your format and not the content.

    Format: Me likey
Content: I really don't care anymore. It's not the first time they lead us around with a noose around our necks. There was a time, where player feedback and wishes were listened to and worked out with blizzard, and blizzard was one of the "closer to the player companies" that suddenly changed with activition coming into play. I am saddened to say, but WoW as well as a lot of other content just feels like any other cell-phone game in monetization, it's a money dump. You literally get content for real life money. There is noch much achievement in the achievements you can collect and that doesn't sit right with me. I used to be one that tried and explored every corner of azeroth to get those darned achievement points with a hybrid class. And now I am stuck with a 6 month sub and I don't want to play this game. Of course, the recent lawsuit has its impact on my decision, not to play. It makes me really sad that even such positive news for the game, just make me feel like I don't care. I used to love the game, lived it, burned through girlfriends because of it. And now?

  3. Personally I think there's been a major shift internally on the WoW team with recent events, with an increase in internal conversation and more willingness from leadership to listen to both internal and external feedback. I suspect that's what's led to 9.1.5 being so stacked in terms of community feedback responses. It's hard to say from this one instance, and time will tell, but we'll see.

  4. Yo brother ,
For me it's not only the restrictions that bothers me , they just take alot of fun out of the game
My biggest problem is the gearing systems.. Compared to the gearing system in legion or BFA where it was super enjoyable to gear up at 8.3.5
Just keep it like that in my eyes.. give us vendors for gear , make valor worth something.. after 5 dungeons per week youre capped already and the only thing you can do is upgrade 1 piece for 1 level maybe 2 sometimes…
i do every week 15-20 mythic+ above 15 – 17 difficulty and i just get nothing from it back..
remove the vault vault cause after 7-8 weeks in now with the new system of domination sockets i didn't even have 2 pieces of 252 gear
just bring a vendor in the game with all the items you could get from mythic plus on the max ilvl there is , and let us grind our specific gear dont make it a gamble like FIFA or whatever lootbox game…
And yea you can say search for a Mythic raiding guild , so you can get the items on 252… Well thats even more than a joke
I've been playing since end of vanilla wow , ive allways been raiding heroic and mythic since it came out , And my logs are allways decent
Im not saying im a BDG guild worthy player but i know i could handle a top 250 guild in the world
But to join those guys you need a better CV then you would apply for a Job in real life..
So everything is kinda a shit show right now…

about the gearing , i'll give you an example
just think about playing greater rifts in diablo doesn't matter what difficulty
but atm you could get 5-6 legendary items from it maybe more but mostly thats the amount that you get from it
what would the game be if now they would change it every season to a few less legendary items per rift or maybe 1-2 pieces
the players would get mental.. that's the crap we need to live with in WOW
they give us gear that you need to level up with valor where there is a cap on per week
and still if you do 20M+ per week if you get 3 items thats already mind blown..
the loot in the raid, if you get 1 piece per week it's already insane , last weeks i didn't even get a piece
or if i got one i traded it away to someone who is raid logging…

maybe its just me and im super unlucky , its possible i dont know
but thats the reason why i get burned out , there's no other game like wow definitly not in the PVE way of the game
but please blizzard stop these restrictions , let us have fun , let us be overpowered , thats what makes the game fun
we even pay subscription for this game man..

and sorry for the rambling , and maybe it gets realy difficult to read some parts of my text
but my mind is going everywhere with how i need to think about the game atm

thanks for reading if you did sloot! youre amazing

  5. I agree the changes are a good ground work for 9.2, but since it's not a content patch it's not likely to bring back people immediately.

However, I will definitely be playing Legion m+ during the timewalking but due to having a subscription already for TBC raiding, it's not much of a return is it?

  6. i like the changes and i still play the game very actively

Conduit Energy was useless from Day 1

Swapping Covenants comes to the exact right Point, lorewise etc. U can still play all Aspects of a Game on a High level with only 1 Covenant. I guess PPl brag about it because they arent good enough and blame it on the System?

Recycling Leggos should have been introduced with 9.1

Too much freedom isnt good imo, i dont like the systems in FF14 where u create 1 character and it can play all classes, it doesnt fit in for me with the mindset of an rpg.

i Hope Blizzard listens AND react more to community ( not you Asmongold), but still keep their line in. wich is a complicated thing. i Like the Rpg part of cov Swaps in combination with storyline. But ppl who dont care about those aspects, scream the loudest. I dont like it and ihave the fear that blizzard will be going hardline on those ppl.

I rather would like to see those borrowed Power systems to be removed completely from the game

  7. What i think, in general content creators put a lot of cognitive investment into blizzards product, like preach a lot, or asom to a much lesser extent etc. I think as a result of that investment they feel a sense of power or importance and therefore when their advice is ignored they feel bitter. I think blizz should always ignore content creators and just interact or listen to players that have no conflict of interest.
I think the change now is good i think it happen for 2 reasons, bleeding players, and the removal of people that prevented a culture change. So for this i have hope that 10.0 maybe going in with a culture change.

  8. Changes might be good, but imho it will take at least 10.0 to get me back into WoW. Like You say theres still to little to do to me personally. There are so many other mmo's out there. Not even FF14. Lost Ark is coming to EU/NA this fall, which i'm hyped about and its on such a high surge of popularity.

Also I've never tried ESO, and I could just for lore/exploring. What I want to say, I no longer have Stockholm syndrome with WoW. They have to convince the game is fun and enjoyable before I get back, like any other new mmo that would come out nowadyas. There is no more credit of trust. The magic is poof atm.

quick edit: btw. more raw content like that pls, that looks like podcast, its very enjoyable, peace <3

  9. This patern repeats now for 3 expansions. Same in Legion, again in BFA and now in Shadowlands. As i am getting older i prefer to play games which respects my time and do not force me to endless grind.. so yea FF14 for me.

  10. i think you should do more unscripted videos you seem have a good mindset to talk to
for me this is step Zero from blizzard
-it is good thing what they did but after ruining the game to big portion of the player base
    1-pvp didn't get anything 00000000000000
2-the class balancing is joke (warlock have very core issues since they took his demon form and removed alot of his toolkit – the class became so boring and dull and all the class get flat % damage to specs ! so he can perform better on logs ! but it didn't solve anything ! i dont want to talk about the balancing in pvp and how trash is it )
3-the meta classes crap that prevent people from playing the specs and classes they love ! each class have 1 or 2 specs unplayable because the class design is lacking a lot of things i think these issues appeared with the modern talent system which made the talents soo dull and gives the illusion of choice not real choices ..
4-the fact guilds became almost useless on building communities ingame again
5- no more GM or answers on the tickets
6-the depth of the classes got removed with the modern talent system
i can write BIG list of things need to be changed or things got removed should be back again ingame – but the real question would it matter ..

  11. yesterday day one of blizzard devs (she is working on overwatch not wow ) attacking the players who doesn't braise the wow team for the changes and said (Some of y’all out here not even playing WoW anymore and still bitching about it like a bitter ex.) and i answered her (Because they didn't want to quit it in the 1st place .. but the ignorance for 4 years from the devs pushed them too .don't ignore the facts and you will understand ( the why) ! the conversation went to more shitty crap about the player base ! the fact this conversation happens from dev still working at blizzard gives me ZERO HOPE in the future ! because the amount of likes she had from work mates etc
there is still devs that is still disconnected from why the player base like this and why this is happening !
i dont think anyone should work on the entertainment industry ( comics – movies -tv – animation ) cannot handle and filter criticism

  12. I have no take on the subject, I'm very neutral and don't care enough to voice my opinion. Im commenting to boost the video! Great format, great video, good take on the situation! Keep up the good work

  13. It's like "breaking the glass" is part of Warcraft's development process now. It almost feels like they design systems with "breaking the glass" in mind later down the expansions content rollout. This has literally been happening since Legion and pretty much every time, players give feedback on Alpha/Beta about these exact issues.

  14. This is nothing new, nothing to be surprised. This is a pattern. Bad grindy pattern, fix as requested and meanwhile ignoring current systems problems.

Why not swappable covenant before? They could not release a system that forced you to grind 40 renown for each covenant on a single character.
