When Ansurek stabbed Neferess, i had instant flashbacks of Lords of War when Kilrogg stabbed his father, and it was for the same reason! They viewed their parent as allowing their people to wither away, so they betray them to usurp their position and lead the charge of conquest to make them powerful again!
