  1. If the argument is that world first raiders have to raid on holidays… tough shit. If the argument is Blizzard staff has to work on Holidays, then I can agree that sucks. I have mixed feeling about this as well.

  2. Release date and raid date doesn’t really matter, you can decide as a guild to just start the raid next year, not like the raid is going to be perfect upon release and will be changed quite a lot in the first 2 weeks after launch…

  3. the problem in Activision….sticking their greedy fingers in the Blizzard pie. forcing them to release b4 its ready….here comes a clusterfuck….again

  4. Scrap LFR, entry level to raiding normal. keep heroic and mythic and introduce a new godlike tier to raiding which is tuned harder than mythic. Give the raid tiers some longevity for the hard core raiders.

  5. I know this is a crazy idea, but hear me out.

    First a question:
What if Torghast and The Maw were connected as a piece of the expanding end game?

    The idea:
Visualize the tower of Torghast as an inverted funnel, both functionally and aesthetically.
At the lower levels you will have much more space to work with and less challenging opponents, so as you climb higher levels the space shrinks and the opponents become stronger.

Now visualize another un-inverted funnel below it and call it The Maw.
The player starts at the top of the funnel and makes their way down with opponents becoming stronger the further you delve.

At checkpoints in The Maw, players can find jailbreaks that provide access to higher floors of Torghast and a jump pad for the top floor of The Maw.

The Maw is an open world 'instance' and Torghast is a solo experience.
The powers found in Torghast are permanently learned as to be applicable in future revisits and also apply to The Maw.

After floor 100 the story elements have built up and the NPC's will no longer follow you down, making the 100th floor the last jump-pad. From floor 101 onward the opposition is now hunting the player as well as allowing PVP with the incentive of loot-able corpses and soul-locking (A ritual completable by one player on another, but goes faster with more than one player channeling the chant of the ritual.) which will lock a random Torghast acquired power from the cursed player for one day.

Now this may be imperfect, however the themes are connected, there is something to work towards, there is infinite progression and reward, with further dedication comes further challenge, casual can stop when desired and hardcore can push as hard as they like.

There is a break-point between PVE and PVP which incentivizes PVP as a form of progression.

An example of how this would be played is as follows:
I can get into the maw and start smashing mobs to make my way down, helping friendlies along the way all the way until either we hit floor one hundred or until the groups stop.

Once floor 100 is hit, if already in a group, that group can queue into floor 101 against another group as a race to clear mobs and get to the queue before the other team. As teams start on opposite ends, you could see a straight race or one team could split pressure between mobs and PVP to slow down the other team further.

This idea refined would have me jizzing my pants as a player and force me to consider upgrading from the legion expansion.

If this sounds good PIN me.
