These are the steps I take to raise my chances of success in Torghast: The Twisting Corridors. Given the random nature and variety of Torghast this isn’t a step by step guide but what you’ll expect to deal with as you climb higher and higher.

  1. The twisting corridors has so many aspects of RNG involved. As a tank (I was runnning as guardian druid), the damage really picks up around floor 13. I knew this and had chosen anima powers to increase my health to over 200k hp. The problem is that debuffs from the different "wings" stack, and if you have bad RNG, they go a long way. My last failed run had me taking an extra 51% physical damage because I only had the upper reaches all the way through. I also had a leftover 3000 phantasma. More phantasma isn't always a good thing if your RNG is bad. This was very different from the run prior, where my anima powers were better and I didn't have that hugely punishing debuff.

It's an RNG fest. But it's still fun!

  2. Lol, I really suck then. I"m ilv lik 185sh and having trouble soloing a layer 4 of the reg wings. Then again I am rather lazy with these games so I'm sure I'm missing something in my rotation and not doing the dmg on my Sin Rogue I should be 😀

  3. it's easy if you just pick decent powers. did it on windwalker, was a breeze. currently gearing up a rogue and it doesn't seem to be any different. it's like 60 minutes per layer, so it's not even a full day to finish it. y'all may just not be great at picking your powers.

  4. Here's the secret I've found for completely Twisting Corridors. Health, Health, and more Health. I play fury warrior and after completing two difficult levels (i.e. 18 floors each) with no problem I hit a wall with difficulty level 3. After many failed attempts I decided to prioritize increasing my health every chance I could get. When I did this, I increased my normally 32K health to 380K health and was able to complete level 3 with no problem. I then tried the same strategy with level 4 and got my health up to 480K health and was able to complete it with zero deaths.

I'm sure squishier classes will not have as much luck but thought I would share for the fellow plate wearers.

  5. Took me ~3 Hours for Level 1 as resto (I take it slow and methodically), only to not be able to clear the final boss. I had no trouble at all until the 16-17th floors. Heartbreaking.

  6. My main is a Prot Pally and when I went through the twisting corridors, I barely made it by floor 12. The next time I went in I got so lucky with my anima build that I got the 100% armor increase twice and the extra uses of hammer of wrath which helps alot when you need to take down that last little bit of hp a boss has left as you are running around avoiding whatever they put on the ground. Made it past floor 13 but unfortunately I ran outta time, but was smoking everything on the that floor. That build was fun as hell no pun intended, lol

  7. The only thing that decide wether you be able to do this or not is the endboss. Recommend at EVERY anima choice -> Does this make the boss easier? Yes -> take, no -> take other choice. You need every possible upgrade for the bosses. You will get through the floors somehow. U want boss builds as good as possible at 18. Thats the only thing I focus on with Demo Warlock and Blood Dk.

  8. Soloed layers 1-7, grouped for layer 8. Elemental shaman. Something I'll add to this since you didn't mention it but demonstrated nicely how necessary it is: pick packs apart. Most of the time when you encounter a pack with two elites and a bunch of non-elites, you can pick the non-elites off with ranged attacks and deal with them first. THEN deal with the elites. The incoming damage is way less scary when you don't have 7 things beating on you at the same time.

  9. All of Torghast comes down to what anima powers are available to your spec, and then how lucky you get. On my resto shammy, I went to 8'th level on both entrances the second week, and finished TC the day after it came out at ilvl 187. On my 198 marks hunter, I still haven't finished the 8'th level, and can't finish the 4'th level in TC (worthless traits every run). My resto shammy does on average 600% of the damage my hunter does on final bosses, and my 1 minute CD earth ele holds up for almost the full minute, while my hunter pet gets one-shot. My son mains an ilvl 217 disc/shadow priest, and finally decided to level up his UH DK to finish TC…the first try…at ilvl 160. Great idea, but horrible balance.
