The problem is that any point Sylvanas makes is soooort of overshadowed by that whole genocide of night elves thing and the fact that the Jailer is A) not going to make things better for people and B) is big on domination magic, which is what stripped her of free will before when she was first made undead by Arthas.

Then proceed to frozen throne cinematics terror of the tides, arthas fuse with ner'zhul the helm of domination, and don't forget to react the ingame cinematics of the wrath of the lich and the rest of the ingame cinematics through out the expansion you guys miss out including shadowlands.
I'd side with Anduin. While Sylvanas acts all philosophical here, it all boils down to the 2 main things, that drive her : fear of eternal death and revenge for what she lost. It is this whole 'criminal with a bad youth' dynamic to a certain extent. Does her tragic backstory make her actions more relatable and understandable? Yes. Does it excuse her actions? No.
You'll definitely have to react to the cinematic following this one from twisting corridors and then the new Kingsmourne one now! 🙂 It's interesting seeing how these stories appear to people that aren't 100% caught up on all the lore
