  1. Really reeks of the Esports guy doing all final decisions on the game. He wants everyone to interact with the Esports part of the game, despite forcing Esports has ruined every single Blizzard game in the past decade.

  2. It's not about elitism. The devs who make these decisions probably don't PvP. This is about preventing PvE players from getting gear through PvP. Almost every PvP decision in this game is designed to eliminate the PvP influence on PvE. Sadly, they could have accomplished that with a PvP stat or WoD style PvP scaling system. Absent that, they have to make the PvP experience less desirable for their focus players.

I agree with everything else in your video. I think they're going to gate gear on rating too – for the exact same reason. BGs are going to be a mess.

  3. I think this is a good change. Why would you want to torture yourself with randoms in regular BGs and have a high probability of dealing with their stupidity, lack of proper gear, etc. instead of joining a group or guild that runs rated battlegrounds?

  4. I don't know what their intention for doing this is. However, assuming goodwill, I would argue, that they are making arena/ranked PvP mandatory to make it less elite. If everyone is doing it, it can't be elite. Furthermore, it fills up rated activities and lessens queue timers. In the end, it could make rated PvP more accessible by casuals because they meet other casuals there. But don't get me wrong, I personally dislike this strategy. I don't like to be forced to do specific things to be rewarded correctly if there are other means I might like more. I did grew up with BGs and don't want them to lose all value in this game. In this era of hyper optimisation, there is no room for this reward structure.

  5. Blizzard despises casual pvp and refuses to keep decent rewards to an activity a huge part of the playerbase takes part in, hell some people just play bgs all the time yet blizzard has the outdated mentality of "do mythic/high elite content or no reward"

  6. Elitists sadly never understand how they are not that great because blizzard panders to elitism by telling them "if you do this content you must be good" so they cant handle the fact that they are terrible when it comes to situations where there's no healers saving your ass from your mistakes or a hyper coordinated teammate helping you out when you get destroyed
That is why bgs are far more fun, none of this arena degeneracy

  7. I don't PVP, but in BFA and Legion you were able to get something from the cache only doing random bg or it was only through rated bg/arena? I understand this change, but the removal of conquest from random bg will be terrible for those who only pvp.

  8. Glad I didn't get Shadowlands yet. I was hyped that they were adding pvp vendors back into the game lol.. The MoP/WoD pvp gearing system was awesome and I don't fucking know why these idiots at blizzard changed it

  9. By doing this they are pushing non rather players to start focusing on rathed activities like RBGs. Forcing you to do other activities will never be great. BUT RBG's are NOT exactly "other activities" is literally a BG but rathed THAT is all. I KNOW BOTH ARE DIFFERENT! i know where you are comming from. But they are not focing you to ONLY run the rathed version all week. Just start a group or join one and get your conquest cap for the week and go back to Random BG's. After this change we are going to have enough people to start running RBG's like we did in the past. This could bring RBG's back wich is a good thing. If you are as good in pvp as you say, you wont mind this AT ALL.
