  1. There is a big difference between capitalizing on and manipulating a free willed individual finding himself in a position to be easily manipulated (especially where dreadlords are involved), and mind control! I'm totally with you on the Arthas front, Krimson!

  2. Arthas's soul literally faded from existence like a wet fart just so it doesn't have to be subject to Blizzard's writting

The fact that Sylvannas had the last word is just salt on the wound. Both Jaina and Uther literally spent their entire character arcs dealing with Arthas's downfall and how they could have maybe prevented it

But instead they just stand there like statues.

Not saying Sylvannas didn't deserve to get a word in, but after everything she's done of HER OWN VOLITION, she's the last person to be lecturing Arthas's remnants about their "legacy"

  3. Jaina made her peace with Arthas being lost a long time ago and A LOT of shit has happened to her since Wrath, so I'm not heatbroken over her not being heartbroken.
The selfish dead Ex isn't exactly a priority.

  4. blizzard I did not expect such a thing at all, I did not fuckiing expect ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTT WTF Why should it end like this? blizzard did not even show Arthas' face You are the worst blizzard company in the world. WE have been waiting for 15 years to see something from Artas, but now we have not seen ANYTHING What did you think of yourself blizzard? Artas ended in a very miserable way This was not the end of this very popular character. You know how long I waited to see a great scene in this cinematic, but you ruined everything. (BLIZZARD FUCK YOU)

  5. What rubbs me the wrong way with Sylvanas is… this scene would've been so, soooooo much stronger, if the whole soul splitt thing didnt exist. If she, after finally getting go of her rage, was able to see clearly, that she had been turning into Arthas over the years, and after she has done, she came to terms with it and is able to forgive her old nemesis. But since her soul is now complete again, since it was fractured the whole time we've known her… her speech loses all impact – at least for me.
No, this cinematic gets no points from me. Its loud and over the top… Uther was done well, but that was it.

Also, "books and other lore", I know those books, I've read them – and we all know how much Blizz respects their lore. At this point, the old lore doesnt count anymore since Blizz themselves said, that all is written "in perspective": switch the perspective and everything changes. In the book it said, Arthas was acting out of his own free will because he thought it was the right thing. Now, switch the perspective and his free will turns into "he thought he was free". This one expansion turned every lore speculation of the last ten years on its head and ripped it to shreds.

  6. Varian and Surfang appeared gave me goosebumps, love to see them again, but one thing that I hate in this cinematic is that they made Arthas dirty, I was hoping for arthas to say something to Jaina and Uther one more time.

  7. "Arthas did it of his own free will" Yes, he did. And we are human, we fuck up. He always thought he did it for the best of all. He was not mind-controlled, because he didn't need to be, the seed of doubt and darkness had already grown inside him.

He vanishes a MARTYR, not a villain. Which is controversial in it's own right, because he dies a victim of Uther and Zovaal's anger and schemes, his last flicker of life tossed into the maw and put to use to control Anduin when he had already been set up to become the Lich King (and lived up to it on his own terms). Zovaal got the last laugh with him. He used everything Arthas had to give, and he let him fade from existence, getting rid of a failed puppet that never did his bidding quite as he should have.

What really leaves a bitter taste is that somehow in this configuration it really makes it feel like SYLVANAS, is worth more than he ever was, despite his life being a downwards spiral into misery. She is somehow worth "more", because she, gets a chance she should have never been given, and he….Ceases to even BE. No last words, nothing, just *poof*.

That's, what pisses me off at present.

  8. Arthas is one heck of a Charakter – Moral, strong Will – he sacrifed his own people, who he knew he couldn' t safe them, but for the greater goods and the other lives in his Kingdom… that makes a Leader – take a Shot on a hard decision and don't look back in doubts! a great flashback from sylvanas to end this circle of legacy with arthas

  10. Arthas did everything of his own free will that is 100% true.

He did however have the half of his soul that had his morality and kind heart ripped from the rest of his soul

Leaving only the corrupting influence of Frostmourne and the Crown and his own lack of morality after he lost part of his soul

  11. Let's not defend the fact that this was a 6/10 cinematic with a 4/10 story. At best. Sylvannas being a forced villan for the last two expansions with a white-bread edgy teen girl attitude was getting old. Arthas not getting a single last word in or appearance while Uther and Sylvannas get to jerk each other off over how much they "suffered" is beyond my comprehension.
