The funny thing about Steve Danuser gushing at how 'brilliant' the Star Wars sequel trilogy and the last season of Game of Thrones were is that they actually are compared to his own work… never could I have imagined a writer fucking up a franchise so bad…. I mean he Rian Johnson'd WoW even more than Rian Johnson Rian Johnson'd Star Wars.

I guess the expansion up to legion is canon. BFA and Shadowlands are just some fanfic story.
I feel so bad for every team at blizzard except the game devs lead and the writing team. The game devs does an amazing job, the game feels good to play but the direction is ion calling the shots and he fucking sucks at it. And the writing team.. It all sucks, dialogue writing makes every cinematic cheesy with their dialogue. Varian and saurfang saying shalamayne was forged by Valor and honor like lmao no, it's literally just an ancient draconic sword. It isn't like Ashbringer.

Taliesin put it best. You can't pretend to give the Jailer a conclusion before ever giving him a beginning or middle. We don't understand him, we don't care about him, and as a result, everything in this cinematic falls flat. The story would have been better if the Jailer was left as a complete one-dimensional character, rather than trying to pretend he has an actual story at the very end.

I refuse to buy all these novels to understand the game I am playing.
Flip to FFXIV. I don’t need to read anything to fully understand and enjoy the MSQ. This is a game I WISH they would write companion novels so we can get more! I would LOVE a whole novel about how (spoiler name) made their trip to the First and everything leading up to it. That would be a book I would buy! I don’t need it to understand and love the MSQ, but I want it lol! That is the difference.
The sylvannas thing I don't agree with. Arthas chose to hand his soul over to frost mourne kill malganis but if we use shadowlands as cannon, sylvannas had no choice as arthas splintered her soul against her choice. Muridan warned him that the sword was cursed but he didn't care.
Danuser needs to be fired. Immediately. The likes are probably Blizzard employees that were forced to like the video or be fired.
