Since this dude fails at explaining.. Some bosses are vehicles. That means they work the same way as vehicles do when you get into a "vehicle" in game(not mounts). Think you, riding a tank for a quest or something. Since its a vehicle, the model is able to be exaggerated, which means bigger size, more mechanics, etc. This isnt limited to bosses. Some NPCs out there are also "vehicle" models.

This is a basic thing of object oriented programming. Since vehicles have way more liberty of being alterted, changed, reshaped, resized, it is easier to create bosses that inherit the vehicle class rather than bosses that inherit the player class
