  1. Sounds like you did not push Mythic+ keys to current relevant gear score/high enough. Sure its fine on low levels, until you actually need to do an appropriately high level key to have a chance to get an upgrade. Then welcome 1 hour waits to get groups together and people ragequitting before the first boss and depleting keys. Made me quit the game in battle for azeroth and only came back to play the first raid tier of shadowlands before quitting again. Awful system that killed the game for me.

  2. Must say, you do a good job with a propaganda video like that, trying to make yourself sound genuine, while you clearly lie out of your teeth the whole time, comparing things which are not compareable at all, like "in FF14 your characte can be everything" – whas it true, you are pretty much forced to that, but of course this takes a hell lot of time, and guess what: you got ONE lock out for this character, so actually gearing this character up is an even bigger mess than it would be in WoW.

Leveling a character to max in WoW is also quick and easy and bringing a profession to max also, so it's no problem at all to just have different characters doing the different things.

Also absurd to even compare the classes, since FF14 gives you ZERO freedom. You switch to Paladin? You are forced to be a tank and you exactly like all other Paladins, there is ZERO difference. Meanwhile in WoW you got talent trees and you can switch inside your class between role. You play Paladin? Well, you can play it as healer as tank or as DD. So leveling that one class gives you all three roles at once. While not all classes are like that, it's clearly a massive difference and the biggest prob with FF14 is, that even when you level up your class, you still need to equip it and guess what: they got their own weapons, they got their own armor – same for professions, so the real issue is to get the gear which is.. .boring. It's mainly just equipment level, nothing special like trinkets, sets or anything else.

Leveling professions in FF14 is ultra annoying, especially at start and you simply tell that story from the PoV where you put a hell lot of time into that over the years and had little do to do to max them out and of course FF14 cutting down the meaning of professions brutally that it's not really worth it anymore in the first place beside repairing your own stuff and they implented lazy grind stuff like the awful changes they made to Diadem instead of fixing it, so you could level just there. That's not good at all.

The story is not hidden at all. FF14 forces you through a hell lot of awful crap that becomes worse after the first time, because then you realise even more how shit the story was from the start. If you played it 2013 you got that hope in your head and the idea, how good it could become and by that overlooked all the bullshit like how retarded all Ascians are or how stupid Garlemald acts without ever doing anything actually – and of course it wasn't obvious then, that you are actually the bad guy who blindly follows the orders of mass murderous psychopaths (Scions) and an genocidal ultra fascist (Venat) who slaughered a whole planet over nothing then distorted everyone on it and tortured the ripped apart fragments with the idea in head that this magically would created a new super(distorted) human, who would be able to beat something the real people could easily have found a solution for – starting with the fact, that one of them created that thing in the first place, so to create something against it shouldn't be hard at all. And while this even sounds like it could make a disgusting but maybe interesting story, that you find out about and go against it – you never do. It's simply whitewashed like in a fascist propaganda movie.

Garlemald (they stole from FF12) just falls apart offscreen, a continent sized nation just ceasing to exist, because theys are so ultra lazy and greedy that they only milk the game and never cared to actually make something out of it.

And in general: What's the story telling? Every single time the antagonists is just dumb and does nothing since SB and the protagonists simply know that they got plot armor so they don't even try to, they just rush in and win by that plot armor = horrible bad writing.

In SB you at least got absurd bullshit like that flag thing (no one would fall for – and again Garlemald just did mostly nothing the whole time, while they could easily obliterate all Eorzan cities in a single day with the high tech and magical power they got on their side – yes, Garlemald also got way more magical power on their side, majority of Garlemald aren't Garleans) or mass murdering civilians in Doma by flooding the town part of the castle (interesting method, fittin to the psychopaths the Scions are and the psychopaths we follow for no reason, like a monarch who fled his country and let the people suffer for that, then just wants his throne back he doesn't deserve at all, just to send them right back into a war they would never be able to win, but who cares when it's all fiction and you got plot armor, right?).

ShB doesn't even care for that anymore. Giant golems pulled out of your ass is probably the closest you get to a reason (what is ridiculous, because this had ZERO build up and after wasting pretty much a whole map to make a single small golem open a freaking door, the idea that you could create a mountain sized one out of nowhere, even more when the whole story to that point NEVER showed ANYTHING like that at all, is absurd). How you beat the first Ascian guy? Because he's suddenly absolut stupid, fights you for zero reason and loses against you for zero reason. Did you have any plan at all? Nope. You just knew that you got plot armor, so you just have to move there and then win by that. There was never a reason for you to win, not even for the fight and for sure not for the Scions to survive again. Second one? Hell, he even talks about how stupid the first one was to act like that – then does EXACT the same shit.

Theses guys can stab you and you psychofriends whenever they want. They could use anything on the world to crush you, they could even just summon things and drop them on you or nuke your whole town. They not only can teleport in an instant, quicker than a flying arrow, they can also teleport YOU against YOUR will anytime they want and that many kilometer wide.

But thankfully your plotarmor always make them braindead, so they just stand there until you poke them to death for no reason.

And EW…. yeah, better not even waste time on that disgusting and absurd shitshow, where they completely whitewashed Superfascist Venat, just got rid of Garlemald and Ascians all together and replaced them with a stupid clown and Zenos, who simply makes no sense. If he wants to fight you and is evil, he would just slaughter the Scions and if that's not enough than the Eorzan towns, the WoL for whatever reason cares about. Why should he slaughter Garlemald? Ah, right, because Square is ultra lazy and does neither want to change Eorza nor build Garlemald, so its better to sell shit to the players who hopefully will eat it anyway, so you don't have to do any of that.

Final solution? Yeah, an ultra spaceship is pulled out of your ass again and who needs a plan, right? You just fly there and of course will easily beat it and everyone will survive, because you are a Mary Sue, your whole group is. And makes zero sense that you win, but it's fiction and the lazy writers will just let you win, while whitewashing fascism and genocide. Great.

WoW? WoW constantly puts work into its world to change whole regions. The story and lore is so massive, that forcing player through it wouldn't work, so yeah, since it tells much more and got so much moer lore, you can't come 20 years late and just play through it the same way as those who played it since start. Obviously. That would be a nightmare.

Same for systems. While it is a lot of extra work, they constantly put work into it to make new players be able to enjoy the current game as easily as all others. When you get into FF14 – yeah, better throw even more money at that greedy company to get a boost. There isn't really much you lose anyway when you ignore the absolute awful story and it's easy to summarize via making clear, that you and the Scions are invincible murder hobos who served super fascist, while all your enemies are retarded and die from that. That's pretty much the story of FF14 from start to end and there isn't much to learn about Ascians or Garleans to begin with, nor do you need to, sine they just die anyway, easily crushed by your plot armor. And the less you know about Venat, the better, because everything you can learn about that disgusting piece of shit is absolutely awful and horrible.

When I was forced to leave FF14 thanks to Square being the greedy ****** they are, I looked at the state of WoW and the only thought I had was, how things could be different if Square would just show at least half the effort for their game as Blizzard does for WoW – since I could go one and on and on with all the problems of FF14, that's just a fraction. The way the dungeons are build, the way the raids are build, the way they abuse old stuff endlessly to create fake content, just forcing you into x years old stuff for drops, how shit fates still are, never improved, how shit most other systems are, the fact that they are so shit that they don't even buy enough servers, having only around 10% of the server WoW got, while they at LEAST would need double as many – and hell it took them TWO YEARS to give Europe any servers at all!

And so on and so on and so on.

Again: good job, you make yourself sound genuine, but hell, in the end you lie as much as the other FF14 fanatics who lie about the game and spit on the others to lure in replacement for all those who left the shitshow for good reasons.

  3. I completely agree with this video. I left endwalker after savage raiding on my black mage since covid began. I love ff14's story and its strategic dance fights (especially as a BLM), but outside of raiding there is nothing to do if you dont RP, and i don't. I started WoW hesitantly and leveled up a Balance Druid and im having a blast. Im running +17's in M+ and am 3/9 H on the new raid. I love ff14 but WoW was my first love and I really hope I stick around this time.

  4. Not mentioned in the video in a straight to the point way: after the massive exodus those who remained on the PvE content are meta players and sheeps who worship damage regardless of what roll you play, you are expected to do dmg and be good so any sense of being a tank or healer is mostly gone. Changes being done on the PvE progress and gameplay have been overall bad and more boring than before due to erasing even further the identity of each roll in the party.

As a main healer of a class that doesn't need to deal dmg in order to heal, the effort required to progress vs the rewards for it is not worth it, if I wanted to do dmg I would have used my dps spec. The only thing keeping me from leaving is that I found a guild with people who don't know anything beyond WoW so the only way to hang out with them is to play the game.

  5. FFXIV is the better story, the better graphics, better player integration, better social, better community, better integration of their systems.

But WoW is the better VIDEO GAME. Ultimately we are here to play a VIDEO GAME not a digital FACEBOOK.

    Suck it 14 players :]

  6. you mentioned at 10:45 about how you can do everything on one character in FFXIV, which is true! but the implication is that wow does account wide progression worse because of that? which doesnt make sense to me because FFXIV does NOT do account wide anything. i think its a confusion of jobs in FFXIV being the same as seperate characters in wow and "it's easier and more smooth to play a single character" rather than anything with account wide unlocks or completion. nearly anything from FFXIV does not transfer to different characters, because you are not meant to play more than one character. comparing it to wow and saying it does account wide progression better just isn't really true, because FFXIV doesn't have these account wide unlocks at all. 1 to 1'ing every job in FFXIV with every character+class in wow isn't really a fair comparison in either direction

  7. Just a reminder that wow is “changing” not because it’s improving upon greatness but rather due to failure. I can see how you find thing enjoyable about wow but I also see u have to rely on addons to play which is the game’s fault for not being optimized correctly. As well the return of green Jesus doesn’t mean anything, wow has a lot of hype going on for it right now and that’s that, while ff is the opposite has no hype but is building a lot of content.

Remember. Show, don’t tell. Wow is just telling and telling and showing nothing.

  8. The biggest difference for me between the games is the responsiveness. WoW just plays so smoothly, while 14 feels like there's a constant lag of about 200ms. I just can't get past that, it's a deal breaker.

  9. "Final Fantasy 14 commits completely to it's narrative, and it does not apologize for that choice."

As someone currently playing through the post-ARR pre-Heavensward quests, I'd really like an apology, actually. They are certainly very committed. It's just not any good.

  10. Liked many of your takes, but you started with some bias imho. The "core public" doesn't think FFXIV is better than WoW, mainly because the "core public" still plays WoW in a big %. And because that FFXIV surge was mostly a trendy thing that occured based on Shadowlands content drought between 9.0 and 9.1 (and then the boring Korthia, as you said) and several streamers looking for new hyped stuff to increase views. Not saying FFXIV isn't good (I was one of those that went from WoW to FFXIV during 9.0-9.1, but just didn't enjoy FFXIV after some time, not for me I guess), but I see a lot of FFXIV saying it's just a better game out of pure bias. It isn't, it's just different, otherwise people coming from other MMOs would have stayed. And they didn't. oh, and in my short time in FFXIV (around 3 months) I saw a LOT of toxicity too. Mainly gatekeepers or people hating on new players. There's nothing that inherently makes wow mroe toxic. Other MMOs have competition too, and you can find as much toxic players. The thing is, WoW is the big brand of MMOs, and you know how people react to big brands: they are much less lenient towards those. And the bigger, the easier it is to find people criticizing it.

But yea, WoW has now a problem on how they deliver stories (and the story itself, becoming less dark and warlike, to more happy and colorfoul). Dragonflight is a great expansion in terms of mechanics, dungeons and Raids, but boy the story is bad. Let's hope that now that Chris Metzen returned the new stories deliver back the dread WoW used to have. Heck, even when BFA was hated (mainly due to mechanics and systems), it had some pretty decent storytelling or settings. Drustvar is one of the creepiest zones in all of warcraft and it delivers.

And for those willing to try WoW, get into a guild, as he said. It makes the game 1000 times better. Once you find a guild were you are filling comfy, you'll enjoy everything a lot more, mainly because the content was designed to be a in a team. You can play the campaign and those things solo, which makes sense, but dungeons, raids and mythic+ are awesome when played with people you know. I've been playing with the same guild since Legion and even when the expansion ain't good, like SL, we come back because we have fun together. And if the new expansions are anything like Legion, the game will be right back at it's feet.

  11. started so long ago.. EQ1 2000. played every larger MMO since, currently in FF14 as well, but ya, a bit bored. forcing myself to grind old long grinds to keep in it… have gone back and forth with wow, plenty over the years, but kind of said meh. but you had me reconsider.. truthfully, I didn't make much effort to engage with a guild. sue I would join, but not engage. railed about M+, but, without guild support to ease into it and get better, it remained hard, andand I was lame, so ya, it was toxic as well. May have to reinstall and give it a more fair shake, especially since, DawnTrail is fairly long way off.

  12. Competitive and collab part is just plain awful, if you're doing content as a team in PvE it should ALWAYS be collab. Why would you make the encounter about outperforming your teammates? you added a variable to your gameplay so unnecessary that its actually detrimental. If you instill this to others it plagues the game scene. Solo or Team PvP stuff competitive is 100% fine. I can imagine YOU'RE the clown that does UPTIME just to get hit by mech and wipe us cause 'competitive cooperation' was your focus. bleh, shit makes me sick. Other than that, wonderful vid! Everything else is well spoken of.

  13. Played and loved both of the games. So, in order to enjoy wow i need to read guides and watch videos and above all join a guild in order to avoid the unbelievably toxic community. Im 15 years older than you ans was there when the beta was running and never left until mop, I truly LOVED wow. I came back for every expansion ever after but there is one constant, wow is not what it used to be, maybe with the exception of legion. Im playing dragon atm, just came back a couple of days ago, just for the story and now you are saying that story parts are locked behind rep grinds, I had no idea. Thanks bliz, thats the last time im spending money on wow. Back to FF14 then.

  14. As a former raidleader on and off sine 2005 YouTube said and praised what i most hate in Any mmo but it is a very big part of WoW reading guides to do raids i truely hate it i dont wanna have to read guides watch videos to do raids
I wanna learn the boss i wanna live the raids not just do it thru a guide
And i know ppl say well then dont read and watch guides but problem is the community as a whole where its not only expected but more or less demanded
And well blizzards ugly money grabbing scheme has also truely put me of ever returning to wow or Any other activision blizzard game

  15. One of the greatest things I like about FFIXV that I would bring to WoW is having a character able to play multiple classes. That would fix the story and rep grind since it’s all on the same character.

  17. Ever since I started playing WoW I mostly played alone, same with every single MMO I played and will be playing. One single exception to this is Black Desert Online since the guild I was randomly invited to was a community that shared a single dead braincell, it was fun while it lasted. I prefer playing mmo-s alone for the simple reason of that I can progress at my own pace in a chill not overly dedicated manner. If I get into a guild I look for the one that has many members where I can blend in and be invisible.

  18. The combat was one thing that turned me off of FF14. That and the story, I'm not a story gamer with MMOs, I like to push myself to beat the hardest content in the game, and if I have to sit through hundreds of hours of story, I can't be asked. But I'm also not boosting in a new mmo and being bad, and not knowing what's going on. But man the combat, kinetic is the best way to describe wow, every ability feels like it's actually doing something, rather than looking amazing, but then there's just no punch at the end of it for me.

  19. My play group refuses to give FFXIV enough time to get to "end game" content and so we just keep playing WoW. I love FFXIV SO MUCH MORE than WoW but at the end of the day playing with friends is more fun than playing alone. I still go and play through each FFXIV expac for the story, and holy bajesus shit is it better than WoW.

  20. I've jumped around a lot of MMOs but I mostly switch between ff14, gw2, and WoW, I've been playing a lot more WoW though because I feel like DF hit it out of the park pretty well, and I gotta say one thing WoW has above ff14 is class fantasy, I feel more unique in WoW over ff14, specially as a mage player, I can teleport around, make portals for players, do mass invisibility to shroud my party, or mass barrier to protect them, make food for my party, all while casting spells with one of the three specs it offers, I can use my alchemy profession to make potions that buff my party, sure you can do that in ff14 but in WoW some potions have secondary effects that can be pretty fun, I can also make potions that turn people invisible, or walk on water etc idk it feels more unique, and when I see another mage they're normally different from me, where as in ff14 that's simply not the case, every single class/profession plays the same with zero customization, imo ff14 sacrificed a measure of individuality for balance, and to me that stings a bit. I've also tried to get friends into ff14 and they have all failed because they don't want to slog through hours of story just to play with me on endgame stuff, and I feel like this will only get worse as expansions keep getting added, imagine trying to get a friend into a game and telling them, oh btw you gotta get through 300 hours story, like bruh, even if they like the story that's a daunting task.

Don't get me wrong I still love all these games, and ff14 knocks it out of the park 100% over WoW and Gw2 imo when it comes to the story. But I feel like with how ff14 plays things so safe, it'll bite it in the but eventually. Blizzards past has been rocky (Screams at WoD and shadowlands and all the other crap) But they take risks and they look to be heading in the right direction (hopefully), also Bobby Kotick is leaving the company on the 29th so that's a big plus.
