  1. People like 'Heavycarrier' come across as entitled a*holes – they are the type that races through all the content and then quit when they 'have done everything' – they are no loss to the community, because they dont want to be part of the community.

I also 100% disagree with their comments about new players, 'games like classic wow arent fun with new players..' – they moan about not wanting to play with "dads and people that cant find time to play" but then also wants to gatekeep new players from learning how to play classic… facepalm

I have faith in the SoD dev team that they wont pander to comments like this – they seem to have a clear vision of what they want to achieve with SoD and I'm hyped to follow them on this journey 😀

  2. I wholeheartedly disagree with your gdkp take. There are plenty of people who farm their own gold that partake in gdkps. From classic vanilla to wotlk I’ve been a regular member of gdkps and I’ve never bought gold once. Yes there are whales who do buy gold but it’s really a small minority of players.

  3. People really need to stop b*tching to wrap it up early. Just let people enjoy themselves for once.
This first phase is to give everyone time to come back from holidays and enjoy it at their own pace, not just for the min-maxers who have absolutely no social life or a job or girlfriend or a dog or anything else but the game. Just log off and play something else for a bit and stop b*tching. It's only been like a month or how much. Chill out! Try and enjoy yourself for once!

  4. Im not even a dad and i am loving the pace. But to really be controversial, keep the 40 mans til MC. Organizing that many people together unless you have 50 people not working fulltime, is insane and even then. Besides, if you want the true vanilla experience and value that 40man "quality" keep it true to molten core. Having gnomer be 40 would not make the game more vanilla. And if you think it interacts with the community more, realize that you have the 40 people playing, you are still playing and interacting with those people with 2 different 20 mans. Math be kinda crazy like that. Having 40 mans can be fun, not saying its impossible, but if 40man is what has me interacting with my guild. That says something about my guild, or even myself.
You're more likely to get benched on a 40, a raid is more likely to get pushed or cancelled the bigger it is, etc etc
But seeing that big oonga boonga wave is fun.

  5. I think in my opinion is lots of the people complaining played when classic came out and played heaps. Did all the rep farming and everything else and they are playing sod for the differences that came with it. They want to play the new stuff cause they already did all the crazy farming and other stuff in classic. Like if 100000(random number) people did the winterspring frostsaber in classic i bet a fraction of that will do it in sod. Its the same even at low levels. Grinding for days to get an assasinsblade for your 19twink rogue people already got the feel for that in regular classic. I just think many people want new stuff and though many classes and things have changed its not like a completely new experience for many you just have 1 or 2 more buttons that do extra damage it doesnt make any of the grinds particularly special or different.
To say there is still heaps to do isnt wrong but you might aswell just say go to regular classic if sod phases are too slow which just misses the mark imo

  6. Season of discovery makes all the players play wow like i’ve played for years and forces them to enjoy all the content not just the endgame maxing. I mean, it’s like nirvana for me. Finally I enjoy wow again.

  7. Im a casual gamer with a fiance and no kids.. got a warrior level 25 and I just now leveled a druid to level 25.. trust me i am not done with both characters.. for me phase 1 is the perfect amount of time for people like me.

  8. People can quit and play other games, lich king, or retail too, and jump back in later, no need to do tasks, you can do dungeons few times, maybe a challenge mode, only clear all raids once or 3 times, with minium gear?

  9. With my schedule I was able to live my life, hit the gym, work full time, and get two characters to lvl 25, get pre-raid BiS, do their first raid, get honored with warsong, and max professions by the end of the 4th week. I like that there are still 3-4 week left for me to get two other characters there while enjoying the ones I have already.

I think the 8 week is perfect.

It even leaves room to spend 1 week per alt on 8 alts(a 9th for all classes if they are that desperate for content)to hit 25. Get gear, pvp and raid 2-3 times for all the gamers who just game 24-7.

If that’s still not enough content for them I don’t think anything will satisfy them.

  10. lol i wished the lvl 25 lasted for half a year i have only 2/8 chars at lvl 25 and with only main only thing left to do is grind wsg to exalted ot go bfd for few drops im missing and thats ok

  11. The only people complaining are those that speed through or no life it. The truth is tons of us have a real life and do other things as required by working adults. We still have a lot to do and would not want anything changed. I am so happy it has this extra time for me to catch up to the sweaty ppl

  12. Nailed it. GDKP has ruined retail along with boosting and now it is a huge problem in SoD. Although I do love watching general or trade chat rip into those people posting GDKP BFD runs. Trading gold in game is one thing, but it has 100% incentivized RMT.

  13. As a dad player I love 10 man's. I'm in a smal guild and wrangling 25 or 40 people together to do bigger raids is untenable. The 10 man's are great for this season and a lot of fun. I would be completely fine if there was an option to increase the raid count but honestly, if you want the big raids why not go back to the other versions of wow classic and play it there? why drag the experience for people that love this game but have more going on in their lives that keep them from being able to play?

  14. Well this dad of 4 have been playing since Vanilla. If this youngster with nothing better to do cause he is out of school for winter break cant wait for phase 1 to be over, maybe level another toon or go back to retail till it drops. The best thing about WoW and SoD is this is a game based for 100's of different types of players. Im a end game content player myself and a hardcore PvPer, but we have to stop min maxing everything and rushing content. Then when you get done with it all they quit anyways. Let the game roll out as designed.

  15. I really hope 8 weeks remains the standard. Im a dad and I want to be able to spend time with my family and also have time to do relevant content and not be left behind lol. 😅 I can get 1-3 hours in a day so 2 months to get everything done seems fine to me.

  16. Those that are not on a pvp server are probably doing the complaining about having nothing to do. Ratchet is a blast, killing all the alliance. Stonetalon mountain….gank-fest!

  17. As a dad and someone with a full time job, I like the phase length. It has given me and my friends, who haven't played in over 10 years, a chance to lvl get gear and do the raid. I don't think going back to 40 man raids is a good idea. We are a small guild and have trouble getting 10 sometimes. I'd be okay with 20-25 man raids but I think having the flexibility of less makes it so old people can raid and still have a life with our families but that's just my 2 cents lol. Meta gamers are killing the gaming industry but that's just my opinion.

  18. I cant wait to see this shit show at 60 sod is nothing more then buying illegal wow gold and doing gdkps your economy is already screwed and its going to get much worse at 60🤣

i guess thats why you like classic wow over retail because blizzard doesnt do anything about it so you can get away with buying illegal wow gold?

  19. I think phase 1 was maybe a little too long, but for the next phases i wouldn't go under 8 weeks. It is not hard/time consuming to level up to 25, but if someone comes in p2+ they will have a bad time catching up imo.

  20. People complaining about 10man raiding and wanting 25+ raiding are insane… seriously. Y’all are crazy. They could better tune a dungeon and actually make it a good balance of fun/challenging with smaller raid sizes.

  21. I disagree about the GDKP, people should be able to do what they want. Also a lot of people don't want to wait multiple runs without getting their bis, or risk coming up to the end of the phase without getting the loot they want, and you know that rolling for items can get ugly sometimes, GDKP is a very fair system in which you always walk away with something worth your time, either the gold or the items, I personally never bought any gold, but I prefer going to a GDKP even if I don't end up buying the items I need.

If you're in a guild you'll be more inclined not to do GDKp because mostly you'll have the same set of ppl playing with you and you'll most likely get your gear, if you're pugging then GDKP is a better method because if you're running every lockout with random people, your chances of winning rolls are worse, because a lot of times you'll be in a group with ppl that also need what you need.

  22. Thanks for the updates, but the real solution (regardig RMT) IMO is to just ban gold buyers- if the players buying gold got banned, it would kill demand for RMT gold and probably drastically reduce the prevalence of bots.

  23. I think a great "modern day" feature to implement would be War Mode/Fully Disabling PvP as wanted. I play on an RPPVP server and when i'm levelling and getting relentlessly ganked by alliance i just wish i could disable it and re enable it as i want to. I have too much time invested in my realm to up and leave due to the PvP issues i personally have.

  24. The people who complain that they have nothing to do probably play for close to 10 hours a day. Of course you'll run out of things to do when you can spend 5x the time as most people, and that's being generous.

  25. All they need to do for dual spec/respec is to give alchemist a new recipe called something like “potion of a clear mind“. This should be insanely cheap and simple to craft using things like peace, bloom, or silver leaf. It should stack up to 20, not be usable in battle grounds, and only usable out of combat. Drinking it would reset your talent points. This I feel would be the easiest thing to do and fill a need for everybody, removing the expensive cost, not introducing dual spec, which some people are against, and giving one of the professions a new recipe, just like all the other ones got

  26. how many dads vs how many sweaty hardcores who only have 1 game and cant wait longer than 2 seconds before the next dopamine rush? it drops when it drops.. friends will return if they had fun. let them gather data and make this as great as it can possibly be.

  27. so 10 man vs 20 man vs 40 man. 10 man is great to feel the progression of your character, more loot goes too you as there are less people available for your loot. 40 man is great because its hard her to be an asswhole where you only invite 7/7 hunter with crossbow that has with boons full consumes with greench. as well it brings more people of the same class, allowing the more popular classes like hunter, to not wait hours in trade chat LFG. 20 man is a middle child that has more of the same class, less loot, but less elitiest. I wont say which is best however I had server first on lich king kill that was a 40 man i believe and I had a blast. But these 10 man raids also feel great as when you get in discord you can freely talk to your other raid members, where in 40 man everyone is forced mute except RL and maybe some assists.

  28. Something to consider as well is the development time. If we get Blizz to give in to the pressure and release each phase ~2 weeks earlier than planned, that cascades into something like 8-9 weeks behind development. Something that might have been added may end up being scrapped because they wouldn't have those 2 extra months to work on it before release. This might be wishful thinking, but don't let yourself get too far ahead and urn out the clock on something that needs more time to be viable.
