  1. WoW videos are always funny to me because they manage to find new variations of the same problems the game already had 15+ years ago. It's like time travel. I haven't touched the game since Cataclysm, so it's kinda nostalgic.

  2. They aren't plaguing Retail. Not at all. Like i think i run heroic and normal on 6 toons in pugs. Not once have i seen this happen since the 3rd week of the patches release when i started pugging on 6+ toons. If any mode of WoW is plagued with GDKP though its classic in every form, from Vanilla to SOD its absolutely full of people cheating and GDKP'ing like MAD. If anything i have seen a dip in money for gold/items in Retail since SOD appeared since most the gold farmers and such are now doing it over there where all the boomer players are now playing who are the majority of the players who pay for gold.

  3. Find it funny, how these two guys can see how this in a way, damages the game, ruining for so many people, just wanting to relax and have a fun time, that can't farm this ungodly amount of gold.
Meanwhile Asmon think it's okay, because he legit doesn't need to work for his gold, his community would instantly give it to him, or hand him the gold he needs, to get the items he desires in the game, within a split second.
I could never play a game that has something like this in it. I want to play a game, relax and just waste time on it having fun, not worry I need 1million to buy one fcking item.
It's so fcking weird how systems like this appears within games by the community

  4. They need to : Either bring back personal loot — or if someone wins something on a "Need" Roll — you cant trade it. End of story. It is bound to you. If you win it on a greed roll vs everyone else who greeded and no one else "Needed" it — then feel free to try to sell it all you want at that point cause apparently no one needed it bad enough to hit the need button. At least that way if someone rolled and yoinked it and thought they could make a quick buck off of it – you could laugh at them when they were stuck with the item and hopefully they wouldnt pull that crap again.

Also could take it a step further — you could only roll "Need" On items you are currently in that spec for. It would stop people I've seen coming in on Fyrakk as DPS and needing on the tank trinket when the tanks need it and they dont get it it and the DPS does.

  5. True solution : Don't PUG
Needing when someone doesn't need has been an issue since time immemorial. Did the "Hunter who needs everything" stop being a meme? The only difference now is the ability to trade post winning the piece.
Do you take away the ability to trade again? Then you have grief needs and CS tickets again.
There's no proper solution that will make everyone happy.

  6. Unpopular opinion but there is nothing wrong with this system. Whether you lose the roll to a moneymaker or a normal player who needs the item himself, you aren't getting the item either way. They won the roll and are free to do with the item as they please, and if they want to sell it for a large sum of gold then anyone who lost the roll is free to bid. If you don't wish to buy then you accept the fact that you lost the roll and move on as you would in normal circumstances. Many in this comment section appear to be in favor of personal loot/untradeable items, then you accept the fact that trading to players for free, who need an item more can no longer happen because that also happens but I suppose less in raiding than dungeons.

  7. Solution: Remove ALL trading between accounts. Period. Everything MUST be sold on the auction house. You may freely mail to alts, but no trading between accounts for ANY REASON. Set prices on the AH to a fixed price to prevent ass holes from over or under pricing. All problems solved. No more gold selling. No more GDKP. No more stealing gear in offspec.

    Yes, it would work.
*Boxes can be unlocked without trading in a non-trade window.
*Enchants can be sold on scrolls on the AH.
*You can still mail gold and gear to all YOUR characters.

And the best part, none of these abuses of bad game mechanics and trading would be possible.

  8. YOU USED A SELF-IMPOSED LOOT SCENARIO WHERE EVERYONE IN THE RAID WAS FULL-META AND HAD MILLIONS TO SPEND, TO JUSTIFY A FAKE PANIC-THE-VIEWER VIDEO ABOUT GDKP RUNS??????????????

I'm playing on Illidan-US and none of this is going on. this was a ONE AND DONE scenario that hasn't happened ANYWHERE ELSE, and y'all tried to create a thing out of it???

sometimes it feels like Bellular is just hopping trend-fences. He saw *a post about GDKP Being Banned by Blizzard* and just threw it into retail's line of fire for the fucking hits…

it's getting so old. the weirdo insta-grat-takes from this guy have annihilated my ability to pay attention with any form of seriousness…one week it's "the best thing for WoW," the next week he spends just DOGGING it

  9. Its annoying as hell, you shouldn't be able to trade . You dont need then don't roll. Bring back personal loot cause people are just disenchanting item, taking things they don't need like literally full heroic tier and they still roll on tier sort of deal. etc.

  10. We found a very simple solution for this problem.

We no longer invite PuGs to raids under any circumstances, end of discussion. Better to not raid at all and run m+ instead.

We spent 3 years growing our community and being open to all that wanted to join, and used pug (N)HC raids as our primary recruiting tool. But now, you´re either already a member, or you can go pound sand, we´re not going to watch some random jackass roll on items they cant`s use just to try to sell them back to us for being stupid enough to invite them.

We had 8 of our core players ending s2 with only LFR OCEs, despite clearing teh raid every week and usually more than one dropping… That for some reason universally went to pugs who wanted us to pay for their next month of Sub to get the trinkets back.

We started by no longer inviting geared players, so that if someone rolled on it they would most likely actually need it…. Nope, still turned around and tried to sell them back to us.

SO we eventually said F that with a crowbar, and so in S3 and for the forseeable future PuGs can build their own raids and stay the F away from ours.

And the only permanent solution I currently see is to eliminate x-realm gold trading, and I said that exactly this would happen the day it was announced.

Seeing as that´s probably not happening anytime soon, I don´t see us inviting pugs to our raids again, either. I like the idea of enforcing the "Need " button, it wouldn´t bother us, but to be honest after S2 and now seeing Augurys get GDKPed in LFR x-times /week for 250k+, we´re all just completely done with the whole discussion and PuGs in general.

If people as a whiole now want to swipe, lie and cheat themselves through the game, good for them…but stay as far away from us as possible, pls.

  11. About that trinket 2 weeks ago there was a warrior making a fyrakk hc kill he was asking everyone if they came they accepted to sell him hc augury for 1 million gold. No idea what hapened at the end as I did not join the group.
Also in another group a guy tried to buy hc baleros for 1 million gold and the guy that got it sayed him no, he wa ted to play with it, it was not for sale.

  12. I know some content creators & players love GDKP but i think they love the idea they were using 15 years ago, and it is just too different from what impact it has today. They would have to change the game (remove tokens etc) but also somehow change player mentality that has been infested by purchase shortcuts when it's easy to do so, and GDKP makes it easy these days. I think back then, there were a couple of barriers to using it that kept the usage more niche. Now it cannot help but impact everybody, even for its positive aspects in the community sense.

  13. @ bellular do you really not know what a GDKP is. needing gear in a ms>os pug and selling it at end is not the same as a clearly stated gdkp run that sells all gear at end or raid on a bid system to the group. one person benefiting is not a gdkp. Please stop posting false news and shining bad light on GDKP

  14. It's intentional, a money grab by Blizzard intended to normalize paying real money to players who are acting as middlemen for loot. They are willing to turn off all new players and casuals from ever raiding in order to get a few whales to fork over thousands of dollars.

No way will I ever raid as long as this is the standard raid loot distribution system.

  15. GDKP is not a bad thing. Running a raid using normal loot rules and then someone choosing to enforce psuedo GDKP by auctioning chase items is terrible. Actual GDKP is an agreement that players choose to engage in and rewards everyone involved.

  16. Just put everything on personal loot. Tokens for armor/set pieces. Rest is luck. Suck it up. Problem solved. It's a RPG, not a competitive FPS. Stop pandering to MDI and RWF. There are better game genres to be "fairly" competitive in.
