The Nerubian’s wouldn’t have settled Azj-Kahet if they weren’t driven from their homeland. Today, we tell that story: The War of the Spider, where Nerubians, The Lich King and Yogg-Saron fought for dominance over Northrend.

The trolls did a better job of fighting the aqir than the Night elves. Then we the players did even better, with less people 😂. By a group of elite strike team or “raiders”.
The description of the war under icecrown citadel reeks of plot armor. Against an empire of thounsands of years comes this new power that lacks its major resources from latter on and it still won.
💯
tyr, odyn and ragnaros auto attacking each other looks so wierd 😅
With Ner'zul being opposed to the Lich King it would make sense for Yogg'Saron to aid him in his quest to combat the Legion who would seek the death of the Old Gods and their Void Lord masters.
Dont give a shit. Lmk when I can see the brutality in the game.
Nier Ubians are just the survivors of the War of the Spider that fled down and escaped, going deeper and spreading their web away from the surface claimed by Ner’zhul.
16:10 fairly certain he means the frozen throne as it was the expac to wc3 reign of chaos…
😮
Does anybody know what track is playing from 4:50 – 5:15?
Odyn has been imprisoned by Vyranoth….. something tells me we're gonna pay for that later on.
The nerubians are one of my favourite races. I actually predicted they would appear in the next expansion roughly a month before BlizzCon, citing the grey item from Zaralek and N'Zoth's whispers when we went back in time as proof. I predicted we would go back to Azjol-Nerub as a patch zone, a theory I felt more solidified by the War of the Scaleborn book that was in the Northrend area, and Iridikron's home of Harrowsdeep. I guess I was mainly right, but split in half in a way. Nerubians would be in the next expansion, but not in Northrend. Then it was confirmed we'd be going back to Northrend for The Last Titan. I wanna meet Seer Ixit and his group again!
The lich king uses Nord VPN – BELLULAR CONFIRMED WOW LORE
I thought that was a new skin for Warframe's Khora and I was like, "Wait, War Within doesn't have any Spider themes." Then I saw it was Bellular and was like, "Oh Warcraft."
They don't need to make a bipedal model for a race. They can easily ignore the hooves, chitinous legs, and slithering bellies. They don't have to balance them for now. Just open it up for people to try, and for roleplayers, it might bring old players, and bring more new blood in.
remembering the visuals of Wrath makes me wish for an Nerubian expansion. I know we're getting a zone, but how creepy if we got an expansion where we descended into the spider filled depths and not come back up until the next expansion. But no, we'll get one zone for them, and then a kul tiran zone and whatever else. I'd rather they do one thing and do it well.
Waiting for the forgotten Horde race to finally be relevant again… And playable atlast.
I'm talking about the taunka, who joined during the WOTLK but were for some reason completely forgotten.
Anub’arak is still one of my favorite Warcraft characters. A tragic hero to his people, he was eventually killed and raised into undeath. Made a powerful lieutenant under the lich king, he was named traitor king by his people as he now fought against them against his will
This is part of that "peak lore" we're always talking about.
Hmm, How do I say this coming from a wow enthusiast? Oh ya here… Yawn!!!
I'll be honest. When I saw the name of this video, I figured it was Danuser vs Metzen, not Lore. 🤣
A great dive into the lore!
Hope Blizz includes some kind of arachnaphobia option for this expansion :/ My fiance has crippling arachnaphobia and I'd hate for her to miss this expansion
What I don’t get timeline wise, how can the nerubians in the war within live in their capital city build on their old city, build on and older city, built on.. etc. if they just got there after the war of the spider?
I'm not sure if the nerubians in the war within are going to be the same nerubians that were in northrend. I was under the impression that they'd been there the entire time while the nerubians we know and love fled north before the sundering, because kalimdor was a super massive continent they would not have needed to use tunnels when it would have been faster to travel above ground to flee from the trolls. After the sundering if there were any tunnels they'd likely have been destroyed so its hard to believe they'd still exist for the modern day nerubians to use to head south.
16:05 you mean Frozen Throne?
Ngl i LOVE how yiu changed from clickbait ( what is absolutely fine for me ) to some od the most quality thumbnails i ever saw on yt without any clickbait.
Awesome
I FUCKING LOVE NERUBIANS WOOO
Nerubians are one of the coolest races in the entirety of Warcraft. I love how despite being essentially creations of the old gods they broke away to follow their own path and build their own civilization. That’s just not something you see often!
I love that they aren’t just “creepy spider monsters”. I mean they are that too, but also a civilization of great builders and scholars and ancient kings. The survivors are reasonable and cunning enough to side with us against the scourge and you can hear from the quest NPCs just how traumatic the War of the Spider was for them too, not unlike the humans and the high elves.
There were also Nerubians in the Island Expeditions right? Did we ever dealt with those?
Warcraft 3's expansion is actually called The Frozen Throne, but I'll give you a pass. Great video buddy! making me excited for the new expansion!
Love these lore videos you guys make! Thank you
"my might cannot be matched" still sends shivers down my spine.
"if it was centuries how did the nerubians get there" the centaur are from kalimdor but theres centaurs in the dragon isles idk man i
and so … Nerubian or "drider" fal'dorei ?? (elves/troll spider drider ???)
My character and ME. "Spiders… why'd did it have to be spiders?" all over body shiver
0:33 these animations 😂
I'm not sure where the "full Northrend revamp" is coming from, I took it to mean we were mostly focusing on Storm Peaks, Ulduar, and probably a couple new underground zones
I’d say it’s safe to assume Azjol Nerub is going to be an older dungeon guest for M+
Ah yes, Warcraft 3's famous expansion: Wrath of the Lich King
