Happy Friday, everyone! Today, we return to the Burning Crusade to take a look at a neat revelation I made while collecting some “vintage” WoW Classic magazines… I wonder what the Blade’s Edge Mountains could have looked like if this ended up happening! 🙂

What Classic TBC would have been like if all of the scrapped ideas and even Modern Retail HD Graphics was put in place? He could had gotten a interesting better Gorgrond mountains but with the actually stuff that made the zone more interesting from the scrapped features and beyond.
Another hidden gem 💎💎

Fun finds!
That’s really interesting! I’m glad they made the decision they did, Ogrila has an odd, otherworldly atmosphere and it includes one of the first mini games in WoW (It’s not very fun though lol) You can still do the reputation grind and get the Deathwing Brood cloak from there!
Blade's Edge is such a Hodge-podge of ideas that it sounds like they were planning for the zone to have an assault on Gruul's Lair-type scenario at one point then ran out of time. I have every reason to believe that this is because the zone is a questing area and it kept being put on the back burner. It would have made for a much more compelling story but it just turned into Dustwallow Marsh v2.
I know lots of changes happened in the TBC alpha/early beta. Like Silvermoon having more entrances and stuff like that. I'm curious now if this spot can be accessed in the TBC Alpha sandbox.
This is so neat! Great find!
Oh man, I remember finding an article from before WoW's release – seeing the old models from before they released the game is pretty wild! Player characters looking like they were made between 2004 and 2003 xD
Holy shit, I remember that website! 😀 Man, I was SO hyped. Sitting around clicking hyperlinks and reading blurbs got me so hyped, you're right. XD Oh, and the WoW fanart gallery back in the day was just amazing. SO MUCH great artwork. I've no idea if it's still there, there new website is a lot more "slick" for lack of a better word. One thing I want to mention with regards to the promotion of TBC was that they hyped up the Rockflayers as this exciting new monster, and they made it sound like they were going to be some kind of defining new factor for the expansion. Bizarre.
Blade's Edge is one of my favourite zones for the variety. Some of the quests are honestly horrible, but I'd still rather do them than fall asleep trying to level in Nagrand. The Ogri'la and especially their simon quests are definitely some of the worst content in all of TBC, but they weren't relevant for very long anyway and you don't even need them to grind out exalted.
Let's Go! New Jedi video 🙂
Ogri'la was planned instead
Hi Jedi!
Great Internet archeology!
as much as…questionable the story of TBC was, the amount of content created for the expansion is astounding and I think it remains unbeaten:
2 new huge capital cities, one for each faction PLUS a third neutral one in the form of Shattrath, for a total of 3. No other expansion has ever done that.
2 new races, TWELVE new zones, a new form of player movement, flying, that was not surpassed until 15 years later with Dragonriding, many beloved raids, SIXTEEN dungeons, a battleground and 3 arenas. Amazing to think that another city could have come on top of all that.
TBC went quite hard for its time.
Now look up the lost Ogrezonia, homeland of all female Ogres, that was removed, but whose landmass remains on WoD.
Ive always felt that the BEM map was badly done and the only real area was the mok'nathal village to get us acquainted with Rexxar. Once that was done it was time to move on to netherstorm and not even think about BEM again until you had to do gruuls lair.
I finally managed to quit gaming after years of addiction.
Out of all channels about games/gaming this is the only one Im finding hard to abandon… But all journeys must come to an end.
Thank you for all your cool videos, dear friend. I wish you peace and prosperity.
Man thats cool stuff, good vid man
Never heard this one before this may be a first mention of this any where to my knowledge very interesting
Nice video!! Very informative!!
"Is age of Conan the next big game" Wow I did not expect to ever hear about that game again. Funny to see it on an old magazine cover.
1:55 the nostalgia I feel seeing that flash promo is indescribable
Dude on god, how did you find this
Ogri’la was my first thought too.
