Ashenvale – Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft

Ashenvale is an ancient forest, and has been in the caring hands of the night elves for thousands of years. It was not until more recent years that things changed, with the coming of the Horde’s lumber harvesting camps, as well as other much more insidious groups. The Horde have seized control of several holdings in the eastern parts of the forest, and beyond their base at Splintertree Post, they have harvested the trees for lumber at the Warsong Lumber Camp and the Warsong Labor Camp. The Horde clashes with the Night Elves over control of Eastern Ashenvale, with the Warsong Outriders vowing to continue their lumber harvesting operations, and the Silverwing Sentinels vowing to drive the Outriders from their lands once and for all.

When Garrosh Hellscream became the new Warchief of the Horde in the wake of the Cataclysm, he unleashed a great war in the forests of Ashenvale.

The Horde military sent troops to reinforce Mor’shan Rampart, which had fallen victim to a renewed effort by the Silverwing Sentinels to drive out the Horde from Ashenvale. The Silverwing sentinels were also launching simultaneous attacks on Splintertree Post and the Warsong Lumber Camp. An orcish warlock poisoned the forest heart, which struck a huge blow to the Sentinels. Horde covert operatives killed the commanders leading the siege of Warsong Lumber Camp, thus bringing the alliance offensive to an end.

Soon after, eastern Ashenvale was under complete horde control, except for Forest Song. The Horde armies pressed westward, taking control of Silverwind Refuge by using a corrupted form of a water elemental, and also began an attack on Raynewood Tower and Raynewood Retreat. The Horde even started firebombing Astranaar, and with victory in sight, they moved in to take Maestra’s Post, one of the few remaining Alliance encampments.
However, when the mobilized armies of Darnassus were able to break the siege of Maestra’s post, and pushed the Horde out of Astranaar.

  1. After the Cataclysm, Ashenvale was not the same. A lot of things have changed, but I've decided not to show too much destruction. There is even a big volcano in the middle of the zone which I've skipped. Instead, I've focused on the beauty of Ashenvale and the classic Warsong conflict.

If you want to see the Classic version of this zone, links below.

  2. While I disliked Cataclysm (and thank you for not showing the destruction, which I found so out-of-place and cringeworthy, honestly), the music & amb of Ashenvale is still beautiful.

  3. I really love the ambiance and the music of this place.. as usually vanilla zones do, it kicks into the nostalgia factor. Thank You for making and sharing this video! I hope that all is good with You, and that You'll be able to spend some time to rest in the summer. With love, p.

  4. Bringing back one of the best memories of my younger life 20 years ago.. F*ck times goes fast.

Man I still remember buying WoW, installing it on my Pentium4 playing day and night, chips, coke, meeting people, dying during quests, “Go to the cave up north west” finding the cave took you 35minutes before the quest even started..

Probably one of my finest memories is all these players walking and searching the locations of the quests, there were no videos, no guides, nothing, you literally had to ask people in the world where the heck to go, and even if they knew, they would say, go up north and west next 😂.

God, great times, I went back for classic, but age caught up with me and the whole setting was different, it was nice to play Vanilla again but not the same by far.

  5. im fairly certain i was the person who told Alexsensual that he needed to stop stealing your videos for his commentaries and give you the proper credit. he deleted my comment but a day later he did mention you guys spoke about him using your content. even if it wasnt me the timing was uncanny. i dont know how long hes been using your videos but im glad hes giving credit now. ive seen people comment that youre not really "making" anything but the time and effort of the video footage, transitions, and including all the zone tracks with bookmarks says a lot.

  6. Thanks Meisio! Can’t thank you enough for these videos. Night Elves and Tauren were always my two favorite races. Maybe it’s something to do with their ties to nature. Night Elves have the most iconic / best music in Vanilla. I don’t believe I leveled in Ashenvale after Cataclysm so some of these tracks are new to me. My first character was a NE rogue… the nostalgia always hits hard in Teldrassil and Ashenvale.
