The Awakening the Machine event is a world event in the Ringing Deeps. It is unlocked at Renown 3 with the Assembly of the Deeps and requires level 80.

UPDATE
I did this with my Ret Pally and was able to heal the Speaker with healing spells. Playing a pure DPS class was much easier to kill things but you do take some damage on the last few waves.
REWARDS
Small Box = 250 Rep, 160-180 gold, 15 Valor, 2 Carved Harbinger Crests, 130 Resonance Crystals
Medium Box = 250 Rep, 160-180 gold, 18 Valor, 2 Carved Harbinger Crests, 50 Resonance Crystals
Large Box = 350 Rep, 160-180 gold, 20 Valor, 3 Carved Harbinger Crests, 50 Resonance Crystals
Jumbo Box = 350 Rep, 160-180 gold, 22 Valor, 3 Carved Harbinger Crests, 220 Resonance Crystals
The reputation rewards are warbound. So no additional rep on alts. All the other rewards are per character.

how do you get back in. I failed at wave 5 because i didnt watch a tutorial. now i click on the npc and it gives me the button to restart but its not porting me back inside to try wave 5-10
I was able to complete all waves with spriest with around 530IL. Recommend going in with better gear i almost failed a few times. On the caster mobs my silence was instant kill
Another boring event, can't see any value to do it just rep and shed rewards?
You can heal him. And both silence and fear kill the caster mobs instantly.
