  1. Blizzard treats their lore like it does the game itself. At this point they should just release lore patch notes, seeing how the lore changes with each patch 🙂

  2. Is it a sacrifice though? Like you say, the Winter Queen basically owns Ysera now and if Ysera is a key component to the management of the Emerald Dream then the Winter Queen just pulled a major power player over Azeroth. Chin scritchin'

  3. Oh hey what do you know, more crap they want you to spend your money on. And if you don't you won't understand the full story. This is the issue with blizz and there bull shit way of telling a story.

  4. The whole "sacrifice of the Winter Queen" angle is so toothless. What does it actually mean for a being of indeterminate power to sacrifice an indeterminate portion of that power to do something? Paired with the "this is all according to those wacky night fey" shtick and the "Ysera can't come back unless she can" bit, this entire passage says literally nothing.

  5. They are trying to fix the fact that Ysera ended up in the shadowlands instead of the Emerald Dream because apparently no one noticed this contradicted the existing lore when the quest lines were planned, the assets developed etc for shadowlands.

A few months ago they had tried to go with she would have regenerated first in the shadowlands then accessed the dream, but now I guess she was just so attuned to “the cycle” that she ended there — neither explanation makes much sense but I imagine they are going with the one printed in the pretty book.

They could have blamed the fact she was infected with the nightmare when she was killed to excuse her presence in the shadowlands. Something along the lines that the dream in its weakened state couldn’t really risk letting her in so when Elune took her soul she instead snuck Ysera in her sister’s land to be regenerated. Of course then they couldn’t shoehorn this whole great cycle bullshit. No point in getting upset tho, this has all been retconned before and it shall be retconned again.

  6. Ah yes let's make the lore even more worse because Steve Daunser can't even write a child book whenever he tried…oh wait.

Flush this down the toilet because literally like "Let's make YSERA STUCK IN THE SHADOWLANDS WHILE RUINING THE EMERALD DREAM LORE LIKE CENARIUS"

who the fuck sacrifice their entire being for your 'sisters' pet bruh that should've been fucking anima.

  7. From that first passage, it sounds like the updated lore is that Elune empowered Ysera. So did Eonar only empower Alexstrasza then?

Is this why the Broker made the comment about Titans notoriously stealing credit for things they didn’t do? So they could use that to excuse discrepancies in the updated lore?
