So we have the craziest reveal of the entire expansion. We just learned who is the new Arbiter of the Shadowlands which pretty much spoilers the entirety of ending of the expansion.
Turns out it is Pelagos, a relatively minor character of the Shadowlands that apparently also refers to us as a friend, meaning that we are now friends with the Arbiter of the afterlife.

Early Bois!!!!
GO PELAGOS!
The next Arbiter will be the player character
What previous Arb(it)er and Pelagos have in common :'D
Blizzard and rainbows a big KEK
BUT WHAT BROKE THE ARBITER?!
dont say Argus
PR team "jesus christ we need to do something to show support, make the only kinda trans character a god! i dont care if he is so useless he cant even figure out how to become a full kyrian, give him all the powers"
Someone who has only played through 1 Covenant is like someone only reading 1/4 of a book. You might not know Pelagos but i who has played at least one toon all the way through each of the covenants surely do know him. Not Blizzards fault you only went with 1/4 of the story.
An LGBT Arbiter, GG Blizzard…
I'm do tired of this argument about how influential our characters are. I get it, you want to be nameless, boring, nobody foot soldiers that the plot just happens to. Fine, whatever.
But, goddamn, you act like this shit is outta left field. Our characters have had a hand in major points in WoW recent history, narratively speaking. It would make no narrative sense for folks to not recognize that. "Oh, you were on the team that spearheaded the death of the Lich King and Deathwing? Cool story bro!". Seriously, I wish folks would be critical with some degree of logic.
I can take the argument that the narrative could be handled better, believe me, I lament that fact. But goddamn, this particular complaint is irritating.
These writers don't understand WoW and what people loved in it, clearly. Just like D&D didn't understand what people like in GoT, just like JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson didn't understand what people liked in Star Wars and the list could go on…
Lmao reminds me of The ending of game of thrones
so uhm, what about kyrian Players being literally soulbound with pelagos? like uhm so are we connected to the Arbiter? so like am i buffed af now?
Godtier editing
How does him becoming the arbiter first not make sense? Zoval is still gaining power by having the constant flow of souls going to the maw, us cutting that off should have some effect. It makes sense we would have to turn that off before faxing him , it after.
On one hand, glad it's not Sylvanas aka Kerrigan 2.0
On the other, Dabuser is still aroumd and will probably make her into a bigger Mary Sue
Hope we get Arthas back, since he might be freed during the Anduin fight
If Pelagos becomes the new Arbiter, what happens to our good boi, Grubby?
Uh no….9.2 just looks bad….I cannot try to play it..it looks like a bad mess between Ungoro and Tanaris….I leave it to you great Youtuber….to tell us the end of this story…..so we can finally put it on the shelf…..forever.
Sooo what happens with pelagos soulbind if he becomes the new arbiter? does that mean kyrians basically get pelagos replaced with the arbiter and its gonna become the 500% overperforming covenant compared to the others?
I would of never guessed ridge wallet was going to become the arbiter.
this is fan fiction level's of writing, I have pretty much lost all faith in the story telling at this point. First it's the garbage fire of the night warrior, then they rip off marvel with the jailer! Now they want me to care about some random soul bind being the new arbiter. "I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THE FIRST TWO ARBITER'S" so yeah I care even less about the arbiter's now! It's like when they kept switching warchief's around but even worse because I don't know these character's love or care about them I honestly believe they went way to grand scale for character's that have not had enough time to be considered grand scale. it's like if everyone in the world knew me after not knowing me a day in there life and then the very next day I AM FUCKING PRESIDENT! PLOT TWIST MOTHER FUCKERS
bro this has been the worst expansion lorewise. SO many better choices to be arbiter:
1) Uther
2) Sylv as a form of punishment/atonement
3) No actual arbiter but some kind of council with the eternal ones
4) (My wild card) Ve'nari.
But no, lets go with some generic NPC who was not good enough to ascend, came off like a cuckold in every story he was in, and have him be somehow just as powerful as the void lords.
Steve Danuser, kindly gtfo outta here
Maybe… the true arbiter is the friends we made along the way?
What a twist… 'redeemed Zhovaal retakes job' kinda sits up there as fitting the 'sure, why not?' level of writing lately.
Actually the idea of becoming BFF with a literal deity is kind interesting.
Now bear with me, imagine the following the Player (our character to be precise) slowly becomes more powerful to point of becoming a demi-god and then people star seeing us as threat the leaders and folk of Azeroth turn their back on us and cosmological forces start trying actively hunt us down. All of this because we are a mortal who is "too powerful" and that's a danger to the "cosmic order".
In conclusion this absurd power scaling has some potential for storytelling if done right but its Blizzard so doubt that.
