  1. As someone who doesn't really play Blizzard games anymore, cause well they just haven't held my interest after a few expansions of WoW and that I just don't care for unlimited ammo spray and pray Overwatch. I can say that all I hear when it says that "no more Blizzard games in China" is that it means no more of the "Chinese Bot Farmers" that use to be such a pain in the past in games like WoW.

Still I kinda agree with some of the other commenters here that it is some karma for doing so much to cater to China and not seeming to listen to the rest of the playerbase. So will be interesting to see how it affects future games.

  2. The Warcraft film was big in china because the studio casted Daniel Wu as G'ul Dan the main antagonist of the film, people might not notice it because he was a green CGI Orc, but i bet it was heavily advertised there

  3. I dont quite get it. They are in business of selling games, but they dont eant to sell games in China or Russia. What makes you think they would want to sell games in India? But where are they going to sell games then, in US and EU?

  4. I love reading the comments and seeing people absolutely shit on blizzard. Like, do we know if it was blizzard, or was it netease?.. China's got a pretty controlling government, and it's entirely possible they had a play in this. Wouldn't be the first time that a governmental body has had their fingers in the gaming world.

  5. How do you piss off a public against their Gov… pull their games from the public due to Government regulations…. Welcome to the Free Net Chinese People… Use that VPN to get your game!!!

  6. Blizzard just has to increase monthly wow subs to $25 a month and China doesn't matter anymore. Guarantee you that not a single wow scrub will notice. Anyone still playing Blizzard games will pay anything to keep their accounts alive.

  7. On the one hand, fuck Blizzard for what they've done. On the other, I'll be happy to play WoW if they redeem themselves by cleaning house, disavow The CCP and other dystopian people they defended, AND fix their lore.

Edit: Was anyone high up at Blizzard fired or replaced? If so maybe that could explain things. Hopefully for the better.

  8. Oh man… imagine constantly screwing the customer base that made you popular in the first place for over a decade only to be shut out like this… all for a market that's going to collapse as China's population collapses because of their 1 child per family policy.

  9. All Blizzard cares about is money, and they defend their name and brand like hawks when it comes to civil matters, with that being said, I'm sure Blizzard has plans to keep their customer base in China, one way or another.
