I think Anduin proved to him that light could reach him?… Maybe he intends to trap and slay Elune?
Hey, I've just watched your video about who to blame for Arbiter breaking from two weaks ago and then this and I was wondering something. It couldn't have been Argus or Xavius, because Zovaal tortured the Runecarver (probably Primus) and stole his designs for Frostmourne and The crown long ago before Argus and Xavius were killed. Because when lich king was created (probably through a deal between Kil'jaeden and Zovaal), Zovaal was free from chains (as we could see in the memory of the Runecarver cinematic). So if Zovaal was free back then, then he must have gotten his hands on enough souls to break free from the chains and that means The Arbiter broke long before the death of Argus and Xavius.
"Our duty is grim." – The Winter Queen
Death is a necessary part of life, but like life, neither can go unchecked. That balance has to be maintained, and that is the purpose of the Panthoens, the Titans, and the Eternal ones. Both Life and Death are a function of Order. Order cannot exist without chaos and so, the Purpose is borne; it is the endless struggle of Life, Death, and Rebirth.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he plan on using a few people to make fake first ones .
anima is weird as it kind of a life force and power. It can bring things to life or empower them greatly.
Now how is the jailer going to get free is the question few have ask. Where the keys , the lock ,cell and wardens
each zone is seem to be some one or was some thing .
I just remembered something. The light made a pact with the enemy of all.. I doubt nzoth would call the void "the enemy of all" so that leaves death. What if the light made a deal with zovaal? What if anduins ability to call on the light was a sign for zovaal and not really the light protecting anduin? I doubt the people sylvanas chose to abduct was based on revenge. She's above petty motives like revenge. Remember what lothremar said " sylvanas windrunner is a master tactician." She only acts out in rage on accident like in the old soldier.
Maybe Death is "the banished one"
Azeroth broke the Arbiter. Frostmourne, The Arbiter, The Crown and the first born are the seals.
Watch the runcarver cinematic.
Replay lich king raid end cinematic. And remember Blizz said this is when Sylvanus went to the maw and met the Jailor and look at the picture they released of her with him in the background still rather subdued. Then watch end of legion raid. Watch the Arbiter breaking video then Bolver losing and think about what the primus was made plenty of and where he was going and then read about Revendreth and who started the first rebellion which I think the Prince talks about after raid quest hand in. And remember the Nathrezim serve Denathrius. The titans and the "machine of death" is just titan made and not how death is meant to work the Jailor and death is not balanced. Denathrius used a corrupted soul to knock out Arbiter. The shadowlands is an occupied realm.. death can't exist without life soo its all about a cycle but titans made shadowlands to drain power from souls for light and life soo no cycle. We will break free
Danathrius' crown looks like King Menethil's crown just with a diamond Gem instead of a Circle.
Could Death be Muehzala (since he is the loa of death) and it’s been told that muehzala made sure sylvanas was made war chief
Accolonn,
I am starting to think that Zorvaal is not an Eternal but is actually a First One, potentially he could actually be the opposite of Azeroth.
If Azeroth is the Mother of Creation then is it possible that Zorvaal is the Father of Destruction and to take this one step further.
Azeroth has Celestial Dominion with aspects of Life, Light and Order whereas Zorvaal would have the counter balancing Celestial forces, so he would have Dominion with the aspects of Death, Shadow(Void) and Disorder.
Maybe we need to consider that Azeroth was trapped/imprisoned but in a manner that prevents her from taking form so she remains in essence for unable to manifest. Where as Zorvaal may have been imprisoned and trapped as well but it was not possible to imprison in the same way as Azeroth and as such he is able to Manifest but his power is greatly diminished.
So we know that the prison that keeps Azeroth in check is made of several Titan Machines and so far we have be involved with a total of four of them. Note the number four… How many keys are used to banish and keep Zorvaal in the Maw? It's four.. the same number that can't be a coincidence and is definitely something that needs to be acknowledged.
It might be feasible that Elune played some part in all of this we know she has a duality about her so what to say she didn't actually help the Eternals in Shadowlands to Imprison Zorvaal ; and then also help the Titan Pantheon to Imprison Azeroth. It is possible that Elune was planning this to take control of everything and didn't expect the Titans and the Eternals to figure that out and then managed to prevent her from doing it; in the process ensuring Elune couldn't be an issue for both Pantheons.
Okay so back to my thoughts about why Zorvaal is interested in Anduin and specifically his ability to draw on the light within the Maw. We know that there is 4 keys and each Covenant essentially is entrusted with one. However, what if just bringing the 'keys' together is just the first part of what is required and the actual final key is a Cosmic Force, and that force would be one which Zorvaal can't access or control either directly or indirectly. As said above assume Zorvaal has dominion over Shadow(void), Death and Disorder and the thing that binds him in the Maw is the Cosmic Force of Light. He would need someone that firstly has the strength to draw on the light and use it within the Maw and Anduin just provided him the key he was looking for…
I will take it one step further it is feasible that Elune was involved with the imprisonment of Azeroth and Zorvaal if you consider she is essentially Shadow and Light and has shown that she has access to powers from both Light, Life, Void and Death what she doesn't have is access to Order or Disorder. So Elune uses Celestial Force of Light as the final bind to Imprison Zorvaal in the Maw and inversely she uses the force of the Void on Azeroth to take her form away and turn her in to Celestial Anima or Essence (World Soul).
So now you have Zorvaal needing Light and Azeroth needing Void to unlock the final parts of their prisons… I would also state that Zorvaal hasn't ever said he wants to destroy Azeroth he has only said he has issues with the Arbitor and then there is something that he needs to take care with Azeroth. Maybe he wants to free Azeroth but to do this he needs to free himself and take care of the Arbitor… The real question is what does Zorvaal think of Elune… Remember Xalatath called her an Upstart God could that be a call out to the fact that she was the mastermind behind the imprisonment of Azeroth and Zorvaal but her plans backfired and she didn't obtain the power she assumed she would..i.e. Upstart makes sense then.
Curious what you think of my theory…
The souls that pass through the river of souls in the maw. One of them says "Lord Illidan will save us all, I seen this coming along time ago." ?????? Whoa.
General Draven in Oribos has an interesting line when you click on him multiple times: I have set worlds on fire, I have crushed entire afterlifes to ruin, I have stood against the forces of DEATH and the light! And here I am getting pocked..
after watching nobble video an idea clicked with me, what you think about denathrius creating the dreadlords and sending them to other cosmological forces, in questing we find out denathrius was experimenting with light and light retaliate and a force of naruus send there and got defeated and that's why the land scorched there seeing denathrius experiments and the book is it possible denathrius is the leader of dreadlords???
The Hidden Ones have a heavy emphasis in this zone through Denathrius and the structures he has built around his zone
A soul is in the sword, so maybe it was a soul similar to remornia that hit The Arbiter
I don't think Death wants to kill everything and just wants the cycle to stay natural, Death would never want to just end everything because its power wouldn't grow, while Life wants eternal life
Zovaal wants to free Death the true King of the Shadowlands so that the cycle can return to some normalcy
Ive been saying this for months! It explains the appearance of stygia, the destruction of "irredeemable" souls.
It's seems to me that the runes from the frostmourne look the same with those from the jailer. The one on his forehead looks the same as the one from the frostmourne…
holy shit ive never considered or noticed that about the BFA cinematic. its like she smiles cos Anduin confirmed for her that he is what the Jailer wants
I don't know a bunch about wow lore.. but what if Sylvanas is down here to fight the Lich King to regain her life so she isn't a banshee anymore? And by killing him and removing "her curse" it will free all of the Forsaken as well?
the only thing that's got me hung up is Maldraxxus. It seems like the characters we know are definitely the good guys
