This is a game of what was called then “DIE CORE” and is now called “DIE RITUALS”, which is the
standard structure for a game of DIE. This episode includes generating of the persona, the persona’s characters and their first steps into the world of DIE.
The game, as the content warning suggests, has a lot of here… but it’s one which really captures a lot what I love about running DIE. Every game is different, because it all comes from the people around the table – and what we cooked up between us seemed really striking, weird and moving. Queer themes in games of DIE are common, but this one really went for it.
If you’re looking at this after you have the final version of the game, you can learn how to run a game of DIE in broad strokes, but should be aware there’s certain rules which are just different now.
For example…
The Bad Dice has been retired from the game. Disadvantages now simply remove a dice from the dicepool.
The Emotion Knight rather than getting an advantage on their attacks, instead adds their D8.
A lot of set up questions have altered, and how they’re addressed to the player has changed.
The game starts with a specific safety ritual.

It's so funny, as someone who has ran DIE before I'm currently 22-ish minutes in and already 'handing out' roles in my head. Now I'll see if what I would have given them will match what Gillen gives them.
