Great lore, painful cinematic. Let’s break down what this means for WoW’s future.

  1. You know I didn't notice it that way until you pointed it out, and now I'm like yeah, that's actually really bad. Not sure what they're doing over there but I'm glad Chris Metzen is back, and hopefully The War Within will take a big 180 to what we've been getting lately and have some real, heartfelt, and epic storytelling

  2. I am also not a fan of this kind of dialogue, but I honestly don't remember 90% of the characters in WoW even though I typically play to enjoy the story beats. I try to keep up with lore, but every expansion I have to watch some video on Youtube explaining why this expansion follows from classic and beyond. This whole story is a windy-turny mess and if it weren't for these characters constantly reminding me what was going on I would not be able to follow. It reminds of an over-explained anime, but in a really long series that you come back to on and off its required or else you won't come back (for the story) because you've been thoroughly left in the dust.

  3. @BellularGaming the idea that this is the worst their storytelling has been really has me doubting you. You can't honestly say that after playing the previous two expansions.

How quickly people forget where we came from…

  4. It's hamfisted in literally every way; more Titans bad, more overly flowery emotional talking, more characters supposedly being important but we all know they're not. But it did sum up everything I hated about Dragonflight. Dragonflight feels like the new writers are trying to "Correct" Warcraft, telling us how our past ideas of the lore were merely "A biased perspective" yet the look they give us is just as hilariously bias.

  5. Yeah, that raid cinematic was boaring asf! Worst raid ending cinematic since BfA, SL ending was better than BfA, yeah sucked, but was better. Sick of cinematics that are just 2-3mins of people talking… couldn't have been done AFTER a BETTER cinematic, last good cinematic of this expansion was after defeating Rasz.

  6. "aspectral powers" yeah but not really since they titans made them aspects and this has nothing to do with them. Their whole dialogue was unnecessary, simply including the visual effects around their eyes was enough. Just play the deathwing cinematic in reverse and have some intern include a jpg of frost lady and moose boi. Most players would have just accepted that the dragons are now more powerful cause uh whatever tree magic, maybe budget deathwing dropped some epic dragon panties. And for those who care about the lore include a stay a while and listen with Ebyssian to explain that this power is somehow different and comes from oh so beautiful Azeroth cause we need the plot to lean that way.
Maybe its cause I saw the world soul saga cinematic just a few days ago but this felt really, really weak. And also a tad insulting, like someone at the blizz office thinks we are all crayon eating half wits. Which is ridiculous cause everyone knows red crayons are the best, they taste faster.
edit: having the dragons in their visage form also doesnt help.

  7. Absolutely exhausting trying to keep faith in the story of WoW. I was really hoping for a solid finish after the really nice Worldsoul cinematics, but nope. Just more weak half-assed writing that leaves me wondering why I even bother.

  8. Although I agree with what you said, your way of showing how everything went down explicitly left out Vyranoth being empowered as well. You would need to show she was given power, which wouldn't really work if she was mortally wounded and clinging to life in her only appearance.

  9. Man, you said it all so well, hats off to you. While I personally enjoy DF because it has been more straightforward, easy to understand (ish), and it’s truly beautiful, I also come from being a new player that started at the end of BFA and was so confused that SL sounded great (but wasn’t at all and I stopped playing almost right away) so my gameplay opinion is very limited. But holy shit I have watched god knows the many hours of lore and played almost every quest in DF and I yet have to fully comprehend how and why these aspects and friends are worse than the jailer? Also I thought I’d at least like alexstraza but my brain just shuts off every time she opens her mouth. I was expecting a more badass return based on previous lore but I don’t think we’ve seen them doing anything cool this entire expansion besides talking a shit ton and sending us on quests for them lol

  10. Feels to me that this last bit of story telling was made before mensen was put in charge, knowing how things go with big companies and projects like this.

I think the actual true test will be what the war within provides, if we just take the thrall & anduin cinematic as the start of that then mensons work so far is starting strong.

But still needs to prove itself

  11. Why did them gaining those powers back feel so cheap and lazy? That was not EPIC!! Gor the love of God they need to stop making alextraza talk, make her mute or something becuase that dialog is weak.

  12. Ok I get some of the criticisms, but saying this is the “worst narratives blizzard has ever done” when the shadowlands expansion exists is one of the craziest comments you’ve made in this channel.
