Duskwood – Music & Ambience | World of Warcraft

Duskwood is a cursed, dying land. Beneath the eternal blanket of darkness which gave Duskwood its current name, the Scythe’s effects have transformed what was once a beautiful part of Elwynn Forest into a land covered in gnarled trees and inhabited by the hideous undead and extradimensional worgen, brought along with the black fog hanging over the woods. Ogres moving in from Deadwind Pass have brought up even more problems.

Long abandoned by Stormwind, Duskwood is inhabited by a defiant people who still cling to their holdings in the face of overwhelming adversity. On all sides lurk dangerous creatures, from skeletal warriors and ghouls to ferocious worgen and, before the Cataclysm, some of the most powerful members of the Defias Brotherhood. The militia of Duskwood, known as the Night Watch, patrol the main thoroughfare and protect Darkshire, wary of anything moving through the shadows.

Perhaps the curse was enough of a travesty to befall Duskwood, for little happened to the land following the events of the Cataclysm. The worst that happened was at the Yorgen Farmstead, where the Defias mysteriously vanished. The farm is now populated by resilient Corpseweed and boars. Sadly, it seems that Lars is no more, as he and Sven Yorgen were chased away from their camp along the Hushed Bank, the small plot of land taken by Grave Robbers. Though the whereabouts and disposition of Lars are unknown, Sven has apparently been afflicted with the worgen curse and makes an appearance at Raven Hill.

Raven Hill is now a camp for the Worgen affiliated with the Alliance and has been somewhat expanded with a flight path and Gilnean structures. The Unseen no longer haunt the buildings, and even Abercrombie has decided to move on, close to Deadwind Pass.

  1. Duskwood Classic is a zone which I've covered extensively in my videos. But now it's time for Duskwood Retail. It sounds a bit strange to listen to Cataclysm music here, but I guess it fits. I like the music in Darkshire (yes, it is Night Elf music, called "Shadowglen").

If you want to see the Classic version of this zone, links below.

  2. I was so excited when I saw that you posted this video. Duskwood is one of my all-time favorite zones, and I'm always sad whenever my character gets to the point where they have to move on from the zone. Thank you for all you do in your channel; it means a lot to me and all the other people who watch your videos.

  3. I still remember pulling an all nighter with my 55 year old dad when I was a kid just to get through this area. From being chased down the road & slaughtered by stitches in the evening to gathering a party to slay him in the early morning. Now my dads gone & I have a son of my own to get into gaming. Time flies.

  4. I just got into Dragonflight and just decided to start fresh. I did that new intro zone to see it and then choose to level in Elywnn and Duskwood. I must be the only person who chose this route instead of jumping right into BFA stuff.

  5. I remember when Wow first came out I knew nothing about Warcraft, but I saw that it was an MMO where you could play as a zombie & I was instantly hooked. Love the starting zone for the Forsaken, & all of their associated lore! What a fantastic experience that was.

  6. Thank you tremendously, Meisio, for yet another perfectly nostalgic and immersive video!! Your videos truly transport your audience into the world of Azeroth, which is dearly appreciated and enjoyed…especially by those of us who no longer have enough "free time" in life to log into WoW these days. Hope you're able to keep producing similar content indefinitely (at your own pace, of course). Thanks again!

  7. I remember griefing in this area, i feel bad about these days and i'm not proud of it. I was a forsaken rogue and was bored so i started griefing low level alliance. Mainly humans because well, they're humans and i thought it was weird that people played human in such a vast fantasy game with so man cool races. I griefed and griefed while this music played. and know it's stuck in my head forever (along with the human dying sound xD). This sure is nostalgic.

  8. Dude can i ask, one thing. I want to start doing machinimas and other wow stuff. Is this music fair use? Can i use it if i put name of the music in to description? Did you ever get flagged or demonetised? Even Asmon has Wow music on loop in background. So i just want to know if its safe to use it.

  9. I started playing in cataclysm(human paladin). This was one of my favourite zones. The music was great and the atmosphere created a dark and mysterious atmosphere. 14 year old me will never forget some of those memories.
