  1. Seems like another boring weekly grind item, why is this the only strategy they have for upgrading items – how about this, you get higher quality gems as rewards for beating mythic + at higher keys? +15 giving the strongest version of the gem.. Way more fun and gives us a reason to push keys

  2. More gear homogenization, this is getting really really boring, there use to be agency with gear, interesting choices, now its all bland, simmed and parsed out. If your not min/maxing then your playing wrong, as if min maxing has a greater effect than player skill, even the devs min/max for us now. They may as well do away with all stats and just list item level, which is the real representation of your characters power. Its just so anti-RPG, anti-Fantasy, anti-Fun, and lazy development which we all eat up. I want to love the game, but this is ever so slowly becoming a phone game, from the flashy slot machine graphics to the homogenization, to trying to cater to casuals saying they can be hardcore too, without the effort. Why do we even need this ring?

  3. Ok so… Cyrce is also called Circe or Kirke. She was a Greek deity. Daughter of Sun God ( not Nika ) and sea nymph, so Siren motive and wind, sea and thunder gems are around but not precise. If it was sea, sun and wind i would be sold that there is some bigger meaning after it. Question is it just coincidence, simple Easter egg ( reference) or will it have some more meaning in future.

  4. whats the use of a 658 ilvl ring when all of its power is in the gems??? stacking stamina for what? if blizzard wants ppl wear that ring add primary stat to it on top of the gems strategy. also let ppl select what secondary stat they want from the gem not the highest one. it stops the over caping stats.

  5. Im a half step away from stepping away from wow again! This ring thing and the cheap mechanics and quests of the isle has put s bad taste in my mouth. Ive not gotten a single upgrade and the gear that drops is low item level and it gives the same trinkets over and over and over! I trying to remember what appeal this game still has left for me.

  6. Just had my first visit to the new isle and wanted to share my experience and thoughts – its terrible. The ring is no more than a ilevel stat stick, its forced on your char and you are also forced to go and put up with doing the shockingly poor new content – and i use the word content lightly, in essence the island is a transmog vendor, 3 new ugly mounts that no will use and a some out of date catch up gear that is no more use than what u get in the anniversary patch. As i was going aroung the island i actually felt embarrassed on behalf of blizzard. To think a bunch of educated adults all sat in a room and decided this was content that the wow players would enjoy is beyond my ability to understand

  7. Forgive me if this seems somewhat off-topic. I have played WoW since the closed beta and some years in I began playing DDO during the slow times, at the end of an xpac etc. In recent years DDO has achieved something unique among MMOs. They have figured out how to add gearing content that is both not a sidegrade per se but also not objectively superior necessarily to current gear either. What I mean is that they release patch content or an xpac and the latest gear isn't instantly turned into trash. Although within the DDO game rare and raid gear rarely if ever becomes obsolete at all, which is a masterstroke unto itself, they have been adding gear consistently that isn't "better" but is "different". For some playstyles and for some character builds many of these items are objectively superior and that, of course, is sort of the point of it, but moreso the added gear opens up new and interesting interactions with existing gear that deepens the complexity of the entire gearing process. Gearing in DDO is a game in its own right, there are many currencies (every raid has its own currency) and many different types of crafting, a game that is by no means mini and as deep as you want it to be. Many people claim that DDO isn't really a MMORPG due to its reliance on instancing but It is my belief that DDO is more of a MMORPG than WoW. Which brings me to something that has been bothering me about WoW for years. Every season and every xpac all that hard earned gear becomes worthless and we have to do it again, this is made still worse by there really being no progression but gear at level cap. Initially it was no big deal but every year it feels worse and worse. The fugazi of achievements and cosmetics does not fill this void, people enjoy mechanical in game power. After a long break it was the depth and complexity of the new talent system brought (back?) in with Dragonflight, that lured me in once again, for example. These cycles have created a community that is polarized into basically two groups, meta chasing speed levelers and casuals just goofing off, ie just looking for a good time, with naught in between. When PVP first came out PVP gear was actually useful, some of the best gear ingame even and people flocked to it, now PVP gear is irrelevant in PVE and PVP is dying. When all this brings me down, inevitably I go back to DDO and guess what, no matter how long i've been gone all my hard work is still there and it still matters ingame. I can get right back to it, and there is always something to do that adds to the power of whatever character I play. And with that power comes the depth and complexity I crave. New and interesting gear and crafting options, new content, these are all just bonuses to the experience. I can trash WoW for its raids having become idiotic arcadey super mario bros nonsense that requires a gig of addons to navigate elsewhere, but my problem at present is that I think the seasonal model is just antithetical to what a MMORPG is supposed to be. Is this perhaps the allure of Classic?

  8. So what you are saying is that the game is complete and utter trash from shitty new woke lore buggy dungeons, some classes nearly unplayable in PvE and PvP due to balance issues, borrowed power in the form of shitty hero talents, and now to distract us since they can't come up with worthwhile content, they offer more borrowed power int he form of a ring to upgrade?

  9. I'm trying to figure out the minimum I need to do to keep up on this. The island sucks. Random island. Daily quests to kill mobs…annoyiing hard to traverse terrain. Its so generic and low effort. Seems like three of the table quests and the weekly will do it.

  10. "so there won't be any rng" the bis stat gem from shuddering hollow was bugged for days so if you capped your gems you can't get it now and even if you try on alts the excav is really buggy and can reset or drop reward for no reason at all. But even if you do everything right, right? You still might not get it. This is the bis gem for every single class there is no suppliment for it and without the the ring is actually worse than normal rings from the current raid tier. Blizz needs to remove the rng elements from the bis gem and just add this junk to the vendor there is no reason I spend 4.5 hours every night spamming shuddering hallow every 2-4 minutes for it to not drop for a single toon. It's not fun, it's not cool, and blizzard really bungled this.

High m+ and raid groups are going to start requiring this ring once it surpasses heroic raid and m+ bis items which will be in a few weeks given the 2 stat gems that give the ring any value at all. So if you can't get this gem and blizzard never fixes this you could go into s2 with a useless ring you spent all that time grinding a single gem to get and just couldn't get. Blizz added no bad luck protection or work around, either. Once you're stuck without it, there is nothing you can do but wait until the vrykul invasion type comes back in like 3 weeks. Does that sound fun? People that got it will be doing tons of damage and you'll spend hours here for nothing. Blizzard didn't think this through and didn't listen to ptr feedback really. Remove rng from the gems.
