Of all the classes, the Monk might have the highest potential. It has a unique and fantastic core design, it just needs that little extra push.

  1. WW changes are complete poop. Bad enough MW is the only FUN spec now its not worth maining if your off spec is that much more boring and weaker .

  2. How would making the spirit animals permanent affect the monk? I personally would love a spirit tiger that roams around with me. It could be really cool and add a unique flavor to the class. Perhaps, as you stated, having a mechanic that interacts with your pet also would feel really good. For example, In Guild Wars 2 the ranger class has a specialization that allows you to absorb your beasts spirit and change your abilities. Maybe absorbing Xuen could infuse our attacks with lightning damage or something.

  5. This probably wont be a popular opinion but the only thing stopping me from putting time into my monk alt is the fact it doesnt use weapons. I dont like using hand to hand combat. Just not very exciting for me

  6. You hit the nail on the head! Why bother to learn a complex class when you can go elsewhere and get the same results in an easier class. I like ww monk just gearing one up, It’s fun to play, I feel like it needs more abilities, more complexity, higher dps, and more survivorbility.

  7. They could fix up the pointless talents for sure, but honestly even though monk is not represented a lot in the game, they still kick ass. Im a bit sad that ToD is changed but I think having Xuen and fort brew baseline (plus expel harm as part of the rotation), makes up for it. Ww monk is still a killer in pvp and I hope they stay that way in SL.

  8. Is it really still the least played spec in the game? It's been the most fun since forever. In my opinion as a long time monky boy, what really needs attention is the way the blackout kick animation does à weird little back on itself awkward motion when you move during the kick. Looks silly lol

  9. Mop was the best for monks hands down. Keg toss was so badass, and being able to toggle on and off your clones was dope as a ww. Padding the dps meter was all I focused on, every add had a damn clone

  10. i just came back after 4 years of not playing actually im in legion i need to buy BFA hahaha i use to play brewmaster because it felt strong now i feel like windwalker is the better way to go i play monk since MOP alot of things they just ben made complicated since then but more things has ben added with are fun to your ideas where preatty good i hope they implement some of them

  11. I agree with the sentiment about fist of the windlord. Legion ww felt awesome and it was what got me into the class and loving ww and mw. Running into a pack on pull and hitting an ability with a cast time, or a single combo point generator feels bad

  12. He has axes but he fights punching and kicking with axes in the back ?? it doesn't make any sense and destroy the class for me … it would be better to redo the animations and add LOTS of skills .. this SUPER boring…. He should use a stick and fight like a kong fu master and not like that.

  13. Dragon punch and strike of the windward baseline, boom. Ww is already fun as fuck but give us that and new talents. I haven't changed talents in 4 years blizzard. Well except when serenity was bis, but even then I just got lazy cuz wdp was more fun and better aoe

  14. Monk needs help in a lot of areas. Our class fantasy feels very lack luster. WW animations for FoF makes it impossible to tell your real range. It also looks silly now compared to something like blade dance by DH. I'd love to see more monk style animations and damage spells. How about more wind based type of combat mechanics. Or a vertical component to "flying" serpent kick. Or the great ideas your team had. Literally anything would be better than what we got.

However somethings are looking nice… not great or fun or exciting but… nice. Our survivability moving into SL is looking a little better. Which is absolutely necessary.

Our talent tree however DESPERATELY needs addressing. Specifically hit combo, it should be Baseline. Same with Wdp. Then we can look at interesting things to do with the spec moving foreword. Until this happens monk will be railroaded into "choices", namely hit combo and wdp.

Your summary of something being missing is bang on. I'm a ww main and love it… almost. I would never roll alts IF there was some attention payed to this spec.

  15. As brewmaster, the invoke ox dude takes some of your stagger. Xuen should just generate chi or energy or something. Apply weakness. Really not that difficult.

  16. i was talking to my friend who plays a Spriest and hates insanity. but he suggested why not remove insanity from Spriest and give monks a similar mechanic where they build up a bar of some kind then when its full the monk could actually use there weapon and get some of there skill changes like Blackout kick changes to blackout strike etc.

  17. World Top dps Monk here in MoP, havent played it since, tanked alittle in WoD but nothing more. After seeing the changes over the last cupple of months im planning to go back to main monk again. WW seems solid, Brewmaster getting back alittle of its flavor (i still miss the Ox Statue putting shields on your raid the more dmg you do), and that fistweaving starting to get more and more love really makes me consider monk again 🙂 2hand vs. 1hand is also awesome! Looooove WW 2hand fantasy.

  18. 2:29 I honestly disagree. It became the same issue Arcane has where you do a ton of burst, then just sort of waddle along. Thats already sort of a thing because of how SEF works, youve gotta wait for Fists to either come back, or hold it, then gogogogogo. Now that feel isnt doubled. I like it.

Nobody is sad to talent SCK for M+ over hit combo. Not a single person. Its 200% fine.

  19. For me they killed Monk in Legion. I mained Monk when it came out from MoP to WoD and the Legion revamp was completely incompetent… They changed the whole essence and pace of the class in an attempt to capture some cliché monk/ninja-like concepts that just didn't work. Combo strikes/New mastery felt completely redundant. You just wouldn't use the same ability twice that often so what was the point? The few moments where you would want to use 2 Blackout kicks for example instead of pooling chi/energy just broke the flow of the game… Hated it! On top of this, Storm Earth and Fire was a really cool tool to enhance multi-target cleave which raised the skill-cap of the class tenfold! Tigereye Brew meant that WW was supposed to be this constant high dps spec where you had frequent dps-buffing windows which kept the spec really interesting, SEF just transformed WW into one more melee dps where you just click a button every couple of minutes to do more damage and then sit and wait for it to come back up (in PvP Tigereye Brew added the benefit of also amplifying your healing meaning you could use it defensively… Also, although I didn't quite enjoy the changes from MoP to WoD, adding tools like Hurricane Strike and Chi Explosion actually helped the spec over all). Come Legion, SEF became this completely uninteresting "double tap for ST" and "tap once for AoE" damage window and Tigereye Brew was simply removed…. Long story short… Everything that made WW fun and unique for me was simply removed and replaced with mediocre attempts at quality of life improvements…
