Feral Druid finally received a buff on the Shadowlands beta for World of Warcraft in the one area I felt it needed it: damage. Even though the buff was minor, it was basically a class wide damage buff, making our instants, finishers and periodics all hit a bit harder!

  1. They did the same exact thing at the beginning of BFA. Feral got like 3 separate 5% damage buffs and it didn't help much. Although that was because our aoe was non-existent. Hopefully that won't be the case this time around.

  2. This is like.. the smallest kind of band-aid buff they could do. It shows no thought into how to fix Feral dps, which has been in a broken state for quite a while. They either don't know how to fix it, or don't realize that it's broken, so they just up the numbers a bit, which does nothing to solve the intrinsic issues with the energy, rotation, and rev-up that suffers the class.

  3. The problem i have with Feral is that its been the same mechanics for ages…. the class needs a modern cooldown, that interacts with our skills…on a shorter cooldown…

    I will probably play druid, and even feral, but a spec like subtlety is so much more fun for me then feral.. because of how dynamic and rewarding it feels… having a single dps cooldown on a 3 minutes timer does not really work well for me..

  4. heart of the wild is great. makes the class feel like a hybrid class again. that said as a feral bloodtalons is garbage and needs a rework. if they keep the current bloodtalons talent im probably going to have to go MoC just for the quality of life. you have to manage your energy, bleed times, combo points, snapshoted buffs, do three different abilitys (without overlaping your current bleeds, or going over combo cap) and make sure to do this in 4 seconds. if you don't do this and happen to mess up congrats you just wasted your time and now have to do it all over again.

  5. I literally run out of energy after about 8 sec in combat after prepatch went live, which sucks when combo point builders are my top damage. I have barely enough energy to maintain bleeds…..

  6. If you need a flat 5% damage buff across the board, on what? Nearly every damaging ability on the class, you are not designing the class properly. I'm glad to see it, but this feels low effort and really does so little to address the core issues of the class. First off, from a performance standpoint, yes the class lacked raw numbers, other melee classes play much easier and outperform you. One or the other is fine, but if two classes perform optimally and one was much more involved, it should see some form of reward, maybe not in damage but increased utility to the group at the least. The second issue is that, yeah there is nothing feral "does" it doesn't offer anything that other classes or even the alternate druid DPS spec doesn't do, or do better. A flat 5% buff might meet the bar to make the class playable, but it does nothing for its half a decade long identity crisis.
