  1. Makes me wonder: I previously thought the Shadowlands were broken during Zuvaal's imprisonment, but what if they were before? If the First One recreated the Shadowlands by using Domination Magic on its primal form?

Also, if Zuvaal made a weapon out of his chains, he might even have been opposed to this magic in the first place, thus the other Eternals's surprise on him using it. His betrayal might have been his wish to restore the Shadowlands to its first form. Him saying "Every soul has its purpose" might not just be disregard, but a hint of him, like the Arbiter once basically knowing a soul or rather directing a soul on its path without deciding its fate … A fate different from the sort of domination the other Eternal Ones intended.

After all: Sylvanas didn't say she wanted "to set us all free" for nothing.

  2. Rare Necromancy (The power Sylvanas used on Saurfang is not Domination magic but a rare, forgotten necromantic magic. Domination magic's prime color is blue)
    1. The purple white magic Sylvanas used on Saurfang was a rare type of necromantic magic. This power can be seen in the WOW cosmic plane map's Death section of magic (Necromancy).
    2. The Mawsworn's symbol can be seen in the Arbiter Chamber's empty Eternal One seat
Zack Synder's Justice League & World of Warcraft Parallels
    1. Darkseid's first invasion of Earth = Azeroth's War of the Ancients (First war against Burning Legion on Azeroth).
    2. Anti Life Equation carved on Earth = Whoever controls Azeroth might control all of reality in the universe (Plane of Disorder, Death, and Shadow made attempts to conquer Azeroth)
    3. Batman's Knightmare = Zovaal starting an apocalyptic invasion on Azeroth.
    4. I don't know if the Mawsworn have their own cruisers and ships like the Burning Legion. They probably do since Zovaal needs to prepare for his attack on all of creation.

  3. Has anyone connected that the Runecarvers greatest secret was the runeblades, and not the sepulcher which basically can confirm the runecarver isn't the Archon?

Runecarvers broken mind would mean the Jailer would have info to where the sepulcher is based on Jailer implying that he has ready accessed runecarvers memories before?

  4. We got 2 hero classes so far:
    Death Knight and Demon Hunter
Death Knights were introduced in WotLK
    Demon Hunter in Legion

Demon Hunter's had a real impact in Legion – while DK's in WotLK had no real impact except for the story line of Arthas.

Knowing the story so far and the lore – Do DK's belong to the Shadowlands?
As a new DK, only a few glimpses of their past life exist and that would mean that their soul is mostly gone.

A Death Knights have some specific items/tools/resources
They use Runic Power and Rune System for their attacks (Sounds familiar)
So DK's know about Rune Magic
They enchant their weapons with Runes, called Runecarving (Sounds familiar)

Who taught DK's all about the rune magic and rune carving?
Arthas realy did not as he was possessed by Ner'Zhul ( Crown ) and the blade was kinda like the one Anduin strike down the Archon.
The sword had their one purpose for Arthas and Anduin.
The Armor is what took control of them

Would be cool if a DK now in Shadowlands would/could meet his rest part of his soul somewhere. Getting memories back.

  5. Could Domination Magic be a subset/rebrand of Order? Order claims 'arcane', but what if that's a cover? The Titans of Order run the closed loop and, like the Abrahamic God Yahweh, took credit for creating the universe and all the little things special to it.

  6. Accolonn, I have a theory which is something you and others might want to explore further. What if Zorvaal is actually being Dominated himself by a First One? In essence I believe that he might actually being Dominated himself by none other than 'An'she' who is 'Elune's' twin and the reason for this is that An'she is actually the hidden imprisoned entity within 'The Maw' and specifically Torghast.
To extend the theory further I do have a massive write up about it all but I will summarize it and condense it to the TLDR.

    * Elune was originally aligned more to the Shadow (Think Night and the Moon) while An'she was aligned with Light (Think the Day time and the Sun)

    * An'she got all the attention and was more visible essentially than Elune who was hidden in the shadows. So became jealous and envious of the attention her brother got and she wanted that attention for herself

    * She plotted and worked out what she would be a way for her to take what she desired from her twin for herself. However, her plans didn't work out the way she fully planned. She wanted to cleanse herself of all Shadow and take on the persona of An'she and the light fully but, as her true nature is that of shadow she wasn't able to fully cleanse the darkness within her and this forms the duality and the constant battle within herself.

    * Elune actually setup a system by which An'she is imprisoned in The Maw but she also had to ensure that Azeroth her own mother had to also be imprisoned to ensure that she wouldn't undo what Elune had set in motion and her own plans.

    * Elune used the Titans of Order (Pantheon) to assist her on constructing the tools and machines she needed to imprison her mother within Azeroth and then maintain it. Elune then used the Eternal Ones to setup the machines and tools in the Shadowlands to maintain her prison for An'she and the ability for her to draw and use her twins abilities for herself and her own goals in becoming a the Entity of Light she so desires to be.

    * An'she managed to corrupt and take control of Zovaal and through this he attempted to use Zorvaal to allow him to escape or undo something of the mechanisms which Elune had put in place. This is when the other Eternal Ones turned on Zovaal and imprisoned him although they believe that it was Zovaal they don't know or realise that it is actually An'she controlling Zovaal so he is no longer Zovaal but a pawn for An'she.

    * Zovaal can use Domination magic because it isn't Zovaal using it but he puppet master from within his prison in Torghast.

    * We know that Domination Magic was actually used as part of something used to imprison Zovaal in the Maw. Essentially both An'she and Elune are ones that know about and understand how to use Domination Magic and it was Elune that assisted the Eternal ones in modifying and creating the imprisonment of Zovaal. The reason that Elune did this is that she was aware that An'she was actually using Zovaal but as she has kept the fact that her twin is actually imprisoned within Torghast for everyone but herself and likely her mother Azeroth. She manipulated and assisted the other Eternal Ones in how to create the upgraded prison she now required for Zovaal to prevent her twin from using his puppeted tool to achieve what Elune is trying to prevent… Her Twins release from the imprisonment she created for her so she could achieve her ultimate goal.

I have a lot more to this theory but I thought you might like this concept and others might like it as an idea to explore and consider.

  7. The secret I believe is Azeroth itself. the first ones tried to hide Azeroth with the shroud enveloping it, The jailor clearly can already use domination magic to extract the memory from the Carver and the control the "lich king", and the Runes can be used everywhere, from the DK runeblades and Rune enchants, To the Vrykul of Northrend and Stormheim, and in so many other places. So maybe the Runes are just a way to enhance magic no matter which type and not just connected to Domination magic only.

Edit: Remember the jailor image that leaked before shadowlands announcement ? with the Titan-like Aman'thul look ? .. I think the use of Domination magic "withered" him to the way he is now. and the orb in his chest the other eternal ones took away and used it to create the Arbiter which took his rule in the shadowlands.

  8. They took almost the exact fight between Kurapika and Uvogin in hunter x hunter and applied it to the sylvanas vs Bolvar fight.. so I wouldn’t be surprised if they took that plot from covenant. They’re slippin on originality a bit

  9. Could Domination magic just be another term for Decay? It's described pretty similarly in Chronicle, and Spirit and Life are also claimed to have a strong relationship, so would make sense for Death and Decay to.

  10. I think Sylvanas magic is only low tier domination magic, the true full form is the runes the Jailer uses who are maybe simply the language of the creator of the warcraft universe. Like the sound magic in elder scrolls. The more words you know in that language the more you can do by simply speaking and writing it.

  11. Now, in my mind, Domination magic is responsible for the ENTIRE SHAPE of the cosmological map. THEY shaped it as they saw fit, and NOW they stand back and enjoy the show.

  12. The secret the first ones saught to hide and what he intends to weaponise is The Plague of Maldraxxus, he intends to use domination magic to subdue it then allows for its destruction later on in the xpac. The primus is either securing the plague personally or has chosen to strategically put himself (and the last key?) inside the plague so that the jailer cannot obtain it. A master strategist would both have this initial plan as well as utilising his potential to systimatically bring about the defeat of the plague source once and for all.

  13. I believe the Domination Magic is an atribute of Light. It represents the very essence of Light wich has as very intrinsic the atribute Order. In order to have Order you need an innate sense of falling in line, of subordonating, of respecting an hierarchy. Otherwise Life would be just one single blob that grows and devours everything else. So, from a Life thriving standpoint, you need some innate boundaries for the every single creature, so that this will permit the existence of OTHER creatures. Otherwise every single creature will search to devour every other creatures. This innate sense of order, of selflimiting it represents the very base of domination magic. Because while being a manifestation of Life this innate sense of self limiting it represents the very fundament of Life's diversity and prosperity, as a Death's manifestation it represents a twisted slavery because now this innate atribute of falling in line is no longer used as a mean for general prosperity. It is used for the sake of using it not for a higher purpose. And i think that the reason why the Jailer was jailed is because he had something to do with stealing/discovering these mechanismes and using them against their natural purpose wich from a Life's standpoint it represents nothing short then an abomination. And maybe this is the reason Light decided to attack the Maw. Also it might explain why Zuval needs a champion of Light to better wield magic over. And maybe Zuval was a rogue Lord of Light that defected to the Death's side, convinced in a Sargeras' manner. And maybe these Covenants fockers they are too Lords of Light – i'm a bit stretching here, I know. My 2 cents.
