Join me on my inaugural journey into World of Warcraft Classic playthrough! After many recommendations, I’ve decided to dive into this iconic MMORPG. As a newcomer, I’m open to any hints and tips you have to offer.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a beloved MMORPG released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment, set in the Warcraft universe. It’s been four years since the events of the previous game, and Azeroth awaits exploration!

  1. Someone confused you with the whole "log out at a pub to get XP" thing. Ignore them. You have to log out and stay logged out for days in order for that to matter. Also whoever told you to keep lower ranked spells on your hotbar is an idiot. Ignore that at your level of experience. It won't do anything but confuse you. That only matters for healers and max level raiders. Get rid of lower ranked spells on your hotbar.

  2. If you find yourself running out of space to put skills and items open up the options menu click interface and look for “action bars” and check however many more you’d like to show 👍 don’t forget to train conjure water & food so you can replenish Hp & Mana without having to buy food or water from vendors

  3. The (Complete) marker on quests is a signifier that you've reached the needs of the quest, and that it's ready to be turned in. Like if the quest tells you to collect 6 apples or something, once you have all 6 it will say (Complete), but you aren't actually finished with it until you turn it in to the correct NPC.

The whole XP thing with logging out in a pub is for when you're done playing. The Rested XP bonus takes hours to kick in, and was Blizzard's way of incentivizing people to take breaks from their game.

The Questie addon is very useful! But be warned, sometimes it can be a little overwhelming. If you have a collection quest where you need to kill mobs for an item, it'll show you the location of every single mob that drops it and will fill your map up with clutter. (There might be a way to change this, I'm not sure). If this happens, just mouse over the things on the map if you're unsure of what they are, and it'll tell you either what the object is, or what quest it's for.

When you received Power Word Fortitude, it was from another player. Some players will give you a buff as they pass. It's seen as a polite gesture, almost a form of etiquette.

As a mage you don't need to worry about keeping your lower rank spells on your hot bar (there are some exceptions at higher levels, but nothing you need to worry about for higher levels). Really only healers need to worry about keeping different ranks out.

Don't forget to watch the chatbox. You missed someone asking if you wanted some free bags. They were probably leveling their tailoring skill, a profession that makes cloth gear and items. You can buy more bags in Stormwind, but they are very expensive. Unless you go on the Auction House, they might be fairly cheap there depending on the economy of your realm.

  5. start your pull using frost bolt and then use fire bolt since they will be slowed. Use fireblast for an execute or on cool down after the initial pull. Glad you're having fun
