In this episode of my first playthrough of World of Warcraft Classic, I decide which direction to take my Mage in after doing the quests in Goldshire and try to get up to level 10 in order to have the talent tree open up to me.

Join me on my journey into World of Warcraft Classic playthrough! After many recommendations, I’ve decided to dive into this iconic MMORPG. As a newcomer, I’m open to any hints and tips you have to offer.

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a beloved MMORPG released in 2004 by Blizzard Entertainment, set in the Warcraft universe. It’s been four years since the events of the previous game, and Azeroth awaits exploration!

Drop by anytime for a natter, I’m usually floating around.

  1. To access your professions you can go into your spell book and you'll see "Tailoring" there. I believe the hotkey might be K, but absolutely probably wrong there. From there you can make the shirt from material you gather. The shirt will be absolutely worthless, but you need to craft a few of them to level up your tailoring skill in order to learn more recipes. Eventually you'll learn useful things like different cloth armors and even bags.

I think you're probably ready for Westfall. Elywnn Forest is meant for levels 1-10. Green quests mean they'll be really easy, and below your level. But yellow quests are for the level you're currently at or are doable. Also once you get to Westfall you can do that chicken quest lol.

  2. You can go to westfall at level 10 or you can take the long way to the dwarf starting area and do some questing there to 11 and then go to lock modan and level to 12 before you go to westfall. Classic can be fairly linear if you do lots of dungeons but if you mostly solo, you will have to travel around abit to keep questing at your current level. This will be more apparent in later levels

  3. You need cloth to make the items from tailoring to see the materials needed I believe it’s “P” on the keyboard and then you should get the profession tab and you can drag the tailor icon out onto your bar and clicking it will open the tailor menu 👍

  4. Wow, I just stumbled upon your video, and I am enjoying them very much! About players riding griffins (eagle things), they are the players using faster traveling path, accessible by talking to "Flight Master". Each zone has one. You can just talk with them and learn the route and next time you can use them to move faster between the zones. Flying mounts didn't come out until Burning crusade expansion.
I wouldn't be too worried about the quest icon colors in Westfall, its level 10-20. There are several quests involving Gnolls near to Elwynn Forest – Westfall border, they should give you comfortable exp boost for your journey towards Westfall. And I highly recommend grouping up for "Hogger" quest. He is difficult to manage solo.
I am looking forward to watching more of your adventure

  5. You run to escape when you said you had no mana. There you could use your mana potion, which was even visible in your bags there 🙂 You can drag it into your bars so can easily use when needed. It's just 1 you have though, so it's gone after use. Until you find of buy more. Mages might learn to make "mana gems" on later levels propably, which work as mana potions, bit same way that you can conjure your water already.

The basic route for human leveling is to complete Elwynn Forest first, then continue to Westfall. The more northern areas you looked are mainly for dwarf and gnome areas. It's possible to go there too, nothing stops you. Just be careful, most areas are hard to get by just running through other high level areas. If you want to go to quest on those dwarf areas, there's actually very intelligent subway system to get there to Ironforge (other big capital city) from Stormwind. You can check that out yourself maybe, not spoiling too much 🙂 It's worth to travel and see the world, as there's so much new places for you to see.

But overall, I still recommend to pick up alwaus quests leading you to new zones, even they are bit high level. And in Wow, there are often long quest chains, which will go through several levels and zones, and usually on those long quests chains there can be some better item reward in the end.

And for that bag key, as if the default is shift-B, it's easier to switch just to B. I recommend to browse through the settings, especially the keybinds. You might want to change something for more comfortable personal choices. Later when you have much more combat skills, you might want to figure out keybinds for more bars than just the first 10, like using second bar with shift-1, shift-2 etc. But don't worry to do it at once, just remember that you can do that, and do adjusts when you level and get new important skills, both as a mage and as a player 🙂

Thanks for doing these videos, still nice to watch your trip. 🙂

  6. You'll do a whole lot less running if you go ahead and accept ALL the quests from everyone. Just having the quest doesn't mean you then have to run off and do it. There's plenty of room in your quest book.
