What is the current state of your guild? 🤔
In an HC guild and a number of people quit after curve. Tbh I think there is a cycle of negativity in the game. So many content creators and Reddit constantly shit on the game. A lot of the criticism is fair, a lot of it isn't. For example I know people who hate the store mounts but are completely fine with the ffxiv store mounts and refuse to acknowledge the double standard.
I think people are just worn down with blizzard making the same mistakes over and over again that they aren't willing to give it another chance.
Stop playing wow man. Play FF14. Do it
SoD is very very dull, grey, chains, long runs, and a 15min last fight, all rooms and fights pretty boring, CN was much more fun.
The daily activities are boring and so repetitive. 9.1.5 will not change anything. I only raid log to help the guild. I dont care about legion m+ or mage tower.
Having fun in GW2 at the moment, no grind, never behind on gear, horizontal progression loads of content. Imagine every expansion never invalidated the gear you have.
A raid alone won't keep people playing. The systems implemented outside of raids are broken and frustrating. I play a priest, but can't play all my specs optimally because of the covenants. Up until 9.1.5 I can't even go back and change them whenever I want to play them because the ability to change is gated. I also can't play much on my alts because of all the chores on my main. I also don't understand the gear scaling. We run mythics quite a bit in our guild and we are also on heroic Sanctum, but the gear for most of us that drops in the heroic raid we are working on is below our mythic gear. So why are we bothering with heroic? lol, I really don't know. I show up because I like the people. We could be staring at Ogrimmar's auction house for all I care. Or just hop on discord and unsub wow. The problem may be that years ago, they decided to retain players they would take the chore (i.e. dailies) route. Instead of creating a small task based quest for new content, they create things like Korthia with a daily quest grind. They should have set the expectation years ago that the game would have a moderate inflow of content. If you are playing 5 or 6 hours a day, yeah, you may run out of things to do and that's ok. Go do something else that evening. Instead, they tried to fill the content drought with chores and complicated systems that could be fussy (i.e. shards). Lastly, each expansion losing any progress I made in the previous expansion is becoming old. In fact it was old after WotLK. I worked my ass off in WotlK and when Cata hit it held no value. It was frustrating so I quit, but I have come back and left several times since then. That's one of my issues with the structure they have created, very little carries over across all expansions. One thing I have taken away from the WoW videos I've watched over the past couple of months is GET RID OF THE RIDICULOUS SYSTEMS! While they are at it, make reputation account wide. The only system I can recall enjoying is the fishing rod legendary.
My guild is really struggling to make a mythic team 😩 we’re only 1 of 10 M but 6th pull on the Eye 4% give more ranged dps !
I can also tell you it's not from a lack of resources that this game is suffering. When the board approves of a 200% bonus structure for the CEO which amounts to what, 155 million dollars. That's a lot of staff you can hire to improve the game and increase content output. Why? So he can buy another home, maybe a second yacht, or brag about his pay to his "friends"? It's like a dairy farmer killing all his cows so he/she can have fifteen freezers of meat.
My Guild stopped raiding but I really like the raid. Clearing it every week with my arms warrior and prot pala and really enjoying it. quite sadge situation.
im an officer in a guild. i didnt even get aotc. i just straight up quit a month ago. the systems and loot drop nerfs were exhausting. the weekly renown gating and quest gating was exhausting. the 'alt friendly' isnt even close to being right. pvp is such trash man.
my guild itself is doing ok though. 15 to 20 people are still raiding each week trying to get aotc. thats the normal amount of people. the amount of people logging in outside of raid night is the same amount of people that log in during times like the end of 8.3 before the prepatch. its not very good tbh
I think the looking for group tool helps out with the killing of guilds
My view on it might not be that its not the raids that are bad/poor its more of an expansion issue, Im in a heroic guild and we went from 40+ raiders in Nathria having to use 2 raid teams to get everyone in there to not even managing 20 people for Sanctum, and 90% of the people that have gone are not playing at all. Personally i was running a lot of M+ in BfA and season 1 of shadowlands but i dont really like the dungeons that much this time around, and i know many with me are feeling the same way. Never thought i would say it…but i kinda miss Freehold 😉
I feel like the positivity around wow has really fallen off. People dont want to play a game they feel is on its way out, no one wants to be on a sinking ship unfortuntaley. I still enjoy the game personally but wow has such a negative aura round it now that it almost feels like its forcing its once loyal customers away. Also there are genuine competition with huge buzz around now (FF14 most notably). Also wow is so old now that people are just burned out on it after years and years of the same cycles.
Lol people still use guilds?
No offense, but this video seems like one long surprised pikachu face meme. Is it really that surprising that this is happening? I mean, Shadowlands has been so terrible. There's a reason why the WoW section on twitch can barely muster 20k viewers right now while freaking New World, which tbqh looks like a mediocre game, has over 600k. This expansion has tired the playerbase and they're desperate to find something else. It's as simple as that. Between the game being in the state it's in and the all the lawsuits, Blizzard has burned through pretty much every ounce of good will they had. And if you think this is bad now, just wait 'till November. Once Endwalker launches, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see WoW reduced to a virtual graveyard.
My guild is dead. Raid team fell apart and the recruitment process yielded too few replacements. I can barely scrounge together enough people every week for keys. Most people have quit because of the covenant system and/or SoD having too few fun bosses. I'm not sure if they were reflecting on the reasons entirely but I suspect the first tier lasting so long had something to do with the exodus. It felt like we were limping into 9.1 having already been burnt out on the game from 7 months of doing the same thing every week.
i can only speak of my experience as someone who plays since 17 years and who cleared every content until BFA on is highest difficulty i can tell that guilds are disbanding pretty fast and now it got to a point where peopel have no patience anymore. I as a exampel stopped because my last guild disbanded and i am tired of searching so i decided to skip this raidcontent shadowlands didnt excite me anyways so it doesnt hurt me to not raid mythic i also got burned out of it its time to move on or make a break.
Blizz should lower the price of sub, I just spent 206k on 1 wow token jeeze
Ok. I might he thé only old guy saying this. I don't like thé colors in thé new raids. I swear. I love thé raids . One more thén another. But thé used colors…. make me quit early…maybe stupid. I want to see things i like. And this i dont
It have nothing to do with the raids. yes, it last long. they should atleast add a single boss raid every .5 patches to keep it fresh. M+ is fine'ish (little repetetive) and pvp in general is fun. The reason I quit back in febuary was the impossible mission to get high'ish arena rating, cause of all the boosting that was going on. Also, all the other chores. I could not keep my main up and no chance to get my alts at the same lvl. I think at this point (and as I've heard from several ppl), ppl just want to clear or get their mains up to the "end", then wait for the next patch to drop. Ppl have fugured out that there are other games out there that are fun and not a chore. And as more and more ppl quit/take a break, more will follow, since the main drive of WoW is the social and that they HAD the majority playerbase. Im still subbed, but im waiting for it to be fun again.
Literally EVERYTHING they're changing/fixing in 9.1.5 makes ZERO difference to me. I have every class at 60. I have every covenant at or very near max renown. I have more than half my characters at or above 220 item level (so able to at the very least participate in 9.1 content). I haven't done torghast in MONTHS because very few classes have more than 1-2 consequential legendaries. There's been WAY more than enough time to get everything done, and I did…the hard, grindy Blizzard way. 9.1.5 is a patch too little too late and Blizz got what they wanted. Honestly, that's the main problem I have with WoW: 1) Blizzard doesn't listen to and/or actively engage with the player-base in a meaningful way to make players feel like a contributing factor to the games success–they do what they want, when they want and treat the players like whining, entitled babies; and 2) the player base in general has taken a nose-dive lately. I don't know if it's introducing new areas around the globe to the game through marketing or what, but…the caliber of players is just…bad lately.
I'm from Brazil, raiding on a 5/10M guild on Nemesis. Nemesis is an ally dominated realm, but with medium pop (it was FULL on Legion days), and we see over and over people migrating to either Azralon (horde dominated BR realm with FULL pop), where the big raiding guilds are, OR to other American servers such as Illidan, Stormrage or Area52.
Our current core roster stands united so far, only one dropout cause he stopped playing wow, and we have some replaces to spare. But I don't know how it will be in the near future.
This happened to two guilds I was in or had friends in. We went from 25 man roster, 1/10 mythic the first week, to eight 4 weeks later. Some of this was a chain reaction once we didn't have enough for mythic, but still sad.
Another old guild I still have some alts in, used to have to make two raid teams for heroic. They lost two gms, most officers, and no longer have ten consistent raiders.
The first guild I mentioned, has managed to start progging mythic again. This is only because we reached out to a couple of other guilds in a similar predicament, and the new team is the fragments of three guilds.
So many of my friends have quit the game, and now whenever I do talk to them, all they have to say is how much they hate wow. I don't know what's really wrong but good God something is
It's a combination of a few things … Bliz have put far too much shit in the game to limit and stop any fun, timegating and 0 excitement anymore. logging on just ends up feeling like a chore.
Add to that all the recent internal Bliz issues and sprinkle some content draught on top for good measure, you'd be forgiven for thinking they are trying to ruin WoW on purpose!
9.1.5 kinda has to happen to have any hope of saving things but I fear it's very little, too fekin late !
The raid is good, everything around it is pretty horrible. 3 month grind for Korthia rep which is totally RNG. One day 1300 rep other day 250 rep…
The dungeons having only 8 mythic dungeons is kinda boring too. Playing alts is like totally impossible with the covenant, boring chain quests and the 10 hour campaign which is mandatory to complete.
Blizz fucked up big time.
the game is boring i am sick of all the grind that you have to do and it's not even worth it i was ok with it a few years ago but doing the same thing every expansion just gets boring blizzard have to do better make more open world content and make it fun not just world quests they were fine in legion but now they suck
my guild died because of the controversy and lawsuits and all that stuff, not due to the quality of the raid
I'm still playing and looking forward to 9.1.5 opening things up to play alts and alt covenants, should be fun for awhile
Sup Madzies! I think people were complacent with a game they’ve been playing for decades and they saw an out. So you get the big players leaving and every turd on here internet just lemmings. Not like the xpac didn’t have issues. There’s no replacing mythic + or wow raiding. There’s no game that matches that experience.
Ive had mutliple guilds fall apart from BFA through SL and just got tired of the to do list and all my friends leaving. I also use to enjoy content outside of raid and m+ but it felt like raid logging was now the only way to play. I stopped because it seems to me that there are other companies doing more with less and i just want to enjoy a game with story and content with friends.
My 2 cents. Going to set all M+ dungeons on 15 both ways and be done with this game. Might play a bit of D2R after if they get ladders up and running.
ngl dude. i legit love the raid. the fights are fun, they are not completly braindead..
i dont think that people left becuase the raid is boring. they just left because they are burnt out
Both my AOTC & Mythic raid teams have disbanded within the past 3 weeks.
My Guild died at the start of BfA!
It was one of the most heartbreaking moments for me in WoW, because the only reason why I even played WoW in the first place was because of the people and the friends.
Being a Healer main means that you depend on other people, because if there is no one to heal, why even play?
Shadowlands sealed the deal….r.i.p WoW
I think SoD is an amazing raid and SL great expansion but I think folks dropping out is dominos effect. Longevity of game, more mmo choices out there and finally the catalyst being all the drama with Activision Blizzard.

pfft, wow sucks. honestly you must be doing something right because that game is shit now
I think like this pepole are burned out if u are raiding high end there is a lot of stuff u need to do outside the raid as well i have been in a few guilds that dispandend in nathria my current guild was in a bad state at the end of nathria but we recovered in the beginning of shadowlands but my personal opinon is after u get 10/10 mythic its not much els to do
You dont know why? Good morning, they found FF XIV raiding was better and is frequently updated with a lower budget then WoW, and its old content is well balanced for progression and is still relevant for flex reasons like titles and mounts. Hope this helps you out understand.
Castle Nathria was a more interesting raid with Sire D taunting you throughout. Inerva, Artificer, CoB, CN fights had personality. So did the trash mobs. SoD just feels so bland in comparison except for Painsmith.
Our GM and officer team disbanded after the allegations against blizzard came to light at the end of August. I feel like everyone was just done with the game and shitty systems too. We still keep in touch on our discord, but its just sad. I miss those guys!!!
Hey madz I hope the game dying out don’t effect your Channel too much I know you have put a lot effort in to this
When a game doesn't respect players' time, they lose players and shadowlands does not respect players' time.
My guild disbanded during Mythic Fatescribe prog… People starting to stop showing up, and our roster went from 25 to 18… We were no longer able to raid. I found another guild to kill Mythic Sylvanas, but, I'm not sure if I want to continue after that…
Here's why WoW is dying:
For me, the most fun piece of content this tier was Tazavesh. It's quirky, fun, and challenging. There is so much lore with the merchants, it feels tied to the Shadowlands (and even as far back as the Outlands). This dungeon is fun AF.
But why isn't anyone running this anymore? Why is this the most stale content?
Because it is, by design, meant to be done once (or twice) and that's it. There is no incentive to ever do it again. It's not part of the M+ rotation, the gear with valor, there is no hard requirement to complete the dungeon before doing anything else. Nothing.
This line of thinking to punish the fun content and incentivize the menial, boring content has been prevalent in all of WoWs history. And players are tired of it. 9.1.5 is too little too late. The community has left for greener pastures, realizing that there are more fun, better games out there.
Blizzard did it to themselves by chasing false metrics, catering to toxicity, relying on the worse kind of gatekeeping and FOMO, and their player base has just had enough.
The main attraction is raiding for me. Wow raiding is really great. I consider "fillers" like dailies etc. as totally "debilitating" stuff. Thorghast had such a potential, but Blizz totally wasted it.
