Legendaries have been one of the most sought after items in wow, and for a good reason too they are by far the strongest items in the game, at least until they are replaced by leveling greens in the next expansion that is. And so of course we have had MANY legendaries over the many years of wow, and with many different methods of obtaining them, which we will be going over today.

  1. As usual, everything after Wrath was simply making everyone to be the special snowflake and giving them a legendary. I think it is totally fine if there are only a hand full of ppl. on your server wilding a legendary weapon. But I have to admit the amount of farming to get one has really increased, but this was a necessary change since everyone could obtain one.

  2. I miss the air of mystery vanilla wow had when it first came out. Seeing legendaries in the wild felt genuinely amazing.

Now legendaries just feel like another prerequisite items for raids

  3. Being a Rogue Thunderfury And The Warglaives were a wet dream. I only managed to snag a MH Glaive when it was current content. Never seen a Binding dropped in Vanilla. Quit wow in Wrath before Trials of the Crusade raid went live.

  4. Early Wow : Even the best and most dedicated players were lucky to get one
Mid Wow : Anyone could get a legendary as long as they put the time and effort into it.
Current Wow : WAAAH!! I've been playing for 4 days and only got two legendaries!! This game suxz!!!

  5. Vanilla is easily my favorite method. The Legendaries are supposed to benefit the guild they are in entirely (and Sulfuras is a meme I guess). That way it could be a rare drop that everyone would be excited for as it meant that guild got stronger.

  6. Nice video!

You just forgot the legendary essences of the heart of azeroth, that were only a cosmetic plus version of the epic ones.

And also maybe the legendary bow dropped by Sylvanas on the 9.1 raid

Pd: and I do not know if I'm wrong but I think there is or was also a Legendary Battle Pet.

  7. what about the legendary bow off Sylvanas? This video sucked not only did you forget a ton of legendries you didn't go over how powerful they actually were. The Sylvanas bow was quickly replaced the following patch. How can you call anything a legendary if it doesn't even last an expansion let alone a patch? I'm curious if the earlier legendries last that short.

  8. I remember talking to a priest in my guild (what up Wintersong?) about late game epics and legendaries being replaced
within the first few quests I'm BC. It was a head scratcher at the time.

  9. I like the way to implement Legendaries like the Fangs of the Father. An initial start, some really cool Lore-Quests.
But I don't like the idea of class specific Legendaries. This way they have to go with Spec-Specific Leggy because otherwise most specs won't be played.
If I think about it I kind of want something like the artifact weapons. But behind Solo and Raid Content with a Questline through the content.

  10. What I always ran into. I’d help someone farm their stuff and get whatever. With the mutual agreement we’d help one another. Never would fail. They’d log off and rarely get back on that toon. And they’d always give you some BS. In the end. Never help lol

  11. i stopped raiding altogether cause raid groups were only taking people with legendary items. me being a casual player i wasnt about to go out and farm for what ever legendary items i needed

  12. The way itemization in WoW works and the idea of legendary items just don't seem to go together in my head. An item that's legendary should never be swapped out any point, or at least should be swapped out extremely rarely (like once or twice in your character's entire lifetime), but the way items work in WoW, you're gonna have to swap it for an uncommon by some point in the middle of the next expansion. Compare it to LOTRO, for example, where you get one legendary item and one legendary weapon in Moria, and that's what you have for the entire rest of the game, levelling along with you with your choice of stats and even name. True, legendaries in LOTRO don't really have prestige to them, but I feel more of a connection to my Guard's sword than I do some characters I've made in other games

  13. Vanilla logic: It's called legendary for a reason. Only a few people on each server should have it.

Modern WoW: What does legendary even mean, really? Players like the color orange so why not give everyone a legendary?

  14. I preferred when legendaries were exclusive. Even though I never got one, it was still super cool to see them in person. They were trophies and that is what they should’ve been to this day.

  15. So while I was hunting for Invincible in ICC. I decided as an excuse, to complete the Shadowmourne questline on all 3 classes that could obtain it. Which took me forever, thankfully I had a friend, help me cheese the really difficult Blood section part. The shard collection and getting all the materials and bits weren't too hard in modern wow to complete, the Blood however required you to have friends, which I do not have lol. In the End, I completed it three times, and FINALLY got Invincible for my troubles. I won't go near ICC for the rest of my life 😀
