Thanks madskills, had no idea about this, so hopefully now I can look into and sort addons in time for SL
Mad, we need a review on the Ajour addon manager. It is way simpler than the Overwolf CurseForge, and it is actually doing only one thing, helps you to manage your WoW addons, rather than being everything and anything.
WowUp is another good one. I saw it recommended on Wowhead a few weeks ago and checked it out. It's super simplistic and much nicer than the Twitch client.
No, bad company i will never ever install their software. Bullying wowup trying to shut them down, their past actions shows just how bad they are.
Even with all the privacy settings turned off they still collect data sell it to 3rd parties its in their T&Cs.
Its just bloatware add delivery software data scraping nothing more.
If i want to give money to an addon developer then i will give it to them directly i don't need a middle man skimming it off the top.
Addon software needs to be small light fast and do nothing more than manage addons.
It looks like the twitch version of the addon manager
Already switched to WowUp and quite content with it.
Truthfully the data collection is the main thing that will prevent me from using anything like this. I don't mind pay for certain services if reasonable, but I try to minimize how much of my data is collected whenever possible. The ads are also a concern, if they are anything like WoWhead ads. For now I will just manually download my addons as needed.
Thanks for all your videos man! I watch you more than I play wow during these times 🙂
Personally, I switched to WowUp. No ads or other bs.
It works really well and also allows you to update ElvUI outside of the TukUI client. You can set addons to download automatically so you will never enter the raid and get the dreaded "your DBM/Big Wigs is out of date".
I will stick with WoWup far superior 🙂 1 client, open, update, close and done nothing running in background, no adds, no tracking. Even does ElvUI and can update from not just curseforge but multiple sources. If i use an addon and like it, i will support the author via a donation if and when i have the means.
Somebody correct me if I’m wrong but I seem to remember overwolf being very intrusive. And it Also installed its own annoying overlay.
I refuse to touch anything from Overwolf, anyone got some good alternatives?
wowup is the better one by far
I stopped watching when you said it's a sponsored video.
Nah, having to install 2 apps just to download addons is a deal breaker. No need for it, i'll use another addon downloader instead.
If i could just install the curseforge portion, that would be great, but having to install overwolf aswell, well thats just silly imo.
My question is why should I use curseforge vs just using the twitch app? Like how is it better than what I already have?
ajour is a good choise. Would not trust CurseForge i would use no addon manager over that
WoWUp is way to go imho.
Will my addons from twitch carry over to the new client?
Will give it a try
WoWUp
Wait what UI is in this video?
The game companies should have a workshop section for addons and mods with a link to support the creators. The least they could do. 16 years and still no bas ability to shift bars or unit frames around. I’m new to the game and shocked at how shit the uni options are
how to downloading 32 bit ?????
you should start to delete the wowup shill comments, the guy was caught collecting userdata, who knows what else he hides in the precompiled exe
jesus christ i came here to find out how to install addons, not hear 5 mins on ads.
i dont like it , i play wow classic and the only addons that work for me are dbm and questie i have a hard coming up soon and yeah fuck curseforge at this point not working for me i see yours says alpha mine is beta maybe yours is working but mine is crap
this is rubbish, I downloaded it and the poxy thing wont even install, awful app its not even finished its in beta
So the video doesn't answer one question I have about if I go to use curse forge overwolf or whatever the fuck it is now will it recognize the stuff I have on there already from the twitch app and if not am I going to have to go thru the whole set up all over again with this new client
I cant install it it keeps saying no connection pls support.
stfu dude just show me how to install it. I dont even understand what your talkin bout
Halfway thru get to the point man lol
