Time-Lost Proto Drake is an infamous World of Warcraft mount added all the way back in Wrath of The Lich King expansion. Even though it’s been a literal decade since it was first added, this mount is still seeked out by a large part of the playerbase. When I go camping for it, I usually find a bunch of people around Storm Peaks. Today we will we delving deep into how to get it, the spawn timers, despawn timers and some tips, tricks, dos and don’ts.

  1. One thing not mentioned in this video, Storm Peaks has a reset issue. Meaning if there are no active players in the zone for 15 consecutive minutes, the zone will reset. This makes it pretty much impossible now to zone in and find a TLPD just flying around. Odds are if one spawns, someone's already camping the zone.

Another thing is TLPD now has an enrage timer and a 100 yard leash. He will enrage after 4.5 minutes and 1-2 shot you.

Also, its good to make friends to camp with but take my advice… if youre farming with randos on a competetive server and get a spawn on you, TAKE THE KILL IMMEDIATELY. I learned this the hard way and it resulted in another 6 straight, nonstop weeks of camping. In that time I saw 52 Vyras and 6 drakes. Believe me, I never wanna see Storm Peaks again…

My group was very lucky and we finally got a spawn up at Ulduar in a super dead realm so everyone was able to get up there and get the mount. Plus we were in chromie time which was even better.

  2. With the addition of Chromie Time, I would argue that it is possible to solo farm this mount since I just did it on my account. The problem is the zone will reset with no player activity in after 15 min so just log in there and out every 10-12 min to keep your shard because from my experience you will almost always be the only player there
