Last checked, Monk is the least played class in the game. But a lot of you guys asked me if WW Monk will have any viability in the next expansion, or will it be overshadowed by Rogues, Demon Hunters, Brewmasters and Mistweavers? I try to answer this question, but remember its still all early Beta.

Perhaps, I will main WW in Shadowlands, as I want to play all three roles. But this variety is what kills WW. All utility that WW has is shared with other specs. They don't bring any unique thing to party/raid. The same problem with MW – they are just healing machines and even can't do good DPS like Holy Paladin. You don't need WW or MW if your party or raid already has a Brewmaster, which is the best tank that everyone want to be in a group.
Definitely one of my top choices for a main! Really excited guys!
I can't quite get the hang of WW in BFA and I wasn't sure what I did wrong. The rotation feels awkward but now that you mention it I'm probably just not handling the mastery very well. And yeah, it is a lot of CD but it's like Unholy DK I guess- just stagger those from one pull to the next. Duly noted.
Even though the Nightfae ability seems weak right now it IS 60% AP on a 30 sec CD… But it can Reset. Lets say you get 1 if your RNG is crap. Thats 180% AP over 1 minute. It should also fill the downtime you sometimes get when you dont quite have the energy for Tigers Palm, or youre waiting for CDs with maxed Chi. Then it generates some you can pick up after using your stuff. You will gain decaying x% (10% atm) mastery all the time as Nightfae DPS from a conduit anyway, and WW should have high uptime on the full % since the CD is low. Lastly, its not AoE capped I believe. I think its gonna be a sleeper OP kinda thing. Then again I dont have beta and could be chatting shit, but it sure is more interesting than a 2nd. Xuen from the Venthyr.
Very nice overview in this video though, informative as it needs to be. The baseline spec seems very nice. Should I HAVE to Ill go with whatever covenant is strongest on paper, but Im holding out hope for Stomp. I mean it also seems real good for Brew/MW so. Idk.

Will WW be the counter to dh in shadowlands? Or something else?
Watching these videos… i really don't want to finish bfa , corruption etc… even i didn't got acces at all even now.
windwalker is boring. the playstyle is too slow. you cannot smash those buttons because u run into danger to double use an ability and lose your mastery. not like DH. DH is fun. imo, blizz could remove WW. because it is just a worse DH.
That legendary is so op
WW monks have the worst mastery in the game and very few people like to play a class that if you miss press a button you lose a large portion of your DPS until you build back those stacks.
Touch of death change is so bad
all you see on beta is ww monks and demon hunters shadowlands pvp is looking really bad with covenants being involved.
I actually find WW to be a good sustained damage class that can bust when needed to. You have 2 charges of your biggest CD and with touch of death you can burst when needed to. If anything that's why I like playing WW for sustained damage and I never feel like I have a big down time. Unlike Ret paladin where outside wings, you feel like a wet noodle slapping everything.

anyone that picks up a single dps spec class expressly for the purpose of playing that single DPS spec is setting themselves up for failure
Just seen the raid testing… every raid took out the WW and put something else in, thats how bad they need to tune them.
Revert ToD changes, Remake legendaries. Bring back strike of the windlord. Also buff hitcombo % damage. 1% for each stack is meh.
ww has been gutted ever since 6.0, by the looks of shadowlands it will remain sidelined for another couple of years
1. Too many buttons and gimmicks in a game where playing pretty much anything else nets you the same or better results and is also easier to play as well.
2. Lame theme. Edginess is the thing today, and Monks have no edginess whatsoever, they''re the exact opposite of edgy.
Neither of these things are fixed in SL, so don't expect Monks to go up in popularity from the least played class in the game.
Ahhh ww monks, one of the funniest spec in the game and also one of the most complex, the reason why this spec is so unpopular is because ppl are just pusys that don't like to use their brain
Worth mentioning that Monks have yet to receive a single blue post, and remain a completely ignored class in the eyes of Blizzard. They are riddled with bugs..
the amount of covenant toggles and that there are wild swings between builds in damage of any class is giving me anxiety, blizz needs to stop their crusade against sims
I just want WW monks to be like in Legion, a lot of heals and sustain, you could literally save your ass from almost any possible scenario with. Also hope they bring back Strike of the Windlord, playing monk without that spells doesnt feels right…

You were super OP in BFA , top PVE choice in all 3 specs in Mythics and best Tank for Raids , in PVP best DPS and healer …. so yeah you had your fun , time for other classes to take the spot light.
But
WW looks solid for PVP AND PVE , maybe not top damage in raids , but very good . Unlike the other 2 specs WW is fine
whelp Personally as i see after getting less and less care from blizzard Monk is getting absolutely forgotten and even unwanted by most people since it does not fit the Warcraft world all that aide from getting the same treatment because of his underperformance, but even so, it performed excellently in arenas and bg-s, so many players it for pvp…me included…so i would really like to know if that did stay the same?
Ww is good at everything but having a reserved spot in mythic raiding which i avoid like the plague anyway that's why it's good to me the playstyle always brings me back legendaries should fix all the holes in the spec
