If you’ve played through bastion you must have come through the void invasion questline that is from a lore perspective one of the most intriguing questline in all of World of Warcraft.
Eons ago the Void Lords launched an invasion on the afterlife itself and wanted to take over. We see that it happened in bastion but there are also traces of the void in Maldraxxus as well and no doubt other realms of the Shadowlands as well.
Aside from this small side quest this event is in my opinion crucial in regards to what is to come in the Warcraft universe. We see that death had battled the void as well as the Light which means that we might be finally coming into contact with the Void Lords.

Doronsmovies i think this expansion shouldnt exist.Ask why?Well beacuse i dont what could be next expansion like we gone out full when we know everything there is nothing more than maybe the expansion of the void lords.Or maybe we get to know about the first ones.

Well Alexandros became a DEATH KNIGHT( not wilingly but he did) and when someone becomes a death knight there's no more connection to the light.. I mean As Darion said in the novel "We ride Forth". "Praying to the light will at best burn your corrupted flesh. "..Correct me if I'm wrong but there is NO character in the lore that was a death knight( not an undead a Death Knight) that EVER used the light. So that's my explanation for why he's in maldraxxus, it's not just about "well you fight good come here".
