  1. Alot people fail to recognize that its all subjective. Era has less than 10k active players. SoD has about 30-40k. Retail has an unkowm amount but it has more than both mentioned above. I myself enjoy SoD and no longer play era because i played that for years and there is nothing new. Retail is also fun. But Classic WoW when it released was popular because of nostalgia not because it was the greatest game ever made. The evidence of that is that Wrath is the most popular xpac of all time amd Vanilla was not. Classic Plus will spawn from SoD and it will be very popular. But its all subjective in terms of fun

  2. It's still insane to me that people harp on so much even these days how WoW is SO BAD, have you ever stopped to consider you'll never get that feeling playing WoW because you can't anymore? Because you and your life has changed dramatically just by the passage of time…

  3. Just started playing EQ Project1999. Its just as addicting as vanilla WoW, if not more. There's something to be said about slower gameplay and 'forced' player interactions. The graphics are exceptional for a game released in 1999.
Its like spending time with WoW's grandpa, and it feels awesome. Give this a try if you're waiting for a fresh Classic to pop.

  5. Blizzard stopped being the goat when activision came into the picture. Despite all the "incidents" that happened in blizzard during those early times, those people working there during that time, were what I would consider geniuses when it comes to video game design philosophy.
